hi thanks i have tried this many times with no joy , it just loads to the white logo and then after about 1 minute the box turns off . thanks

is there anyway i can get the ip address of the fire tv box ? even when i cant get past the white logo ? Then i could try to connect using adb fire , thanks

I went into my router, a Netgear Nighthawk (routerlogin.net works to access most routers & settings) and reset it to allow the Amazon Fire TV to access WiFi again. First, I copied the Mac address that was listed, then I deleted Amazon Fire TV from access and added it as an allowed device again. That fixed it for me.

As Danny mentioned above...go into your router settings and view your network map and get your FireTV IP address that way! Although, if your stuck at the white amazon screen then it very well may not be connected to your network.
Is your FireTV rooted and/or does it have an unlocked bootloader?

[Q] fire tv stick - xbmc install problems

hello
i am having a hard time installing xbmc on my fire tv stick
i can get my amazon fire tv stick it to connect using adbfire but i have to use a different ip address that is showing on the about screen on my amazon fire tv stick so instead of 192.168.1.11 (which is the ipaddress on my fire tv stick) i used 192.168.1.1 and it connects. then when i try to install xbmc apk from desktop via abdfire the green status bar just loads and loads and loads. i left it going all night last night and i still did not get a successful this morning.
when i enter this different ip address in the command prompt (via adt bundle- sdk- platform tools) it will connect but then when i type check devices it says offline so i cant install the xbmc apk
ive also tried installing spmc and cannot get it to show up on my amazon fire tv stick even after syncing and looking for it on the cloud
Are you using Windows? Try right clicking on adbfire and running as an administrator.

AFAICT, the problem isn't related to adbFire. The OP can't ping the FireTV Stick's IP address. Hopefully, more eyeballs here can help get his network problem fixed. I can't be positive, but I think 192.168.1.1 may be his router.
I'd try removing adbFire from the equation. Open a command-line and CD to the adbFire folder. Then try running adb.exe from the command-line. Try:
Code:
adb connect 192.168.1.11:5555
just like you tried:
Code:
ping 192.168.1.11
Try manually assigning the fire tv stick an ip address with your router that way you always know what its ip address is. 192.168.1.1 is definitely not it
fire tv
ok i took fire tv to friends house last night and got it to connect on her router via command . I was then able to install xbmc via command on fire tv stick.
so it must be something with my router?
i tried connecting via command when i got back to my house and could not connect.
I also tried inputting adb connect 192.168.1.11:5555 but no luck.
192.168.1.11 is the ip address shown on the fire tv stick
how do you manually assign the fire tv stick an ip address?
also how do you install apps like 1 channel and icefilms on to the fire tv stick once xbmc is installed.
i may try getting a new router
thanks
adbfire
also i could not get the fire tv stick to connect to adbfire even at my friends house.

Make sure that you disable your firewall on both your PC and your router.

Sideload then power down

Hi Guys,
Just bought the fire tv and was looking to sideload the kodi app to it. Unfortunately at home I don't have access to a computer so have brought it into work were I work on both mac and pc. I am unable to connect via hdmi to view the menu options but should be able to tell the ip address of my fire tv via my network.
My question is if I sideload an app and once finished I power down the fire tv will this work when I go home and power back on again?
I have already enabled adb debugging at home.
Thanks for your time
Darren
Shouldn't be an issue..
If you have an android phone you can sideload via agk fire

Fire Stick Stuck on Boot screen

Alright So i rooted my fire tv stick v5.0.5, with kingroot 4.82, everything was working perfect, i blocked ota updates, and i froze the fireTV Home, and used firestarter. I rebooted the fire tv and it rebooted perfect, still had root, everything was great! I wanted to connect my playstation controller to it, but i couldnt access the fire tv settings because i froze the fire tv home and the built in settings is part of the fire tv home, i tried to install regular settings.apk, i tried several different ones but it would just fail installing, i thought my regular settings was interfering with it, so i backed it up and froze the fire tv settings just to try to install regular android settings afterward, and i rebooted the stick. Now my stick is stuck at the fire stick logo and wont boot, im sure its because i froze the settings, since it booted fine with root before i froze that, and that was the only change i did. Anyone got any ideas on how i can fix it?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Deershoot3r
I had the same issue with the FireTv Stick but another os.
I had a hardware rooted FireTv-Stick on Software: 54.1.1.0_user_110031420. That means FireOS 3, not FireOS 5.
Yesterday I let the stick push some file with ES-File-Explorer to my NAS. In this process the system restart (I think because to much power consumption and less powerfull usb port yesterday).
Now it does not start anymore. @deershoot3r
Perhaps we had a chance to get our sticks back by flashing a stock-rom from amazon.
Once I read something about fastboot and recovery possibilities.
At first you should load your stock-rom from here: http://www.aftvnews.com/software/
Perhaps we can connect a usb cable and start fastboot, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57308281&postcount=6

fastboot kicks in as soon as you power off your unit, if you get to the amazon logo it is already too late however fastboot will not work for you anyway as your firestick boot loader is locked.
