Fingerprint Scanner problem - Xiaomi Mi 5s Questions & Answers

Hello all. My mi5s has developed a problem. While the fingerprint scanner was initially working fine one day it stoped working reliably(when trying to add a fingerprint it would detect it some of the time but could not complete the procedure) and in the end it stopped working altogether. In spite of that the capacitive middle button works perfectly. I have tried several roms, including official roms and miui.eu ones but no luck. I fear that it is a hardware issue, but my biggest worry is weather the scanner module is defective or the chip that is responsible for processing the fingerprint is the culprit, needing the whole motherboard to be replaced. I'd appreciate any feedback you can provide. Cheers

Bugs with FP can't make so big damage. Install ZCX TWRP, mount persist, go to persist folder in TWRP file manager [advanced > file manager] and rename "fingerprint" to "fingerprint-old".

[G800F/M/Y][ROM][5.1.1][LMY48G] CyanogenMod 12.1 for G800F/M/Y [Alpha 15/08/2015]

This is a CyanogenMod 12.1 ROM for the Exynos3470 based Samsung Galaxy S5 mini (G800F/G800M/G800Y). Support for G800M is untested so far.
DO NOT USE IT FOR G800H OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE
Although G800F and G800H share the same name they are not related in terms of hardware due to the different SoCs used (Exynos vs. Snapdragon).
Hence please do not ask for support or ROMs for the G800H.

Known issues:
See the Bug Report section of this thread
Disclaimer:
You flash this image at your own responsibility. I am not responsible for any damage that might be caused by flashing this image (bricked device, lost data, ...)
Flashing this kernel image will trigger the KNOX counter, so your warranty will be void.
Applications that use KNOX (e.g. "Private Mode") might not work anymore when returning to the stock ROM, as the device is regarded as compromised. Do not flash this ROM if you need those applications.
The image is only for Exynos3470 based S5 Mini variants SM-G800F/M/Y.
It might be instable, crash your device, drain your battery, or even might damage your smartphone (e.g. if an USB-OTG device drains too much power)
Some users reported that their touch-screen stopped working permanently after some weeks of usage. For some user's (two at the moment including me) NFC stopped working permanently. Probably this issues are not related to this ROM as also many stock user's complain about hardware issues (random reboots, black screens, unresponsive touchscreen) but you have been warned.
Backup your data before flashing and check if the original firmware is present (e.g. at SamMobile)

Before you start:
Backup your data, like call history, contacts, sms, WhatsApp messages, favourite app settings that are on internal and external sd (by using Titanium Backup or other apps available on PlayStore). At least all internal data will be lost in any case. If you have bad luck you might also loose data from your external sd card.
Download:
Odin3-v3.07 (it is contained in CF-Auto-Root)
TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery image [08/07/2015] (AndroidFileHost Mirror)
CM 12.1 ROM for G800F/M/Y (AndroidFileHost Mirror)
Google Apps (contains Google Play, ...) for Android 5.1.1 from Jajb (Recommended) or the one that suits you best from Consolidated GApps.
Install recovery:
Reboot your device into Odin mode: turn off your device, then press Volume-Down + Home + Power button at the same time and release them.
Confirm the following warning message with the Volume-Up button.
Connect your device to your PC via USB
Make sure the device driver's are installed on your PC
Start Odin
In Odin select PDA and select the recovery image (recovery.tar.md5)
Check that only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" is set
Click on "Start": the kernel image should be flashed now and the device should reboot afterwards. By flashing the recovery, your warranty will be void.
After the recovery flashing process was successful, power of your device. If not restart into Download mode and flash again or flash the stock rom.
Before you flash:
You need the latest TWRP recovery (see above). Otherwise TWRP might not be able to flash the ROM. This is because TWRP checks now if the device is "supported".
Wipe the device to avoid problems with remaining files from the old installation (see instructions below). This also applies if you already installed an older version of CM 12.1.
Flash CyanogenMod:
Reboot into recovery mode (Press Volume-Up + Home + Power button)
If you come from a stock ROM, this is your opportunity to make a Backup of your phone(Backup, then select Boot, System, Data, then swipe to backup). Note that the recovery might fail to restore the backup when you want to go back to the stock ROM (for me it got stuck after a restore during boot. But the backup was made with a different version of TWRP, so it might work in general) - simply do not expect too much of it at the moment.
If you haven't copied the installation files yet, you can now copy the GApps and CyanogenMod zip to your internal sd or external sd (be careful not to put the files into the data directory of the internal sd card as this will be deleted in the next step). Be sure that MTP is enabled (inside Mounts, click on Enable MTP), then, from your pc, copy the files. If MTP does not work from recovery, try it directly from Android or remove the external sd card from the phone and put it into your PC.
Wipe Dalvik Cache, Cache, System and Data (inside Wipe -> Advanced Wipe). Do not report problems if you did not wipe those partitions as the problems are most probably related to this!
Install the CM 12.1 ROM zip-package
Install the GApps zip-package
Reboot the system and enjoy a Lollipop
How to root:
No SuperSu is needed as CyanogenMod already comes with integrated root support. Root access is disabled by default.
You normally do not need root access. If you want to activate root access for apps, do the following:
Open the Settings menu, select "About Phone"
Tap on the "Build number" entry seven times. You should be notified, that the developer settings are now active.
Open the Settings menu, select "Developer options". Enable root access by selecting "Apps" in the "Root-Access" setting.
In case you want to go back to the stock ROM:
lf you do not have the latest ROM for the G800F you can download it from SamMobile
Reboot your phone into Odin mode
Open Odin on your PC and connect your smartphone with your PC via USB
If you have a zip-file unzip it so that you have a .tar.md5 file
In Odin click on the PDA button and select the .tar.md5 file. Then press "Start".
Normally the stock rom fails to boot as the data from CM12 is still on the data partition. So after flashing the stock rom, reboot into recovery mode (it looks a bit different now). First wipe the data partition, then wipe the cache.
Reboot

Developers welcome
At the moment the G800F/M/Y specific port of this ROM is only done by one person (hennymcc). Although Unjustified Dev also works on this ROM he does not own an Galaxy S5 Mini but a Galaxy Light which has a similar base but is different when it comes to camera, nfc and other components (maybe even slightly when it comes to audio and radio).
Help from other developers is always welcome. See the bug/feature section and this thread to see what is missing. Just give some short info (here in this thread or PM) that you want to work on some issue or feature so that work can be synchronized. Maybe there are also other devs that want to work with you on the same issue.
Knowledge in how the kernel works and good programming skills in C, C++ and Java would be nice but not necessary for all problems. At least you should be able to build the ROM and test your changes yourself but you do not need experience in porting ROMs.
Thanks to Unjustified Dev from Team Regular. As the S5 mini (G800F/M/Y) and the Galaxy Light are quite similar we worked on this together.

FAQ:
Question:
I'm trying to flash this rom but it says to me: "This package is for kmniltexx, kminiltedv, kminilteub; this device is kminilte. E:Error executing updater binary zip ...."
Answer:
The device names were changed with the newest CM12 build to be able to distinguish between G800F (kmniltexx), G800Y (kminiltedv) and G800M (kminilteub) as all of them are kminilte devices. The new builds of TWRP and CM12 detect the correct device at runtime.
Older TWRP releases (for example that of RVR in another XDA thread) still detect the device as kminilte (instead of kmniltexx,...) and hence are not able to install the new CM 12 releases so please do not install RVR's TWRP if you want to install CM 12. Always use the TWRP image linked in the first post of this thread.

As none of the pre-alpha testers reported any issues with NFC, I assume that the broken NFC of LS97 and me was caused by electrostatic discharge while removing and re-inserting the battery (at least I did this hundreds of times). In addition we already broke our NFC some weeks ago after having used 5.0.2 for some while, so this ROM should be at least as safe as 5.0.2 and there is no direct link between the custom ROM and the broken NFC.
Just as a precaution: to avoid damage of the NFC-chip (which is connected to the antenna in the battery) by electrostatic discharge, use the power button to reboot the smartphone instead of removing the battery.
What a nice first post for this new ROM
Are the links above the same like the ones you posted into the comments in your 5.0.2 thread? Just so i know if something has changed in thos links obove.

Hey. What i did is just rather turn them off completely.
Settings > Buttons > Backlight > Uncheck Illuminate buttons
Else there is no fix, due cm12.1 universality it doesn't work with the buttons like the stock ROM did.

Ok thats wierd. Have you wiped all partitions you needed to like said above ( dalvik cache, cache, system, data )
If it gets verry anoying you might give a reflash a try. Also i know this sounds funny but did you atleast try rebooting the device?
---------- Post added at 08:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:50 PM ----------
Also did you give this a shot https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.deskangel.kblight
There are many more apps on gplay for button backlight. Just search it
i've flashed it yesterday over the old buidl (without full wipe). so i got FC's on several google apps.
after flashing several different gapps for lolipop 5.1 the errors with the FCs are still stere.
then i've made a full clean install with full wipe and installed the pa gapps from the 04-10-2015 and now everything works fine & smooth.
tommorrow ill gonna test the bluetooth cause on the old build there were sond errors....
but for now it looks very good
I've discovered something. If you enable LiveDisplay the device will lag a bit.
And when you think I did a full wipe and reflashed the ROM, just to find out that my problem was related to this little feature...
@henny: can you confirm that this mod will work on your build ?
It sounds very good

I personally don't see a lot of advantages in it and would not recommend it, especially for this phone, regardless of whether or not it's compatible.

Why not. I use it for daily use and i have to say i have less bugs than my stock rom had.
With that it boosted my phone like hell and there is no more lagg when oppening apps, going to the homescreen, scrolling through apps and no more touchwiz. Plus you got the newest android up to date. That fixed some app issues with my phone ( i no longer got the app not compatible error after lolipop. Oh yeah and no more bubble sounds when pressing on something Thaankk you! There are many other things that i preffer over the stock rom. So i see so much potential in this ROM and would preffer it as much as i can if you got a s5 mini g800f.

The only way to find out if it works is to try it. So if you want this feature you can flash that mod and report if it works .
I personally do not need it as I want the phone to turn off when I "power it off".
Note that the mod could cause stability issues. So before reporting bugs here you should reinstall CM 12.1 first with a full wipe and check if the problem is still present.
Edit:
this was supposed to be an answer to DerMoeJoe's question about the QuickBoot mod

WARNING: You'll most probably loose ALL your data, and might break your phone. Please use with extreme caution!
The goal of this ROM is to provide maximum hardware compatibility inside a Generic System Image.
No feature will be added. This will ease forward porting to new Android versions, which is the very goal of Project Treble
My hope is that other ROM developers will use this ROM as a basis to construct more advanced ROM.

Install instructions for Vince
1. Install a vendor image
You can use the Cardinal AOSP vendor image here (includes boot.img and vendor only).
Other vendor images can be used, just flash this first to get a vendor partition and a patched bootloader. The stock MIUI bootloader will not boot this.
2. Install system.img to /system. Use 7Z or RAR to unpack system-arm64-aonly-vanilla-nosu.img.xz.
3. Reboot recovery
4. Install GApps (Aroma suggested) and optionally a kernel (see footer).
5. Install Magisk
6. Boot and follow setup
Enabling Google Camera functionality
Camera2API (flash via TWRP):

Gcam (install as normal):

Optional Prep (if you're coming from other ROMs);
Backup your internal storage, this will wipe it.
1. Download Fastboot Images from here - http://en.miui.com/a-234.html, Global Developer direct link is here.
Extract to C:/vince and DELETE all files with suffix 'lock' and 'lock_crc'
2. HOLD VOL- and POWER for fastboot, open MiFlash and click flash
nb. For connectivity issues install PC Suite
2a. hold VOL- nearing completion (once userdata.img flashing starts on status).
2b. Open ADB and flash a non-treble recovery. Assuming you place this in C:/vinceimg and rename the file to recovery.img, the command would be:
Fastboot flash recovery C:/vinceimg/recovery.img
2c: HOLD VOL+ and POWER for recovery
3. In the recovery, click the install tab, select a treble recovery zip. The recovery will reboot..
4. Optionally flash splash.zip to remove 'Unlocked' text on boot
5. Click the Wipe tab, choose Format data and type "yes", reboot the recovery and then go to Advanced Wipe and choose DALVIK/SYSTEM/INTERNAL/DATA/CACHE and reboot recovery again. These steps may be superfluous.
A treble kernel is recommended (if you install this later you will need to reflash magisk);

You can try the Substratum beta with a dark theme but you need to build (no enable), restart, then enable. Though it didn't work for me.
Google has intentionally blocked theming and removed the dark elements of the UI in Pie, so they're busy trying to do an evil and just want to blind people.

Front/Back Cameras (w/all features after fixes)
Fingerprint, Quick Charge
Speakers/Microphone
Sensors (tested Accelerometer, Light, Gravity, Magnetic, Gyroscope, Proximity, Orientation, Linear Acceleration, Step Counter, Rotation)
Device features not working:
Tethering
Bugs:
The usual vendor error on boot
Some Bluetooth service FCs; otherwise works fine
YouTube may stutter at 1440p60 or above
Background WiFi join isn't as quick as Oreo ROMs
Its worthwhile installing a kernel so CPUs hotplug properly

Yes, you should be able to use that fine, its just adding libs to the vendor partition so I don't see it causing issues with your install. Let me know if it works for you
Edit: apparently goodix works anyway.
On a side note you might be able to copy further libs/files over from other Oreo vendor partition images. But backup your existing vendor partition in TWRP first in case files you drop in will v. likely mess things up.
Just use Android Image Kitchen (Play Store) to unpack a vendor.img file.
Can't guarantee the libs will be compatible but if you find specific drivers working, or relevant prop lines that are missing in the OP vendor then you might be able to get a head start on bug-free Pie.
Tried encrypting the phone and it's it's not working, the phone just restarts. Is this a rom bug or a kernel specific one?

Just use Android Image Kitchen (Play Store) to unpack a vendor.img file. To view an existing vendor partition mount in TWRP and view hidden files under file manager.

Does it restart in TWRP? I.E. freeze and reboot? or bootloop?
You could try flashing a different recovery and kernel to eliminate those.

Rom Access or advice for TAB S4

My device was fine before Rooting importantly the Bluetooth stack was was also fine. However, after rooting all BT Pairings are lost across reboots etc. Just turning BT off then on again causes the issue making it necessary to delete and re-pair every time the device starts. over the last week i've ran various tests, and concluded the issue lies with either the hardware or the stock image i got from Sammobile.com. Being a noob, during my experimentation i have had to flashback to the stock image on several occasions. Only discovering the Bluetooth issue when putting my work to good use and using the device.
Yesterday i tested the theory. Flashed it to stock, booted to OS and skipped all the config disabled WI-FI and DATA so it couldn't pull updates. Tested Bluetooth and the issue is present. The Bluetooth did work correctly before i started rooting it. This is unlikely a hardware issue so can only assume its an issue in the build i have from Sammobile. If any of you have access to a stock pre-installed rom that works that they could give me access to, so i can do some testing or indeed any advice it would be very much appreciated.
Device = Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 (SM-T835 on EE)
PDA = T835XXU2ARJ3
CSC = T835OXM2ARJ3
Many thanks

This is known issue once rooted, however it has already been fixed. There is a module that you need to load via Magisk. Search for: libsecure_storage companion for rooted Samsung devices. Load that up and you'll be good to go.

Hmm, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling again via Magisk to confirm. I have rebooted multiple times and the bluetooth pairings stick for me. I do have T830 vs. the T835 that you have but I wouldn't think that it should matter. Worth another shot anyway.

Cheers will give it a go - at this point i have nothing to lose, just taken a fresh backup so nothing ventured nothing gained
its stuck no boot while removing secure_storrage module from majisk
Oddly having tried the suggestion above of removing the majisk module the device no longer boots it gets stuck on the Samsung logo. For some reason the vendor partition is no longer able to mount.. Completed a restore eventually to get it to boot. Disabling the module yields the same result. no vendor partition and no boot. Going back to an earlier backup prior to the module being installed
The plot thickens
Today i'm still trying to find a fix for disappearing Bluetooth devices. Using the Magisc module cases my Tab to stall during boot on the Samsung logo similarly trying to replace the /vendor/lib and /vendor/lib64 binaries manually also causes the system to freeze on the Samsung logo. looking at the binaries and some path file references there in. It would appear as though my tablet is missing some key files or folder so far the following are missing
/data/system/secure_storage/ls_data.db
/dev/.ashem.secure_storage_ashem
/dev/.secure_storage/sd_socket.ro
any of you have any thoughts

You actually only need to replace the libsecure_storage.so libs and set the correct permissions.
Add the following to the build.prop:
ro.securestorage.support=false
Boot failure when LIbs replaced

No matter how i do this, the device failes to boot and gets stuck on the samsung logo.
Install the majsik module through majisk reoot when prompted = device brick
making all the changes manually including the changes to the build.prop in the /vendor partition = device brick on reboot.
Tried Using instructions and librarys from the following post
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sa.../guide-fix-bluetooth-losing-pairings-t3798262
Although, the above post says to replaces the libs in the system folder which serves no purpose but replacing them in the vendor partition causes the device to brick at next boot.
Thanks far the suggestions, Still looking

Is this happening with only the storage libs or does it happen if you make any other changes to vendor?

Thanks for the assist
It occurs only when the Libs are changed.
Originally using the majsic module to install the libs it couldn't overwrite the files as they are in use. modifying the build.prop seemed to resolve that but as soon as those libs are change either manually through terminal or via the installer i end up with a soft brick LOL
its Bugging me!!!
Interestingly
Once the device hangs.
Simply restoring the vendor partition doesn't fix the boot issue.
In order to get the device to boot I have to restore /data (you don't need to restore /vendor just /data)
oddly restoring the /data partition restores the 2 library files in /vendor to their respective originals
Majisk zip extraction issue
so I have resolved the Bluetooth issue, Rather having majisk install the module i just downloaded it and extracted the contents and discovered that upon zip extraction the contents of each file were appended to themselves. see screenshot "confused.jpg" of the readme.md - so in relation to the library files, the files being installed were double in size hence corrupt.
ie /vendor/lib/secure_storage.so should =308kb the file being insatalled in my /vendor/lib partition was 616kb the 64 bit library was also double the size it should have been.
infarct all the files within the Zip had the same issue.
so i extracted the Zip contents on my pc and transferred the library files via usb. made the relevant changes to build.prop and stopped the secure_storage deamon. Machine now boots and Bluetooth pairings are retained across reboots.
Small Wins
Any one have a clue why the files would double up on content??????
built in zip extractor
the issue i have is with the stock zip extraction tool.
extracting the zip file content on the tablet with winzip. the files are as they should be

[GUIDE] Fix PERSIST.IMG Loss Of Finger Print Sensor

New video guide below
VIDEO GUIDE
1. *VERY IMPORTANT* We need to back up your broken persist.img and store it in a safe place. PC preferred. We will need this later. Do not leave the backup on the device as the next step will wipe the device.
*IF YOU LOOSE THIS PERSIST.IMG BEFORE WE MODIFY IT WITH A CALIBRATION, YOU LOOSE ALL CHANCE OF FIXING THIS YOURSELF*
*IT HOLDS IMPORTANT FP CALIBRATION DATA THAT WE WILL BE OVERWRITTEN IN THE NEXT FEW STEPS*
Note: This requires root
Type this into terminal or ADB shell with root privileges.
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist of=/sdcard/persist.img
Backup the partition to another device. Preferably a PC as you may need one in the later steps.
2. Next we have to restore our OS to an earlier OOS. (10.5.4 is what I used and recomended)
Use the MSMTool to restore your device to 10.5.4.Note: You will loose your unlocked bootloader and will be required to unlock your bootloader once more.
Guide and Source for MSMTool
MSMTool 10.5.4 Download
3. Next step is to unlock the built in 'Factory Mode' I have a guide on how to do this below.
[GUIDE] Unlock Factory Mode *root*
4. Now we need to perform a FP calibration. We want to fail.
Enter Factory Mode as shown in the previous guide. (*#808# in the stock dialer)
Swipe over to "Device Debugging"
Select "Finger print test"
Select "Finger print calibration test(Pure White - 90% Blue)
Select "Start Test"
Keep on going through the tests (You must hold an object or your finger over sensor on all BUT THE BLACK RUBBER TEST of these test for it to work!)
The test will fail and this is what we want. There should be a lot of red lines, if you only have one or two try again.
5. We need to extract the the old broken persist.img
NOTE: It is important that we extract the backed up persist.img as it has been unmodified by our recent calibration. This persist.img although broken still has all our working calibrations on it including Finger Print calibrations.
The way I did this is by opening it extracting it via 7-ZIP on my PC
Once extracted move the 'DATA' folder and the 'ENGINEERMODE' folder to the root of your sdcard.
6. Download a root explorer. I highly recommend 'Solid Explorer' from the Play Store.
Open 'DATA' folder and delete 'gf_persist.so'
Select the 'DATA' and 'ENGINEERMODE' folders you just put on the device and place them at /mnt/vendor/persist/
It should ask you if you want to keep the old or new files. Select to keep the new.
Reboot.
7. If you followed all my steps correctly this you should be able to go into settings and add your fingerprints.
Why does this work?
Good question... I think what is happening is something in the persist partition breaks which causes the device to think that the sensor is not calibrated when in fact it still is.
When we start and fail a new calibration this fixes whatever was broken in our partition. But now we have a failed calibration.
So what we do is take the files from our backed up persist partition and move over all the necessary files that have our original calibration. But now our partition has the part of it that wasn't working fixed.
I spent a good many days working on this fix (1-2 hundred hours or so). I hope you can be respectful if you have issues. Please kindly ask below and I'll do my best to help.
Thank you for this!
Absolutely fantastic that you solved it, I RMA,'d mine, but for others this is Highly beneficial......?
I will also thank you for your many hours placed so that others now don't have to RMA.
Well done ......?

Yes, I copied both data and engineer mode folders as instructed. Also, I was dumb and only did one fingerprint test. After going through all of them it did end up failing at the end.
Still wanted to give this a go before sending my phone back to OnePlus for repair.
Edit: Thought maybe upgrading from 10.5.4 to 10.5.10 would fix it after following all instructions, still have a fp enrollment error.

Old guide said not to touch the sensor during calibration. New one is touch touch on all tests but the black rubber test.
Make sure you see a bunch of red lines after you run the calibration and it fails. Not just one.

Wait until your device is fully rebooted before opening apps [REWARDED]

Hello friends!
I need a lot help.
If I fail to repair the operating system and work as before, I am impetuously interested in recovering at least the data on the /sdcard (internal phone storage) because I HAVE NO BACKUP and I need that data lke the air.
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 (Ginkgo) with stock ROM MIUI India/Global (11.0.6.0.PCOINXM), TWRP (3.3.1.0) and Magisk (v20.1 or 20.3 - I don't remember exactly).
About two days ago Revolut no longer allowed me to use the application because the phone is rooted. I needed to make an immediate transfer, so I started playing with Magisk because it didn't pass the SafetyNet test. Until then I had installed only Magisk, I updated to the latest version v21.2, I also installed two modules: MagiskHide Props Config (latest version) and Universal SafetyNet Fix v1.1.0. Plus the latest version of TWRP (3.5.0_9-0).
After running "props" in the terminal, I followed the steps (1, f, Xiaomi, 71 ...) and selected my phone from the list I managed to pass the SafetyNet test, but Revolut still did not work.
After that I tried to disguise the Magisk application with another name to hide it (that's how I saw it through some tutorials), but without success because I didn't activate install applications via USB (something like that).
I left the phone for about half an hour, and then the PROBLEMS BEGUN.
For each application I want to launch I receive the following message "wait until your device is fully rebooted before opening apps". I restarted the phone countless times and nothing. I noticed that TWRP does not decrypt user 0 or 999, so I changed TWRP to the previous version, uninstalled Magisk, deleted the modules from /data/adb/modules, upgraded to MIUI v11.0.6.0 and then MIUI v12.0.1.0 - and the problem persists.
I mention that using TWRP File Manager all the content from /data/data and /sdcard is encrypted (files and folders have unintelligible names). The rest of the files are ok.
Although developer mode is enabled, I don't have USB debugging enabled, and the default USB connection is set to charging and as I constantly get the error "wait until your device is fully rebooted before opening apps" I can't change them.
When I open the phone, at the lockscreen, I have a pattern that I successfully insert and the phone opens. The same pattern in TRWP does not decrypt the data.
Given the fact that it accepts the pattern password, I think that if I had a USB connection I would have managed to recover decrypted content from the internal storage space of the phone. Or is the error I receive exactly due to the fact that the applications no longer have access to the content because it is encrypted?
If so how can I recover all the encryption keys to backup them and then how can I try to fix this problem? Or if the keys have been altered, can they still be generated again (if the phone is the same, as well as the IMEI or serial number, etc)?
I understand that if I solve this problem I will either recover my phone as before or at least I can decrypt and access the data and make a backup.
It is very frustrating to see that the necessary information is still there, but I cannot access it.
Because I have access to the system with TWRP, I think I can attach logs.
I hope no one feels offended, but I am so desperate that I am willing to pay a reward.
Please help me!
Here is my video for a better understanding.

When I used MagiskHide, it changed my default.prop
Is it possible that the above problem is due to this fact?
How can I copy default.prop (original from wife's phone - same model) from SD card to phone?
Nothing changes with TWRP File Manager copy/paste. Can a script be used to be flashed with TWRP?
Any prop changes that were made with MagiskHide or MagiskHide Props Config did not touch any of your actual prop files. Your default.prop (and any other prop files) are going to be exactly as they were before enabling MagiskHide or changing prop values with MagiskHide Props Config.
Magisk does these things systemlessly, which means it doesn't actually alter the files. This (default.prop) is not your issue... How did you come to the conclusion that Magisk had changed your prop file anyway?
Since you've uninstalled Magisk and the modules, and even updated your OS and the problem still persists it is unlikely that it's directly related to Magisk. I know very little of MIUI though, so I'll leave the rest of the troubleshooting to those that do.
Thanks for the help and for the reply!

I see a difference between my file and my wife's, although the phones are identical and had the same version of the operating system.
Originel - ro.bootimage.build.fingerprint=xiaomi/ginkgo/ginkgo:9/PKQ1.190616.001/V11.0.2.0.PCOINXM:user/release-keys
Actual - ro.bootimage.build.fingerprint=Xiaomi/omni_ginkgo/ginkgo:16.1.0/PQ3B.190801.002/5:eng/test-keys
Maybe I'm wrong, I'm trying different options...
In the end, I'm only interested in being able to access the decrypted content from /data and /sdcard (the internal phone storage) to backup them. Later I will reinstall everything.
Please help me with some tips, ideas, what else can I do?
If I reinstall the same version of MIUI, TWRP and use the same pattern can I decrypt the data (If I finally manage to backup them).
I'm already trying without success for about 2 days, do you think there is any chance to recover the DATA and/or internal storage (most important)?
Or to transfer it encrypted and then set the same pattern and eventually restore the data after I format and reinstall everything?
If I reinstall the same version of MIUI, TWRP and use the same pattern can I decrypt the data?

That fingerprint wasn't set by Magisk... Looks to me like you've been running a third-party/custom ROM and then didn't do a clean install of MIUI when going from the custom ROM. If so, that's a very likely source of the issues. I'm just guessing wildly though...

Until 14.01.2021 when Revolut no longer worked on rooted phones, I had the MIUI India 11.0.2.0 version installed. Nothing else. Later in trying to make it work I kept switching between various official versions 11.0.2.0 / 11.0.6.0 and 12.0.1.0, flashed thru TWRP or Mi Flash (with save user data method).
It worked perfectly until I made those settings described in the original post. The problem is elsewhere, I think.
Based on the information in the attached file are the system encryption keys generated based on software or hardware?
Because if is hardware, I still have a chance to recover something, but if it's software, the fact that I tried to switch between versions decreases my chances to recover something.
What do you think?

After I upgraded to MIUI 12.0.1.0 with MiFlash now I can't downgrade to 11.0.2.0. In logs everything seems to be ok, but the phone don't boot entering in recovery.
Trying to flash any other custom ROM, do you thing may be a solution? Or I will make things worse?
How can I resolve this situation?
If the fingerprint is the problem of FBE decrypting, how to restore the correct prop.default file?
Is any recovery that allow me to edit this file like text?
I have a copy of original prop.default.
Hey, did u mange to find a workaround? Im having the same issue, so frustrating!
