Lenovo P2 S233 System Search broken? - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Just updated manually to ROW S233 and noticed that compared to S062 the system settings search seems flaky and incomplete.
For example, I used to be able to search for 'fon' or 'dis' to bring up 'font size' or display'....now neither of these work whereas some others still do.
Can anyone else confirm?

I found the solution for this here:

"I cleared data and cache from settings app and it's worked for me. Not factory reset and clear cache from recovery. I went into settings>apps>allaps, settings>storage and clear cache and data"
That totally fixed it instantly for me.

Thanks for testing. Mine is completely broken.
'fon' brings up nothing at all. And 'dis' brings up some settings, none of which are 'display' related.

Market app problem?

Hey guys I seem to have some kind of problem with the market app. When I try to update an app it just stays on "starting download" forever. Installing new apps also "paused". Anybody have a similar problem and find a solution to it? Thanks in advance.
Try signing into Google talk. Sometimes that's enough to get the market working again.
just going to wipe and reflash and see what happens.
You might want to clear the cache and clear data for the market app first. I was having strange issue with it last week (not displaying my installed apps and installs taking forever). I did this and it works like a charm.
Settings -> Manage Apps -> Find the market app and clear cache/data.
Worth a try.

It worked actually. Thanks man. Maybe something was corrupt in the data. I tried clearing the cache only cause I didn't want to mess with the data and that didn't really do anything, but when I cleared the data and the cache it helped. Thanks.

This is a recurring problem in the market and that procedure always fixes it. I hope the newer version of the market is more reliable.

Do I'm running everything stock, including stock launcher and after a reboot my phone icon disappeared. Still says phone underneath icon, but icon is missing. Anyone else have this happen or know a fix?

+1
Reboot has not fixed mine.
Have you tried clearing the cache from the phone application? I don't think clearing the data will make you lose any important information since contacts used an app called "contact storage. " if you choose to clear data, you may miss out on your settings. Also try downloading a different launcher and then going back to TW

Calculator doesn't work on 6.0.1?

It's the original calculator and it crashed immediately when I open it
Is there anyone else who meet the problem. How to solve it?

I also got this issue, anyone has a clue? at my nexus 6 btw
I got the 6.0.1 OTA just now and I'll check once it's installed. Maybe try wiping data and/or cache for it?
UPDATE: Just checked and not an issue for me. Running stock and not rooted... yet.

Just an idea but go to your Developer options then scroll to the very bottom and select Inactive apps. Touch to toggle it for calculator and try again.

Thankyou for the brain storming you guys, still it didnt had any effect.
6p, and I have the same issue.. Strange.
Did you guys flash the update using factory image files or did you flash the actual OTA file? Because I find that flashing files from the factory images to update can cause issues sometimes. The OTA files sometimes have upgrade scripts that may change some things that need to be changed on the /data partition and you wouldn't get those changes if you just flashed the new /system partition.
Last night I was having this issue (as mentioned above). Today, the calculator app opens up just fine. Even more strange...

My Nexus 5X is unusable, being spammed with error messages.

Hey there,
My phone keeps spamming me with an error message that reads "Unfortunately, Google Services Framework has stopped." I can't do anything, because the instant I click OK it shows me another error message. There is a fraction of a second window that I can click on the screen, so I tried clicking REPORT and typing an error message one letter at a time, but I can't send a bug report because Google Services Framework isn't working :C
I have attempted to clear my cache, and it didn't solve the problem. It only started occurring after I restarted my phone.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Edit: This problem seems to be unsolvable. I tried everything you can possibly imagine. The only thing that ended up working for me was a factory reset, but thanks to everyone who helped anyway :/
Some more information would be nice.
What ROM / kernel are you on? What did you do right before the problem started occurring? How exactly did you clear cache? Did you just clear dalvik or the cache partition?
You could go to apps in settings and clear the play services and play store caches separately. Try that first.

Thanks for the response.

I'm using the default ROM/kernal that comes with the Nexus 5X.

Okay, I just tried doing that but when I tap 'Clear Cache' the error message pops up before anything can happen. I filmed a really quick video to show you what I mean. I have a new account so I can't directly link to it. www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=5Uw5_VyLP40 When I'm not holding a camera I have enough time to quickly press OK and then click the clear cache button, but nothing seems to happen.
What did you do right before the problem started occurring?
My phone was running low on battery, and I was about to go into an exam so I switched it off. I just plugged it in to charge and then booted it once it was at 100%. As soon as I unlocked my phone I got spammed with those error messages.
How exactly did you clear cache? Did you just clear dalvik or the cache partition?
I cleared the cache partition.
Hope this helps

I can't actually find an app called 'Google Services Framework', but there are a few similar things. I'll try disabling them first. Also, I was really hoping i wouldn't have to do a factory reset, but I will do it if nothing else works.

Alright, I would have to root to find that wouldn't I? I'll give it a go, and I'll report back soon with results.
Thank you both for your help.

Unable to copy/Paste into messaging apps since 1.90.401.5

Has anyone else had this issue?
When I long press it brings up the blue tear drop but I can't do anything with it.
Edit
-----
It's happening with the default messaging app and Viber. I've tried rebooting the phone but it made no difference
Did you try updating the permissions manually (storage etc.)?From the apps section in the settings.

Thanks for the suggestion but that's not the problem.
I just checked the permissions settings for Messaging, Viber and TouchPal keyboard and made sure all had permissions for storage (Only TouchPal didn't).
Rebooted again after making the change and the problem persists.
Really don't want to factory reset.
Mine is working perfectly. Have u tried force stopping the messages app from the settings and clearing the cache? I would give it a shot if i were u.

Thanks.
I did try clearing cache earlier but made no difference. Also tried a different KB and that was the same.
Did a factory restore in the end, all works fine again now.
Glad to hear that
