Hello everyone, I have a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and never had any issues until it began to run too slow to use even after factory reset but thankfully I found Lineage OS and it revived my old tablet. Although it functions better I still have numerous issues, non detrimental though. First, I get a frequent "App" stopped working errors but they seem to be false positives and never actually indicate a frozen app but occasionally I get a genuine one, mainly YouTube. I discovered that my tablet would restart every time I attempt to use any app that uses my IR, disappointing because I liked to use it as my tv remote.
Now the main issue I am here to ask about is, when I restart or shut down my tablet, it does not clear my tasks like it used to before I installed Lineage, it is almost like its just going into sleep mode and not actually shutting down. Most times when I restart or freshly boot I find the tasks still open and the tablet is slower than before The OS was install. How do I get it to clear tasks without always doing it manually. Or is there something I can use as a workaround.
Device is rooted with Lineage OS 13 expresso-Wifi Nightly 2017-07-15
Forgot to mention running Marshmallow
I use 3C System Tuner Pro to tame my system. It can automatically manage tasks for you in the background. It has sped up my Tab 2 significantly and is available from Google Play.

Rooted gt-5110, noticed very recently that I have weird lag, it seems to be totally dependent on the app though. I mostly use all stock apps and when I use things like the stock internet browser and I use my bookmarks the screen the marks are on will flash several times as if its refreshing the list. Sometimes this flash will happen 5 or so times before I can actually choose something. Ive checked my power settings and have it set disabled, I also frequently check the built in task manager for running apps and I use clean master. Everything seems copacetic as far as settings go but overall it just seems slower.
Btw the only root app I have installed are SuperSU, Titanium Backup Pro and Multiwindow Manager.
For a device that has the same specs as my note 2 it just seems slower. I dont know if thats because it takes more muscke to drive the higher pixel count on the screen or if its something else.

Has anyome else recieved a stability update on the 8.4?
yes for the US SM-T320 8.4 but I'm getting random reboots. it was fine on the earlier version, never had any random reboots. I tried to factory reset after the update but still the same. it seems to do a soft random reboot when you are doing something on the tablet and you leave it idle for a few seconds. It never rebooted while I'm actively using it even if the load is high..

Mine says device modified, I am rooted - any workaround?
I'm currently uploading the new ND3 DeOdex ROM base now. (Tab Pro 8.4 Wi-Fi)
I will also upload the bootloader firmware (Odin flashable) too.
I managed to capture a logcat but I can't seem to identify the cause of reboots, can anyone assist with that pls...

TabPro 8.4 random restarts
Hello guys
So, it appears i am not alone then.
The school i work in as an IT tech, has purchased us 2 TabPro 8.4 tablets and the one i have has given me hell so far with these random reboots.
It has the latest update and is also rooted. It has nothing to do with the root i believe as it did it before and also after applying the latest OTA update. I have now factory reset it and noticed a slight difference in the home screen where i now have 2 pages (1 home screen of course) wheres, as far as i remember, when i first turned it on it only had 1. I may be wrong though.
I didn't sign in to any accounts yet (google, samsung dropbox etc.) and left it with Google chrome and Samsung own browser open. I suppose only time will tell now. It's really bloody frustrating though because i spent hours loading all my apps again and restoring app data via Helium etc.
Another thing i noticed is that even i after wiping the tablet via recovery (Wipe device/factory reset option) it actually kept root.
New device, issues gone
Got my replacement unit from John Lewis today (i must say their service is the best i have seen) and spent hours on the device rooting it and installing all the apps i had on my other unit.
I have not encountered one single reboot so far , whereas my previous unit restarted on me pretty much 30 minutes after i first turned it on.
My advice to you is if you are having stability issues and random restarts with your TabPro 8.4, send it back for a replacement.
I installed the update also and haven't had any issues or random reboots either. The screen sensitivity fixes are great. Huge difference.
I spoke too soon it seems. It did restart on me. Twice. Once whilst caching images on quickpic app and second time installing Samsung's own office suite of applications.

What is this? Stability or Instability update? Sammy, why?
anyone who doesn't suffer from Random reboots, are you rooted?
also those who suffer from reboots, are you all rooted?
My the Theory: I think this reboots are related to being rooted or have knox void.
Mine restarted before root but after I installed the OTA update. I since rooted it but it didn't change a thing obviously. God knows how many times it reboots a day. I leave it in airplane mode with a few apps running and after a couple of hours I notice that the apps that ran on the background are not there anymore so I figured out it restarted. is there anyway to uninstall the OTA update???

Stability update
Since reverting back to old version (and rooting the device again) i have suffered 0 random reboots. Looks like the latest update screws something up.

I have two 8.4's and they both boot when I wake them up. They are rooted with Xposed, but I uninstalled Xposed and tried one without it and it still boots at random. So IMO Xposed/root isn't causing the trouble.
See my other post... wonder if that'll fix this. I'd almost rather have the reboots over the screen sensitivity problem, but either way, the tabs aren't really usable.
Rich
I have used my tab pro 8.4 now for 5 days running on the old firmware rooted and with xposed running, without a single glitch. I'd strongly advise people to avoid updating the tablets to the latest ND3 firmware.

I purchased a tab pro 8.4 a few weeks ago and was noticing random reboots several times an hour. A couple of days later I got the update and didn't see any change in reboot behavior. Couldn't link it to anything at all as it happened before as well as after rooting and adding Xposed.
Changed to Average Joe's debloated (elsewhere in the forums) and have had zero random reboots since. Also running several exposed modules without any problems. Purely anecdotal, but it appears to have increased the overall responsiveness of the device while keeping most of the good things Samsung put on top of stock Android.
New update
Samsung released a new update to the TabPro 8.4 which is supposed to improve stability and add "Kids mode" (firmware version ending with NE3). I gave it a go and the random reboots got back! wiped my device clean and installed NAI firmware and all is well again!
Hey guys, I have a new tab pro 8.4 wifi, I've been having a lot of freezing and crashing problems and would like some guidance on how to gather crash logs/data and figure out what's going on. I did root the os with but besides that I have not installed xposed or really screwed around with anything that I would think would cause this much system instability. I notice that something is running in the background and my touchscreen becomes completely unresponsive, during that time the wireless indicator shows activity both ways. I can use the three buttons at the bottom and bring up task manager, if I clear ram the tablet instantly functions normally. Sometimes the tab just reboots with no warning...
I am new to android but a network and storage engineer with microsoft/citrix/vmware/cisco technologies so i am slightly technical although not a dev or programmer.
Thanks for the help, I've started by installing a live catlog reader

Anyway I figured it out by watching the catlog.. It was wondershare Android app causing the issues..

I've had the zenwatch for almost 2 weeks and i will be keeping it. That being said here is a heads up, i found that using the app facer to make watch faces and using wear mini launcher together causes a good bit of lag when performing any action on the watch. to remedy this issue i downlaoded watch maker and low behold the lag went away. so if anyone is haven a lag issue check into what apps you are use to make your watch faces and also what launcher u have choosen. hope you guys find this helpfull .
So, did you uninstall wear mini launcher ?

no i switched to watch maker it works better with min launcher
I've actually had this happen a number of times and I'm not sure why. It doesn't seem to have a consistent cause. Usually it'll be when I install a new app or something, but it's happened other times as well, but it doesn't happen consistently with one app or another. For me, the lag shows up as the screen basically being frozen without being able to control anything. Eventually, it will unfreeze and I'll usually see the mini-launcher screen, but even a restart with the back button won't solve the freeze.
For me, it was worse when I had Mini Launcher installed, but it still happens occasionally without it. I no longer have either Facer or Watchmaker installed, either. I'm using the Weather Watch Face, though. I wonder if it has something to do with watch faces in general?
When I was using Mini Launcher, apps would almost never launch the first time I tapped on them. It would go back to the watch face and freeze for a few seconds, and force me to go back to Mini Launch and tap again. Without Mini Launcher, this still happens occasionally from the built-in Start... item, but much less frequently.
I have all 3 installed and it doesn't seem to lag too bad. I guess I don't interact with it the same as I would with a phone so it doesn't bother me at all. Whenever I get a card it interacts with it seamlessly, that's about as much as I need it to do

Interacting with cards hasn't been a problem for me, either, it's launching an app that's not already running that seems to be the issue. Sometimes (or almost every time for me with Mini Launcher), the new app doesn't come to the foreground, and the watch appears to hang for several seconds. It then has to be launched a second time to become visible.
I've definitely seen it lag like that. Hopefully it's just a software issue with android wear being so new and updates will help fix that. It's got plenty of processor and ram torrun the tiny apps no problem
I noticed a considerable amount of lag while using mini launcher. To the point that I didn't even want to show off the watch to other people because it made it seem terrible. Major difference since uninstalling, lag free now. I also use Watch Maker and a few Play Store watchfaces with no lag issues.
Wish we could move the start menu to the first selection on the tap screen instead of the last, then I really wouldn't care about a separate launcher.
1+ for deleting mini launcher. I like the app but its so dam laggy. As far as Watch Maker app works at times for me so I deleted that as well. I was using Facer until I ran into Intellicom which seems to be very easy to use and no change in my battery life.
I think this is more of a symptom of using a single core A7 processor. I imagine all of the governors and IO schedules are set up for battery life so that probably doesn't help either. It might just be coincidence that you are running something while a background task is also running.
Ever since upgrading to 12 on my Verizon Android 12 the phone has been sluggish and glitchy.
Every single thing opens slowly or is unresponsive for a bit.
I had no issues on Android 11.
I tried resetting the phone and without restoring the phone is still sluggish (though a bit better).
Apps launch slowly and the overall snappiness of the phone is very bad.
Is there a way to downgrade to Android 11?

Same here!! I've been searching for a fix... Don't seem to be an easy one available yet..?
After the phone quit downloading all the crapware the phone got much faster on Android 12 (after the reset).
I'd still rather download and install the 11 ROM. But it is 3GB and the lgup download location is transferring at 10kbps so it's gonna take a week or two to download lol.
See my cross-post here:
Android 12 on V50 is terrible
I upgraded a month or so ago. The phone became sluggish and glitchy apps took forever to launch scrolling Facebook became jittery. Terrible update. I then finally backed up my phone and reset it. Now the fresh install is randomly installing apps. I am so sick of android/Verizon installing...

Welp.
I had major problems with g'board after the android 12 os upgrade.
I tried using a separate keyboard; it wasn't better.
keyboard would refuse to launch in my messenger+ app amongst other apps.
Later, once I reset the phone to factory the keyboard problem was reduced. But it has slowly grown in frequency until I had to uninstall g'board and use LG keyboard. That worked for a bit, until the same thing happened. I now have zero keyboards that show up when I am trying to type a message.
Yay thanks Android12/LG (( Booo stupid update is bad.
