I bought a carrier unlocked Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920P) online that ran Android 5.1.1. I used it here (not in NZ) and I wanted the Android 7.0 Nougat update but I couldn't update it OTA due to the fact that my phone was supposedly running on a custom software. So I flashed the (SM-G920P) 7.0 Firmware for Sprint but now I can't detect my mobile network. Also on the back of my phone, it says at the bottom "SM-G920R4". What do I need to do to get my mobile service again? A carrier unlocked phone can't lock again right?
If I'm correct, the g920r4 is on US Cellular

Hi all
purchased a phone from an online store in AUS which claimed to be a sm-n910F note 4 but had hacked software, after some help from this site it was identified as being an Verizon SM-910V in cognito, long story short flashed it with original sm-n910V software, when it starts its says Verizon and works fine on the Australian network. I plugged it into KIES and upgraded to Marshmallow firmware but I am one of the 900 Million phones that has the QUALCOMM vulnerability and I want to patch it when the security patch is released in september but when I go to use the software update on the phone it says this service is temporarily unavailable assuming because its looking for the Verizon network and I am on virgin residing in Australia. When I go into KIES it tells me there is a firmware upgrade but its trying to install the full Marshmallow firmware again. Anybody know of a way to trick the phone into thinking its on the Verizon network so it will download updates or could I simply grab the security download when its released and install directly to the phone via ODEN. Lesson never buy a phone that's coming from over seas its a real headache if you end up with something dodgy, thanks to anybody who can offer advice

BOOTLOOP --> unlocked edge plus (G928F) firmware on a at&t edge plus (G928A) ?
hey guys,
My brothers unrooted at&t s6 edge+ (SM-G928A) entered an infinite bootloop on at&t's crappy software. We live in europe, so we can't get a replacement or get it fixed, even thought it's still eligible for warranty.
It started bootlooping again today after doing a factory data reset and manually installing last month's security updates
I read somewhere it's impossible to install the G928F's stock firmware or any other rom made for the unlocked s6 edge+ on the at&t edge plus.
Is this true?
If so, why? The hardware should be exactly the same (except maybe for some bands missing), right?
In the past I have flashed stock firmware on various samsung phones bloated by carriers, so I don't get why it wouldn't be possible now.
Thanks in advance!!
PS: I'm quite experienced when it comes to rooting, flashing and modding. So by installing a new rom I mean through a custom recovery. I understand it's not possible to install G928F firmware on a G928A via odin, as the model numbers aren't matching.
bump?
first of all i shoud state im over in the UK using SKY mobile(02 signal). So I picked up a used S9 last week and every thing seemed ok but i could not understand why is would not update from android 8 to 9. it turns out is a grey import sm960u USA phone and would not update unless the orig carrier sim was in and i was in the usa. i checked its imei and belived it to be on sprint SPR and downloaded the latest firmware and installed via odin. Now the phone will now not connect to my 4G, i have now found out that Sprint uses CMDA and not GSM that i require in UK .Stupidly i did not check which frimware version the phone was running before flashing it. Is there a USA firmware i can install which will get me back on 4g, maybe without carrier bloatware. i understand that i cannot flash it with sm960f firmware but maybe able to use sm960u1 firmware as this is the plain unlocked version
Can I flash Verizon firmware on the unlocked Note 10? I need to be able to use VOLTE and HD calling in order to use my Galaxy Watch
I think you just need an unlocked phone my VoLte is on and I haven't flashed anything extra
