Difference between AOSP and stock camera

Hi!
Is there any difference in quality between camera in stock ROM and camera in AOSP ROM (like CM11)?
I saw that camera in CM11 haven't slow motion.

[Q] Camera Quality is Bad on AOSP/CM Based Roms.

Hi,
Is there any good CM/AOSP based roms that has a good camera quality like in MIUIv7/ColorOS based roms? There is huge difference on the quality in stock rom. I even used the ColorOSCamera Port but the quality is bad. Thanks.
HI,
Unfortunatly I have never encountered a better camera quality than on ColorOS, all pictures taken from CM based or AOSP based rom are blurry etc or low light even after using a CM HAL Mod or the ColorOS camera app.
I beleive that if you want to have such picture quality you'll need to stay on ColorOS or to try on Spectrum Project (that is still at its early stage)
Is it a case of driver support? If so, then no camera app would work well. I've wondered this and it is one reason I kept ColorOS.
Have you tried Camera FV-5

Stock or CM13/aosp Camera quality

I usually flash a cm13/aosp based ROM but am wondering what camera quality of stock vs cm13/aosp based ROM is like?
My oneplus 3 is enroute.
With stock camera port available for cm13/aosp ROMs, wondering if there is much in it.
Thanks
the camera port is much better than the stock CM camera, but the stock OOS rom still is far better than either.
Better and more performance is stock camera app

Miui rom camera vs AOSP rom camera

Is it safe to assume that the google camera on stock based roms is better than the miui 9 default camera?
Im saying this because I just got the Honor View 10 and will be doing some camera comparisons and dont really want to go back to miui rom.

Imo yes, Gcam is better. Especially front camera.
In my Mi6, the stock camera was better than Gcam

Which ROM?
miui9 with Camera2 enable way too much noise
Official Aicp 12.1, Google Camera can't focus, in the end i'm using bacon camera
Unofficial LOS 15.1 Too much noise again
The best picture i could get with my Mi6 was with the stock rom and default camera

I'm surprised.
Google camera on any ROM I've used has been consistently better than any other set up.
I don't even use HDR+ because of the autofocus issues.
Just normal photos.
Always better than stock camera and others even when using HDR+ with those.
Video is another area though. Only MIUI camera produces consistent video quality.
Gcam just lags and crashes.
Bacon camera was decent enough as an alternative for video.
Currently on AOSPA I have gcam for normal photos and MIUI camera for video and special photos
I was really eager to use Gcam, the phone i had before the Mi6 was a J5 Prime.. So no Gcam either. Everyone said it was an awesome camera, so i waited 72 hours, unlocked bootloader, twrp and then enable camera2.. I tried a few gcam mods and in my Mi6 none of them where superior to the default camera that came with miui9.

Why camera performance is better on Android Stock than MIUI?

I was using AEX Extended for a while and camera performance was really good. Fluid GCam and good compatibility with apps like Open Camera. Now I'm back to MIUI and I'm struggling to get used to how the camera works on MIUI. In Open Camera, 4K UHD resolution is gone. 1080p120FPS same thing and poor GCam performance. I'm using latest version of camera patches (General and front modules).
Why does this happen? It's because libs or because the structure of the OS? There is any way to fix this and improve camera performance as on Android Stock?
