Hey guys!
i have weird problem with my Zenfone my front facing camera keeps disappearing every hour luckily i found a solution when i remove my sim card and restart my phone my front facing camera appears somehow but this driving me nuts
any idea ? how to fix this
btw not only zenfone 2 suffering from this problem

Sounds like a loose connection. Opening the back probably reconnects it. You would need to open it up and reseat it properly.

got same problem. the app usig camera was on smartwatch, after restart of the smartwatch everything is working

Mine also experienced the same problem, i've done all the things... like disabling google apps, Camera app, cleared all draw over apps finally the hard reset also but didn't seem to work... finally i got fed up and tried to figure it out myself ... bought my own service kit and disassembled my mobile... Here is the thing i found... the back camera module strip runs jus underneath the battery, the battery is fixed to the phone by a white synthetic glue... some poor assemblers in sony jus sticked the glue to the battery right on top of my camera strip which hinders the camera opening... then i removed the glue the cleaned the dtrip with ips solution now it s working good...
Try carefully if you are doin so... this was the reason for my camera fault...

Lol, I also got fed up with it and sent the unit at the service center for product replacement. 1 week after, the result is a mainboard problem and WTF! 2 WEEKS FOR APPROVAL OF ITEM REPLACEMENT!! I will never again buy a phone from sony. Too much hassle damn
This also may occur when the camera flashlight was used as a "real" flashlight / pocket light. Close the other app.

I just got my p8000 and first thing i did is flash Eragon v 9.9.
Now i noticed that my frontcam is upside down, and I cant switch to my maincam at all. Tryed many other camera apps.
Any suggestions?

Strange had my P8000 for about 6 months no problems at all then in the last few days my front facing camera disapeared no switch icon in camera app totally unable to access front facing camera tried every thing different camera app ect was going to reflash standard 5.1 rom back phone not rooted but before reflashing i downloaded https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Go.EngModeMtkShortcut&hl=en_GB went to hardware testing/camera and tested camera kapow!!! camera now works no idea why??????

I would like to acess the hardware test, like the one in this link but is not working. How can I acess this test?

Some hours later i discovered that both the camera's didnt work,popping a message.I tried clearing the camera cache,but nothing happened.Later on even the torch and the notification led didnt work properly,and now i dont have idea on what i have to do.Could it be a software problem? I'm actually running ResurrectionRemix 7.1,is it worth trying to rollback to stock? I already opened the phone and checked all the connectors,and it doesnt seem that they were disconnected or anything.(at least the front camera and the back one)
Any advices?

Rolling back to stock would be my first advice , hairline fractures in PCB/circuitry wont be picked up by human eye.

If it got dropped then stopped working, that pretty much indicates a hardware problem.

Hi guys,i managed to open the phone and to check all the camera cables,then it worked out of nowhere.So its pretty much solved.
For a few months ago, my M30's front camera doesn't work. Sometimes the rear camera works but when I switch to front, the app freezes and then I've got to close it. I tested front camera by dialling *#0*# but it says FAILED!!
Any solution anyone?

Did it ever fall? Is the upper part of the phone broke3n or anything. This data line error is new to me.
Front camera not working
Same problem i am also facing since android 10 update. Tried flashing stock rom couple of times but didn't helped. Many users facing same problem after android 10 update. After factory reset sometime it is working for a first use and then again same problem. Currently My phone is on TWRP and on Turbo Rom.. by anyway i can change the camera version?

I checked just now, it works fine. I tried various angles. Everything works fine. As I asked, it may be due to some hardware trouble or something triggering it.

I read on Samsung Community that a user with the same camera error had to go to service center and had the motherboard changed. I believe it IS a hardware issue

Yup, does sound like hardware issue. Just FYI, Samsung current charges are exorbitant, and they in some countries FORMAT whole data even for smallest of things, irrespective of hardware or software issues (f***ing idiots). So, please beware of the 2 points.
