Cost runs around 150 US for a replacement screen with the digitizer but your device will never be the same.
I broke or shattered my screen a few months back and bought a replacement unit off eBay, the replacement screen isn't the same quality as the original screen.
You'll as need new adhesive and a heat gun which is needed to soften up the massive amount of adhesive that glues down your existing screen.
If you aren't precise and glue down your new screen in the exact same pattern of your original screen, you'll have worrible sound vibrations coming from the top speaker.

[SOLVED] How to know if I must replace Digitalizer, LCD or Both?

Hey I was wondering how could I know if I need to replace the digitilizer, the LCD or both? The touch screen seems to be working (it responds as usual) the issue is that the glass is broken. The thing is that the difference is price is quite big between digitilizer and both.
Thanks!
They're fused together and almost impossible to separate without causing damage. You'll have to replace the whole LCD/digitizer assembly
If you manage to separate them (i don't recommend) then you can get the cheap digitizer. You will need a hair dryer to melt the glue between them.
I didn't try this or will try it but this method is very popular for iphones.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I've spent 6 months trying to get a proper One X screen (complete unit, LCD+Digitizer). Not one of the 7-8 screens I have tried has had the digitizer fully bonded to the LCD. Many of the replacements had defective LCDs too (contrast issues, bad backlights etc).
When I got my One X back in April (had it for a whole week before a drop from pocket height smashed the screen!), I recall that there was no gap at all between the LCD and digitizer, across the whole screen area - they were bonded completely - something proven beyond doubt when a repair company had a go at getting the broken digitizer off the LCD underneath.
Every replacement screen I have tried has had a distinct gap - the LCD and digitizer are bonded but ONLY along the edges, not across the screen surfaces. I cannot see a way they could be bonded across the entire surface either, as the gap seems to be there because the digitizer unit holds the gorilla glass approximately 1mm above the LCD surface. Even if you could bond them, it wouldn't go right to the edges.
So now I have a flawless LCD, but an air gap. Pressing on the screen (eg, when checking for the Wi-Fi hardware issue), results in a sort of "reverse bubble" - a dark area where the two surfaces come into contact. That dark area is actually how the entire screen should look, and the air gap makes the display poor in direct sunlight.
Now I could put up with it, but the Ballistic case I have (to prevent more shattered screens) forces the digitizer into contact with the LCD in the middle of the screen which looks rubbish.
Does anyone know of a source of replacement screens that aren't the crappy sort I've been getting? Or am I wrong about the air gap? I'm convinced the ones on ebay are ALL these shoddy hand-made efforts with air gaps.
In case anyone wondered - I did ask HTC about a repair, but as you may know, they wanted a ransom fee if I didn't like their quote after posting my phone to them. O2 gave a free quote, but wanted £300! Their repair centre refused to just replace the screen, and insisted on replacing the perfectly functioning mainboard too.
£300 ? thats more than the phone's price, it shouldn't cost more than £100 if they wanted to rip you

No it's not - the phone is £380 on Amazon right now (it was £400+ but the One X+ release has devalued it more quickly).
If you'd like to provide a link to somewhere offering a complete new screen for £100 or less, I would be interested. Most companies in the UK are offering replacement screens for £150 or so, fitted.
Thank you all, today I went to a local store and they changed both LCD and Digitilizer for $120 (Dollars), they kept my LCD (which was working). I think it went way cheaper than expected
Ebay item number: 320929331645
101% original screen combo + surrounding rim. Bought from there myself and I can assure, that this item is genuine. Price is a bit steep, thou.

LCD or Digitizer?

Hello everyone, So I recently bought a Nexus 7(2013) about two months ago, It's a great device and for $229 I can't go wrong with it.
But recently I was using it for reading a book in bed and it dropped from the side of my bed (about a 2 feet drop) I picked it up and to my surprise there was a hairline crack at the lower right edge of the screen and most parts of the screen are not responding to touch but there aren't any flaws with the display . I went to ebay and checked replacements, I saw two different things an LCD screen(about $40) and a digitizer(about $20), There are also LCD+Digitizers for about $60. What I want to know is should I replace the digitizer or the LCD or both? also are they easy enough to do by myself or should I leave it to an expert? Thanks in advance
Seems like it's just the digitizer. A broken LCD wouldn't display properly.

So should I order just the digitizer? cause those are a lot cheaper than the combos
I wouldn't do that. The glass is glued down and is almost impossible to remove without breaking the LCD. Lots of work with a heatgun or hairdryer and trying to cram plastic cards in between to get them loose. It is very stressful on the parts. Best to buy the entire unit and put your broken one on ebay. I've broken two similar units this way.

Lenovo p2 replacement screen

Hi I'm wondering where I could source a replacement screen for this device as none of my local phone repair shops seem to be able to source one

Here you go and good luck with the replacement
P.S.

Has anybody got a reliable source? There seems to be a global shortage of these bloody screens and besides the official Lenovo replacement costing 90% of the price of the phone, there are no other options available anywhere. Nothing on AliExpress, BangGood, Alibaba, eBay and anywhere else in my coutry.

+1. Cracked my screen last week, still fully functional but crack pattern is expanding and I don't trust it to be usable for a long time to come.
Been searching for replacement screen assembly but found nothing. Going to try contacting Lenovo technical support in my country now...
Lenovo tech support pointed me to a repair firm.
Repair firm asks to send the phone in, after which they provide a quote. If I don't agree to get it fixed, I have to pay a few tens for problem analysis. Like wtf, it's a cracked screen, you change it, it's a standard job with a standard cost that you can give me before I send it in!
Called another repair firm. They can't get the screen.
Apparently these screens are just not available.
They are on Aliexpress right HERE.
Expensive as hell though, considering you can get a new P2 for 180 euro's or a new screen for 160.

Thanks, that one is gone again though. And yeah at that price it's ridiculous.
But I've just found this: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/For-...lgo_pvid=b8eb5b04-c098-4a2b-a5ea-f9e34e6da00f
$113, which amounts to €94, with free shipping. This seems acceptable.

Well, the seller had just one of them so I bought it. Now let's hope my cracked screen stays functional for the time it takes to get the new screen here...

Seems like nowhere.
The order I made on aliexpress was subsequently cancelled because of it being "out of stock".
Options at this point seem limited to:
1. get it fixed for stupid money (not even sure whether any fixing service can get their hands on it)
2. try to locate a damaged second-hand phone with working screen you can buy for less
3. if your LCD and touch input still work fine like mine, just put up with it and wait for some months until people start upgrading and the asking prices for second-hand models start to drop
4. meanwhile, search on aliexpress or ebay every single day and hope a screen gets available for an acceptable price
I dropped my phone yesterday and the screen shattered from end to the other but the phone is working fine. I have just ordered the replacement front glass off of ebay for £19.99 from HK but seems a bit too cheap to me but worth a gamble at that price. Only problem is I have no idea how to take the phone apart and separate the glass from the digitizer! Are there instructions about I could follow or is my best bet taking it to a mobile phone repair shop to get it done?
I can post the ebay number if anyone is interested.

You tube. Check the entire display removal tutorial. Then check glass replacement tutorial for galaxy s8.
After taking off display, you have to chip off the glass from display after heating it with a hot air gun. Then remove the residual UV glue from panel. Then after making sure panel is clean, apply new UV glue on center, then place glass on top and then press from center gently to spread the glue evenly and that's it.

Thank you but i'm never going to manage to do that myself, I don't own a hot air gun for a start. Looks like i've wasted £20 plus the postage as I doubt i'll find a mobile phone repair shop to do it for me, i'd happily pay someone to do it if I could find someone!

I bought this to replace mine and it's indistinguishable from the original. Just not gorilla glass. But none of the aftermarket ones have it anyway. Button lights work and10 touch.
He even ships it with a free glass protector for you to install.

No Gorilla Glass on this one, probably it will crack after a while (lot of comments about that). You need to buy some screen protection asap.
Better to buy an original one that comes with Gorilla glass.
Yes I agree. I mentioned it if you wanted something cheap. It doesn't have gorilla glass and there might be some light bleed from physical buttons.
If you want the REAL original parts I would go with

I have bought many spare parts in general including the mi a1 screen with housing replacement. All official.

You don't need a heatgun if you purchased the screen with frame.
The problem is that I cannot find any guide that does it with the tool provided. I would be grateful if I could ask you in private message for some doubts that I have.
Thanks
I bought a copy a few months ago from AliExpress. Mounted last week. One drop from very low distance to the floor and it cracked. Very disappointed.

Agree, only dragon-tt gave me satisfaction, I tried eBay and aliexpress I've been really disappointed by the quality of the assembly (screen+frame)
Yes, one thing that I noticed straight away when I removed the original screen to put the new one is that aliexpress' copy was thinner and looked very fragile. I used b-7000 glue and it fitted perfectly with not light leaks. But in the end not so strong...one small drop and it cracked. With the original I had multiple drops for almost two years from more height with no cracks.

Need help to Revamp my Z2.

Just before 2 months I was gifted a Samsung s8.
I made it my primary device for a while.
As you know there is nothing you can do with Samsung phones in terms of customization, changing ROMs and also my new S8 screen broke recently.
I again want to use by Z2.
My Z2 was with my brother. He used it quite hard.
Front glass is cracked, touch is working. And also Back glass is cracked.
Any idea to replace those as cheapest as possible.
I want my phone to shiny and not cracked and I don't want to use skins. Just want a clean shiny, glassy device.

Easy enough, Its just white plastic with silver ZUK logo. Linky
The back is glued on so hair dryer or heat gun needed and it will lift off.
Most use B-6000 or B-7000 glue to put back on.
If you are from India, its cheaper and easier to try OLX or Quikr to find one used device. Not all people are familiar with custom rom & true capabilities of Z2 Plus so if you look hard, you can find a good scratchless device within 2.5k easily !!
Rather than paying high charge to repair it from Lenovo authorized service center, its cheaper to buy a second hand device.
Thanks.
Hey,
I also had broke my back glass recently, and i got a replacement from my local market for around ₹200.
Also i had paid a visit to the Lenovo official service center, and they quoted ₹2200, only for the back glass, and they had a doubt if it could be replaced as the model is out of production.
I would suggest you to buy it from local market, but keep in mind to check if the back sits properly into the phone as many back glass don't sit properly on the Indian variants of the Zuk Z2 plus.
And being for the screen lenovo charges around ₹6000-7000, if screen is available in stock. So i would prefer to go to the local market for this too, which would hardly cost you much. [Around ₹1500-2000].
