I had Htc desire 820 and exported contacts to memory card which is in .vef format. But now I have Xiomi 4 and want to restore the contacts in phone or google account but don't know to read .vef file. So please suggest me how to do that.

As far as I know you can use a .vef file to import contacts to your Google account using your PC. Open the contacts section of your Google account on a desktop browser and you'll see the import contacts option at the bottom of the left sidebar.
Once you've done that just sync your Google contacts on any of your Android devices and your contacts will appear. And in future make sure you save new contacts as a Google contact instead of on your phone memory, it makes things a lot easier.

When somebody calls me from the number which I don't have in my phonebook and after that I just want to copy that number to existing contact, there is no option for that.
Only ==save to contacts option==.

what i do is..right click.. click on send a text msg...copy the number from there by highlighting.. and then copy it to the existing contact LOL..well got to live with it

What exactly do you want to do, there is an outlook namespace which has lot of features which you can use
i want load my sms in pc and save it in .docx file. how to connect to database of sms?
u can create an app which can read the content of the sms from your inbox and save to your desired format (device application) or use activesync connection.
As far as i know u can't directly connect to the sms/contact database plz correct me if i am wrong
and if you want to parse different folders then u can use inthehand libs or the opensource project MAPI.NET( the link u can find in my signature is in SMS filter rules)

1. turn off htc sense (I forget how. it's in settings)
2. sync your phone.
3. explore and go through these folders: temp >> twiteng.
4. delete the files in the twiteng folder.

Not familiar with your ROM so cant directly help. In the meantime though you could log in to your google contacts, add then contact the sync contacts on your phone.

Download "Contacts" app by Google and add a new contact with that app. You will be fine.
