Lollipop update is officially rolling out on Sprint Devices, so hopefully we're next/soon.
http://newsroom.sprint.com/blogs/de...int-enhanced-with-android-lollipop-update.htm
Seeing how close the devs are to getting this device root I suggest holding off on accepting the update when it does roll out.

Because that's what people do here. That and start threads asking if there's root, or when Lollipop is coming to our version. Or come up with conspiracy theories as to why we don't yet have Lollipop. Or...
Well, you get it. Lol

It's safe to say: Root is not coming. I would jump on Lollipop asap. Anything is better than the current lag on this phone. Hopefully its less Samsung customed like how they did the New S6.
I also have a Tmobile rooted also, so I know how laggy the AT&T version is. Heck, my Moto G (2014) is snappier.

This is official and rolling out now. News update, not a "it's coming someday" thing. Maybe I'll start a "Android M (Mars bar) is coming..." thread.

I can't wait for everyone that posts this defeatist statement to jump to 5+ then come back and complain and cry when we have root and they dont. Good luck with 5+ and I will silently chuckle when I see your posts down the road on how 5+ sucks.

It not really familiar with proof of concept when related to android, do they generally lead somewhere or could these mean nothing?
When the hell is the European unlocked model getting Nougat? Its supposed to be "on the way" the past 2 months and still no update whilst the US has it and is already preparing for 7.1 . Gettin fed up at this stage! One of the reasons i bought the phone was because HTC seemingly are quick with the updates

LOL !
Most Android OEMs are similar in one way or another. Interesting thing is that average consumers usually don't care about these updates as we do. I have Moto X 2013 and when Motorola said that they will not upgrade this phones passed Android 5.1, I decided not to buy Moto products again and I didn't. Another phone I had was Xperia Z3 Compact and with Android 5/5.1 there should of been VoLTE support, but it never came to my unlocked unit and I too said that will not purchase another Sony phone and kept my word. It doesn't really matter if we turn our back on HTC and get another brand, we will face the same problem again. I do have HTC 10 myself, but it is sim free US version and only couple of weeks ago found out that EU version is lagging behind in software updates.
I was pissed off so converted my Taiwanese HTC 10 to US unlocked and voila!

The whiners and complainers won't be satisfied until they get their update, then the whining and complaining will start all over again because "this" sucks and "that" sucks and they will all want to go back to MM.
I've seen it with every new version of Android.

I saw that post, and that guy's reply. To say he doesn't care if you're a mod or whatever.... I consider that border line insulting (I don't want to get an infraction for writing down what he deservs). Anyway, old story, it's gonna happen with every update Google rolls out, and we can't help that. There should be a complaint thread for those people to write what ever they want, so they don't spam "our" threads [emoji4]
so do something about it. I was tired of waiting for bell to release it so... unlocked my phone to US and did the update. My battery life doubled pretty much and it's because of the WiFi drain on 6.0.1 stock rom that's not present on nougat

I'm not a jerk and certainly not polish. Don't insult me !
Even the WRITTEN XDA RULE is to SEARCH (and yes there is a function for that) before posting.
So don't blame me but XDA for making that rule !
Bye and good luck
Instead of doing the typical british thing of complaining, I just converted my phone to US and installed the RUU and converted back to WWE afterwards. And then the Nougat custom ROMS came along, so I went back to LeeDroid Although I did tweet at HTC to ask if they knew when, they just told me "Software updates are created by Google and are distributed by carriers to phone users" ... at which point I said "I dont think carriers do WWE/International/Unlocked. And Google don't make the updates for HTC specifically" ... I never did get a reply.
Just went on emui.huawei.com to copy and provide a link of an EMUI 5 update for an user in need, and this i what I've got (see pic in attachment). Huawei already removed almost every package from their consumers site, and the page will be even closed standing to what is wrote on the pop-up notice... What do you think about this (in my opinion) bad move that Huawei choose to make about update packages?
What a strange move with a pure PR reason given too

Seems really an hazardous movement since that i don't think that the problem could ever be servers costs the packages are extremely useful particularly for customers allowing them to restore soft-bricked phones...
That is awful, what if someone got a bootloop and needs a package?!
What a stupid move from Huawei. I feel more comfortable by going to an official site and download the firmware from there, but now Huawei will make lots of users uncomfortable
Thats bad. noob user who brick their phones may have found such things useful now they are stuck
Meh...
Not a big deal. My Mate 9 does not have any update packages to begin with on that site so i use this

Ofcourse there is backup frok Team MT.
But official is something different. 3rd party may shutdown anytime as they basically might be taking the packages from backend Huawei database and if they restrict then we may be stuck
Huawei you should think again .. And think again with your bootloader unlocking server .. You remembered me apple strategies !!
What's wrong with them ,why on earth they did this , this is just bad

Yeah the necessity to have a secure package ready to flash that could fix your phone is the thing that matters most, minding at the fact that developers could rely on original sources...

Yes but firmware finder never could be satisfying compared to an accurate package SURELY compatible with your phone variant, provided by your phone's manufacturer, and so, 100% working!

No one said this by what i can read, it's simply a move that (with no doubts) leave users perplexed.
I had my hopes in Huawei/Honor, but this is one big step back in my opinion. Supplying the customers with downloadable firmware packages is the least you could expect. That's a shame.. ?
My next phone will not be from Huawei.
Seems like Huawei is trying it's best to make it's services worst in Mobile Phone market. Good try Huawei, you had good days and as I said you "had".

Definitely agree with you, is just the minimum that a person could except from his phone's brand. Even the time that they keep supporting phones on updates is minor than other manufacturers, (Samsung for example) and they decide to remove released packages too now.
Ugh. As a Mate 2 user I thought my firmware had disappeared due to age. Now apparently this is a trend for Huawei. Can you say "forced obsolescence" folks?
For what it's worth, I did find the following link from Huawei that seems to house the firmware:
http://m.huawei.com/pkmobile/consumer/support/downloads/index.htm
Got to it from my phone; haven't tried it from my desktop.
But who knows how long that will last?
I got mine from my device support page where you'd find the manual and stuff:

Same here! Thankful I downloaded Emui 3 (Lollipop) for MT2-L03 a while ago. My phone has long since disappeared.
Another thing: I sent a technical question to the Huawei Emui team almost a week ago - still no response. Coincidence? Hard to believe this isn't somehow related. And I don't usually wear tinfoil hats.
There isn't any official announcement but. Seeing the pattern of providing update and the maintenance release notes for June patch. no one can expect Oreo till August/September as. It would take July to get updated security patch on every retail channel after which they will release another release which MAY be oreo. Which would actually take another month for full implementation.
Though I have created a tagline for Moto

I get your frustration with Motorola, but Huawei is much worse. They put out a public statement about major upgrades and patching and then did neither. Customer support was horrible.
Moto may suck, but Huawei sucks much more.

True. And this is nothing compared to Samsung.
S7 Oreo update: Buggy. Stopped. Two times.
S8 Oreo update: Buggy.
A3 Oreo update: Bootlooping.
Hell, I would never buy a Sammy.
Better a late and stable update than a quick and buggy one.

I really want to, but those camera bugs on Oreo custom roms annoys me, so I'm using stock rom again and one reason that I bought this phone months ago is because Motorola said that it was going to update to Oreo, which is frustrating to not seeing it yet.
Oreo will happen.
It's just a matter of when?
We're just lower down the priority list than newer phones (like any other manufacturer).
We should hopefully be next after Moto G5S, so watch for when that starts rowling out.
Full OTA's and full images are available. There is currently only one version. Nothing specific for US carriers.

We don't know which area this release is targeted at, we are guessing. Possible guesses:
1) It is for US and EU
2) It is for EU, US to follow later
3) It is for US, EU to follow later.
My guess is 1.
Normally, I'd be all over this, but with such a vague listing, I'll wait it out a little.
Well at this rate my P6P will be on eBay soon, can't be doing with much more freezing and bad signal
Is this the same update that I've just received which is about 41.3mb?
