OMS Support in android O - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, installing substratum in O DP4 asks you for root, when allowed, in substratum settings, substratum appears installed and it says the rom supports OMS, but I can't apply fonts in substratum, so then, the rom hasn't got full oms support. Any way to fix this? Or i'm missing something? this seems curious

I believe substratum supports android O, it's just that most themes aren't updated yet. Could be different for fonts so hopefully someone else can weigh in?
For instance, I have Dark Accents for O and Swift Dark installed. Dark Accents for O works on the system ui and everything, but Swift Dark does not. Swift Dark themes some apps properly, but not all. It's using OMS, but I don't think there's many themes supporting O yet

What Substratum themes are compatible with Sultans Nougat release?

Hello, I recently flashed Sultans Nougat rom and after some problems with some of Substratums themes bootlooping I now wonder what black(amoled) Substratum themes are working for you guys? I asume that I am not the only one that really want this rom + Substratum. Share what you have found working and not working.

Swift dark and black will work.
Check Google for substratum legacy themes
I also reccomend Swift Black (my current theme).
You would stay quiet if your rom include OMS, that's a framework layer which improve Substratum theme support.
Ps be careful that you may encounter FC when app updates are massively involving the interface.
In that case consider to re-enable theme or disable it until next update.

Substratum support on Xperia ROMs?

Hey guys, I have an old Xperia XA living around, and I'm planning to root it soon and use substratum themes with Sony's ROM, but I'm confused if it's even substratum compatible or not.
Please let me know, thanks.

I don't think so. I don't know exactly how it works. I don't think it's quite like Xposed, where there needs to be a special framework in place, (since many Substratum themes do work on Los14, which is not officially supported), but I think there does need to be a compatible environment, similar to or based on AOSP. I think Xperia has it's own version of theming framework. For example, many of the files that control the UI on an Xperia are named 'somc_(something)'. Those files are specific to Sony phones, so a different theme engine wouldn't by default have any references to them.
However, I've never tried...
Is not working. You won't see any changes
Update: I know this is old and you might figured out but I will say this for others :
Substratum is working on Xperia ROMs but you need to use legacy theme, and some themes may break your systemUI but you can recover easy using twrp and others would not do anything at all. But I found ones that are working.
So: Find theme that supports legacy devices (rooted devices) and if your device doesn't start go to twrp file manager /data/apps and find the code name of the selected overlay: ex (themename.systemui...) Or something like this

So, for theming the systemUI I used only Grace UX. I used Navbars to change my system navigation bar and it seems to work, not only with that but with every theme that allows you to change system navbar. They don't crash your SystemUI. You can use themes to change your settings menu, not all work just some of them.
I have only installed:
Galaxy Evolution - Not working with the SystemUI
GraceUX - Everything works
Navbars which is working
I might test other themes and give you a feedback if you want
hello again...can you give me the link of the theme you use ?? (Grace UX)I can not find it thanks
also i test many themes on substratum theme engine and nothing happend.

Substratum Options

Hey all... Just got my 5T today and tried to install an Ozone overlay and ended up not being able to boot. Anyone have any confirmed Substratum overlays that work?

I only use ozone for "clear all button position" and "LTE" icon.
I tried Flux and it wouldn't boot. Had to flash substratum recovery zip.
What would work at this point for a dark navbar and dark notifications? Tried Swiftdark for system ui and it didn't do the trick....(first OnePlus device, coming from a few years of HTC so I'm just now getting the hang of things)
Is substratum working also for non rooted users?
Update... I've got Swift Black working fine, but I've avoided theming the system UI.

I guess we have to wait until Oreo rolls out. Oreo supports OMS by default, even non-rooted user can theme their devices :good: you just have to use a paid helper app called andromeda, even though the app is not for free I highly recommend it because it supports the amazing substratum developer team.

Does theming SydtemUI with Swift make you bootloop?
Do you have root access?

I have root yes. I just assumed theming things like Recents and the QS tile background is what did it... Maybe I'm wrong?
Over at the google plus page of substratum theme they said depends on the Oreo rom one plus puts for the 5t whether andromeda will work or not .. it’s working perfectly on my stock 6p

System UI Colors/Accent

Does anyone have any idea his to change the System UI color or accent because the Teal is very ugly. I hope there is a method without root because I'm not trying to lose OTA's.
I used Substratum X Andromeda via ADB enabled and now since it isn't allowed with Android Pie I can't edit anything without root.
Any ideas anyone? :crying: :highfive:

In Oreo it is possible by installing the apk of the color you want. When done that, it enables "Themes" in "Screen" in "Settings"
Google it, I found them in Mi A1 sub

Works here on Oreo
This magisk module is working on A2 lite pie
Pix3lify from magisk also works like a charm, it even makes everything rounder just like it is on Pixel devices and roms.

Hey everyone! I have found something you will be interested in. If you have root you can buy and install "Swift Installer - Themes & Color Engine" you use magisk and root to apply overlays and you can choose your notification tool area transparency, your full device accent, and better yet it supports apps like Snapchat, GApps (Google Apps), Instagram, Spotify and more I will put the list of apps below!
List of apps your theme will get applied to: https://goo.gl/gS84kK
Google Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brit.swiftinstaller
I have been using this ever since it released its like their own Substratum Engine but awesome and for Pie users

Substratum Themes for Pie

Hi guys.
Anyone know any substratum themes for oneUI pie.
Currently using the aospUI black theme. Works with stock samsung, needs to have sungstratum mode enabled though, to use the legacy install method since OMS is only available with root. There's a gray and a white version of the theme as well IIRC.
