In low light (when the flash is needed) the camera takes too long to take the picture, around 10-12 seconds. In daylight or good light conditions, the camera Works as expected, no more than 2 seconds to take the picture. Does anyone have this issue?

hmm... that's taking too long with flash in low light... but anyways, you must have steady hands and be patient for the best of pic quality...

T-Mobile TP2 Camera Stutter

Is it normal for the TP2 picture to stutter when trying to take a picture. If there is perfect lighting in the picture there is no stuttering in the picture, but if there is a light source or if it goes from the dark to a light area it stutters badly as it attempts to balance light levels and focus.
Does anyone else have this issue or is this normal?
When you say "stutter" I suppose you mean that your pics come out blurry due to your device shaking in your hands?
This is normal in low light conditions. Since there's not enough light, the camera compensates by slowing the shutter speed to allow more light to pass through the lens. The bad side to this is the slow shutter speed will also exaggerate any camera movement and this translates to blurry photos unless your device is fixed on a stationary object (and your subject is not moving).
yes! that is exactly what I am seeing. Yeah, i did not know that was normal. the screen refresh was so choppy it is hard to take a clear picture in low light. This is my first nice phone ive had and i am not used to all the features. Thanks for explaining that to me, I appriciate it!
You're very welcome, man. Just so you know, this isn't specific to our TP2. It applies for all cameras. Those with a flash would help a bit, but not much if it is really dark.
If you try to take a picture with any camera outdoors at night without a tripod and flash, it'll come out terrible.
I just laughed when I read the TP2 camera was 3.2 with no flash.
I will never use the camera because the pictures will come out looking like crap 90% of the time.
The camera for me is honestly useless. But oh well, the rest of the phone makes up for it.
camera works good with barcorama app. takes decent pics in well lit areas

Unbelievably fast. Double tap to open camera when it's sleeping, and it's almost instant.
3.2.1 seems to have slowed the camera down a bit. Anyone else notice that the capture time has gone up?

ya bit for capture time, for start up i haven't use it much when i was on 3.1.3
Simply fast.
Very fast !
Circle gesture to turn on. 'Nuff said..
This is the fastest camera to launch I think I've ever seen in person. I mean, it's not quite dSLR power on and shoot fast ... but ... damn. Between the circle gesture, double tap power button, and double tap fingerprint sensor to launch, this thing is ready to rock faster than you can get it out of your pocket. Very impressive. And it takes a pretty good photo too! Yes, there ARE better cameras out there in phones - but not at this price.
With the circle gesture on the screen in standby mode, this is the fastest camera launch on a smartphone. Never miss a moment again due to late camera start. Superb!

What's so bad about the camera - here are a few photos

Here are a few photos I've taken over the past several days. One tip is that if you tap on the screen on the area you want to expose properly the lighting will adjust for that area and you will get a better exposure than without tapping. Same goes for the selfie camera - if the view on the screen looks over exposed tap on that area to get the proper exposure - you'll have about 5-8 seconds to hit the shutter afterwards. Good luck, Tom

Thx for photos
Im planing to buy LH V30 but the problem is im so scary to buy it because sometimes I think camera is very bad. 1,6F is good but 1um pixel size is very bad. And LG don't invest so much in LG camera application. You can see the problems like slow motion low bitrate - bad quality. And EIS is very bad. LG is big company but they still don't do things on write way. Like OnePlus 5 have just EIS and it is like Google Pixel phone, fantastic stability on every video. Why LH didn't do this? Why they put 1um pixel size camera? And etc...
But still I like this phone so much it is like All in One. I will see in near future what to do
P. S.
Coming from OP5, I would like to sell it and buy LG V30. The OP5 have very bad camera at low light and night.
And when I go to rooms where is very low light or like no light at all like sometimes in discotheque and I took photo with OP5 with flash ON the photo is still very, very BAD, so much noise and photo is not clean and small details. And when my friend with Samsung S7 or S8 took photo in the same place, then is different story. The photo is very beautiful, clean and no noises, so much details and very, very good like DSLR. The flash on S7 and S8 is very good.
Can you (or someone) please take few photo in low light and total night with LG V30 and Note 8 (or Samsung S7,S8), to compare photos. This will help me a lot. It will be good to potograph some person in the very dark and in bad light with flash ON.
Thx you a lot!

Better focus too so sharper in low light as well. This i have noticed on my v20
The g4 wasn't like this, pretty much aim and fire and focus was always good. Strange there still is a IR focus assist so it shouldn't be necessary
Not fast shooters but i'm ok with that. If i need speed i know what to do in manual

Low light

At the club, at the bar, or just in your mom's basement, nighttime is when you come out to play. Rate this thread to express how the Sony Xperia XA2's camera performs when no or low light is present. A higher rating indicates that the camera sensor "sees" lots of light in dim conditions, and that the resulting photos have minimal noise. A higher rating also indicates that when the flash fires, the resulting photo is evenly-lit without any bright spots.

Troll, very troll.
In manual mode by lowering the shutter (SS) the Xperia XA2 takes beautiful pictures in dark environments.
However, the HDR mode must be deactivated

Yea, and always walk with tripod. Just go to dxomark. Two years old phones take 90-95 points. But this Xa2 takes only 75.

DXOmark... come on. We all are serious here. DXOmark clowns have no idea about photography quality.
Miniature tripod does the job well. I always carry one with me in my backpack daily (it very lightweight, so I don't even feel it).
But then, if you want to take beautiful night picture :
- mount the phone on tripod,
- set to manual,
- turn off HDR,
- set exposure to 1 sec (longest time)
... and prepare for a shock. It clearly shows how big sh*t Sony Superior Auto is in low light.
If you use a thrird camera app with a slow shutter speed and lowering the iso, you get good results

To be honest, for me is SLOW.
It is not slow opening Camera app, but it is slow processing taken photo. With my previous Galaxy S7 I could take several photos in few seconds (not maintaining button...that is not what i am looking for). With S10, It takes more time to process previous photo and take new one

I would suggest turning off scene optimizer from the camera settings. That helped with the wait in between shots for me

I did that but no way.
My sister has taken some photos with my s10 right now and she has just told me that it's very slow comparing with her s7....
Pretty slow... Especially if you open the camera and try to take several pictures right away. Or else if you open it and try changing cameras to snap a few pics. Cycling through camera modes is also painful.

Make sure your photos are going to internal memory vs external as that's faster.

Yes, you are right, saving to internal storage is faster then to external, but it should not be so. In my old s7 I have for saving photos external storage (ordinary san disk 64 GB). And s7 is faster in this case as s10+. I was and still Iam surprise, because s7 is 3 years old device. Shame...
I also notice (before note 10 camera update, at this time I dont have s7 anymore) that some pictures was better taken with s7. For me is camera on s10 disappointing. I expected more.
