I don't use my Z2 for much voice, but during the last two calls I got a reboot. Anybody seen this? Advanced Calling, BT, Wifi are all on.
I use mine daily for voice (via BT) and have not experienced a reboot. However, I have the advanced calling features disabled (both HD voice and WiFi). My wife's Droid turbo 2 had such bad voice quality with HD voice enabled that I won't even try to use it. But that's a different discussion.
I do face random reboots but not on calls.

Title says it all. When I'm talking on the phone I'm unable to use wifi data. Browsing, apps which require data, maps, nothing workings while on a call.
I am running CM6 stable but this issue has been around for a while that I can remember.
Is there a work around? Could I be doing something wrong?
Thanks
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but as far as i'm aware you can't use data and calls at the same time unless if your using 4g, which of course MC6 doesn't yet support.

You cannot use 3g data while on a call but I cannot see why you cannot use WIFI while on a call. I will test this on Stock Rooted and let you know in a few minutes.
It must be and issue with CM6 as I am able to make a call and surf the web, access the market, etc.. using WIFI at the same time with stock rooted..

Thanks for the confirmation. I've wondered this as well but I haven't noticed any other CM6 user complain about this issue. Maybe there's something in the settings I need to enable?
Its not cm6 or whatever I am having the same issue. No email or surfing while on the phone and simultaneously connected to wifi. Like the first post "title says it all". I am on Stock sprint rom. Just updated to the 3.70, but this problem has been going on noticably for a week prior maybe longer. I was hoping the update would fix it. Any thoughts? or answer?
You can use wifi whiles on a call to browse internet and use apps that require data. I been doing so since I first got a evo months ago. I only used it on one asop rom and that's cm 6.0 rc2 it worked fine when my gf was annoying me with her boring convo lol so i put on the bluetooth headphones and acted like i was paying attention whiles i was one facebook.
When is the last time you tried? I have been trying to use it on a calls all day, with no luck. Only time Wifi connects is when I hang up.
Scenario a: Wifi is turned off; I initiate call; try to turn on Wifi; Wifi will not connect .
Scenario b: Wifi is on; I initiate call; Wifi will not allow surfing until the phone is hung up.
Also when running speed test while on phone will produce very low speeds less than 64k when my speed should be around 12mbps. Again once phone is hung up the speeds return to normal. The speeds resemble a connection that is being throttled.
Are you connected to a Bluetooth headset while in a call?
Just noticed the blue tooth issue. Thanks for the response, but what gives. Surfing used to work while on bluetooth/phone call. For a while that was my only way to listen to music through my BT headset. I had to initiate a call to voicemail and play Iheart.

Heh, it's hit and miss for me.
What i've discovered is......
-If WiFi and the Bluetooth device are connected before initiating the call, it should work fine.
-Sometimes, the Bluetooth device can be connected later, as long as WiFi is connected to a network before call is initiated.
-You can disconnect the Bluetooth device during a call, turn on speaker [or not] to continue the call, and WiFi will connect, but will probably disconnect when you reconnect the Bluetooth device.
-Using method above, you can sustain WiFi connectivity whilst Bluetooth device is connected if you start to browse a website or launch a data required app such as an IM or online radio app, then while it's in the middle of connecting to one of those, reconnect the Bluetooth device.
Lot of trouble? Hell yes. I'm not sure if this is a problem with HTC's software or a hardware problem with having WiFi/Bluetooth on the same chip.
I was about to post this question up on the Hero forum but I found this thread. I have the same problem. Wifi will connect unless on a call but......sometimes if you are already connected before initiating call wifi will stay on FOR A BIT. After a while, wifi will disconnect on its own and if you are lucky it will reconnect later on. Note this is not alway the case. It ussually stays off. I just dont understand why this happens.
i have the tmobile version of the note 3. and when i make an outbound call while on wifi (wifi calling is off) it defaults to HD VOICE which has no ringing (only on some numbers tho, very strange) and it will have NO RINGING, almost as if its not dialing then someone will answer. Very annoying. So i have come to a conclusion that if i turn Wifi calling off, HD VOICE is gone and it WILL ring with those numbers that wouldn't before. But if i connect to wifi again then i get this issue. Is there a way to disable HD VOICE?
PS, i have SIM UNLOCKED the note 3 and have tested with att sim with same numbers and rings correctly whether or not on wifi, of course doesn't say HD VOICE tho
thanks a again

Anybody know how to fix this. I cant use wi-fi anymore because it turns on hd voice, grays out my network bar signal, and makes calls unintelligible. T-mobile had me disable "answer with voice" and wi-fi. She said this is a problem with wi-fi calling but I dont use that. I only had it set to use wi-fi if I left a good cellular area. That is off now too. Please help me fix this so I can at least use wi-fi again. By the way this happened suddenly on its own 2 days ago.
Did you ever resolve this?
I am having the exact same problem now.
Even though I have wifi calling turned off, if I have the phone connected to wifi it is using wifi for the calls.
Annoying as hell.

Anyone got updates on this? I just started getting bitten by this a couple months ago when I flashed from stock to DarthStalker (JB version not KK).
Any news about this?
HD voice
HD voice is set by the switch from the tower you are connected to, long story short if the backhaul from your tower is microwave and the person you are calling is on a tower that is Ethernet backhaul it won't sound right. Also if your in a Samsung owned market and the other person is in a ALU, pioneer, Ericson etc it won't sound right lastly the Samsung phones have 3 or more microphones on them for background and other noises to be muted so the over correction messes with HD calling and lastly wifi calling is using VoWifi and literally running a VPN from your ISP to T-Mobile so your bypassing the switch and hd voice isn't an option, so when you swap sim cards out the root system(boot straps and firmware for the motherboard is designed for t-mo switch and network and is wrote to look for t-mo) so the unlocked sim is just a software unlock to allow something else to be the read
---
I worked in the cellular telcom industry for years and HD calling is a nightmare, wifi calling is even worse because of e911 compliance and the fcc. I forgot to mention that if you have a phone case in like a loose fitting silicone sleeve type or the rubber shell on an old otterbox that's loose the vibration from your voice can cause static in the mic from the rubber vibrating by the charge port (old product known issue with noise cancelation on several phones)
---------- Post added at 04:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 AM ----------
I forgot to tell you that normally when you don't have the ringing when your calling out it is a network based issue.
It could be a nesting issue(where your phone is thinking its on a tower in the next town) so with the phone on pull the sim out(if you have to pull the sim power on wait 60 seconds then power off) then turn the phone off and reinstall the sim, an issue for the market your in, the network may think that your still using wifi calling and it never fully turned it off in the network( however by simply turning the switch off it won't disable it you have to update the emergency address and look below that and choose disable( if your software is newer the platform for wifi calling by Samsung is codenamed waterpolo and there is a crap ton if known issues with it) lastly if you phone has native and Samsung wifi calling (found on the GS6/note 5 so if you have it it would be by update only) you would have to totally reset the phone and have to-mo open a network trouble ticket for a tier 3 or higher to call you back and resolve
where I am located, if I receive or make a call the HD Voice icon comes on and I am NOT able to use data at the same time. I do not know if the phone was designed this way, but does anybody know if there is a way to disable it so I don't lose LTE when I get a phone call over CDMA?
Our device/network is capable of it yet on the note 4 some older devices have two radios instead of a single

Only something like VoLTE (Voice over LTE) will allow simultaneous voice and data.

Basically what these guys said. With the Sprint Note 4, you cannot make a phone call and use data at the same time regardless if the call is an HD voice call. The only way to make a phone call and use data is only if you are connected to Wi-Fi.
actually, I found a way around this. I enabled google voice for my sprint number, with changes my google voice to my actual sprint cell phone number. Then I use google hang outs to make phone calls. To use data instead of voice, you have to use the hangout dialer. And if you want to receive calls using data, you need to go into settings under the hangout sap, and check the box that says use hangout dialer for incoming calls. As long as the connection is -100db or better under lte and -75db or better under 3g, calls are great.

Technically that doesn't allow you voice + data. It allows you voice over data ^_^. But that also means I won't be able to do things like I could with my note 3 + custom rom. Like playing pandora from my phone to my vehicle while on a call at the same time. At least not without insane buffering issues. But this is what everyone has been using anyway. Did you disable the call monitoring? That drove me nuts until I figured out what was causing it.

You mean call screening? I absolutely did. And the nice thing is simply being able to toggle inside the settings in the Hangouts Dialer whether or not to have calls go there. That way if its a sketchy data area, I just take calls in the standard dialer so the call quality doesnt suck. It works good so far. Especially where my kids go to school while my wife is on maternity at Home. Data is good standard LTE or band 41, -80db or so, so I can talk and use the net or stream at the same time.
My device: T mobile s4 SGH-M919 using stock rom Android 4.4.4 with all OTA updates. Phone was moved to MetoPCS a year ago.
There is no coverage at my home so I rely on wifi calling to make and receive calls. For the last year it has worked just fine but in the last week I began having a very frustrating problem:
If I MAKE a call over the wifi, no problem I can hear them and they can hear me.
If I RECEIVE a call over wifi, I can hear them but they CANNOT hear me.
When I am not on wifi calling (ie using cell), everything works perfectly both making and receiving calls.
I researched the problem and this is what I have tried so far:
1. connecting to different wifi connections in entirely different locations - same problem
2. using bluetooth headphones or speaker instead of the mike - same problem
3. disabling Google Now Voice on every screen - same problem
4. factory reset - same problem
5. made sure I do not have any phone recorder apps installed (I do not)
6. switching the mute button on and off during a call - no change
Can someone please give me some advice or direct me to an answer. Needless to say Metropcs tech support is unable to solve the problem. For me this issue is not trival as I require wifi calling at home as I am in a rural area with no service.
Thank you
This happens to me as well. However, if i am to say "answer", and allow the voice command to answer the call it works properly but starts the call in speaker mode. Then you just turn off speaker, and conduct the call normally.
This has happened to me with most of the roms i have tried.
Haven't you tried on regular call? You listed no coverage in your area.. but, it should be some where 10-20miles away your area..

Yes, If I drive to a covered area and am not on wireless the calls work perfectly in both directions.
Do you figure out yet? I get a sch-m919 has reversal problem of yours. It make wifi call fine. When make regular phone call, they can't hear me and I get hear them. I guess, we have to try out the custom rom.
Hello, I've purchased a oneplus 5t but I found an issue with my apps.
With (only) whatsapp, viber, telegram the other person hears me cutting for all the duration of the call, it goes well for a couple seconds and then cutting. Kind of like an interference.
I'm connected to the WiFi and no courier data enabled, no WiFi scanning enabled, Ok Google disabled in any windows.
Skype and Google Duo have no problems whatsoever, neither does my normal phone calling.
Any suggestion? This is driving me insane.
I checked with my ISP if there were any packet loss issue but nope.
