I was on the train yesterday, listening to my music and blocking out the stench of the rat race, as you do, when my battery died.
I plugged in a portable charger and restarted. Now, the volume on the headphones is on max and I can't adjust it. As I use the volume keys, the standard [Media Volume] bar appears and moves up and down, even down to mute, but the volume in my headphones stays the same.
I do love my tunes banging, but occasionally I would like to go down to 9. Any ideas?
The media volume works with the speaker.
The phone recognises the headset when plugged in.
I have tried different normal headphones without the in-line microphone.
I am using RCMix S v1.1 A2SD+ (which has been awesome up to now)
I've been having a problem where if I connect my phone to my car audio via bluetooth, and use both the music app (MIUI to be exact) and navigation, the navigation sound is EXTREMELY low. And yes, I did turn up the navigation sound to max.
In order to work around this, i have to turn my media volume really low, and then pump up the car audio volume.
I searched through the forums, but did not find a solution to this problem.
Have anyone ever seen this? Is there a fix for this?
Navigation volume is separate, have you tried turning the volume up while the navigation app is in the forefront?
The same thing happens to me on CM7 using Google Listen while connected to my car stereo via the headphone jack. The odd thing is that it's usually normal for the first 1 or 2 instructions and then it goes all weird. I have the nav volume maxed out... No idea why it happens. I've given up and just muted the nav sound and look at the screen periodically.
I use bluetooth Heahphones on my s3 and it worked perfectly, paired and i get beautiful sound. But on my s4 i paired my bluetooth headphones with my phone and it synced great. I'm waiting to get an S4 until I can purchase in store at Best Buy but I do have a set of Jaybirds I can test with them after I buy the phone.

I have a pair of LG-TONE HBS-730 earphones and also a FM transmitter in my car. Last night and this morning I had a similar problem as yours, and I had to restart the phone so I could hear music and calls through the bluetooth devices. A couple of hours ago, I tried again and everything worked very well, BUT after disconnecting them, the phone went like it was on Silent Mode. No sound at all, no ringtone, no music, even the alarm didn't emit any sound, so I had to restart the phone and sound got back to normal. At this moment I am doing some tests connecting and disconnecting the BT earphones, but the problem is gone, so I don't know what's going on.

On my s3 it paired automatically! on the s4 i had to do this.....
With the Power off, press the CALL button and move the power switch to the ‘ON’ side at the same time for 4 seconds to manually place the headset in pairing mode
I hope this helps!
Use BT all the time on my gs2 ill try this out tomorrow and see if there is anything out of the ordinary.
Needing to pair the bt device to the phone is very normal for the very first use - especially if its been paired with another device in its history. Ive found bt devices (headsets like the jabara bt3030/street2) often cant really have more than 1 or two pairs total or they dont connect / dont stay connected properly.
Also the samsung bt stack has had lots of issues with BT devices over the galaxy generations. hopefully its not back.
I've used a Moto S10 & S11 HD stereo BT and 2 different Jawbones without issue.
I have an s4 mini and I connected it tonthe bluetooth earpiece and it works fine. Now once I disconnect it from the bluetooth for some reason my phone audio is gone. When I press the volume keys instead of the volume icone showing it keeps on showing the bluetooth. I have checked and the bluetooth is off. Anyone know how to get the audio back without restarting the phone?
I did restart before when it first happened but now it seems like restarting doesn't work
Can you still see earpiece on a list of available devices?

after disconnecting no, but if I want to reconnect I can see it, once disconnected the bluetooth icon is there instead of the volume when using the volume rocker
Hi!
I flashed my Xperia S with a couple of CM based ROMs (CM9 and CM12) and none of them detect my headset with microphone and buttons.
When I connect the headset to the jack it keeps playing whatever it is playing on the loudspeaker instead of re-routing the sound to the headset.
It must be something specific to the microphone + buttons because when I use normal headphones without a microphone it just works as expected.
The stock firmware would display a dialog with "The accessory's microphone and buttons are not available." but then the headphone would work normally as expected.
Is there anything that I'm missing?
