I'm currently running CM10. I have some major screen burn in from the navbar. I found an app called "dead pixel detect and fix" that can fix my problem, but I need to be able to hide the navbar. Is this possible?
Yes, use a rom that allows it. For now, cm X doesn't.

There might be a no nav mod somewhere if you google it. Otherwise you will have to grab the framework-res.apk and decompile it with many of the tools out there, edit the appropriate files (bools.xml and all plural.xml files) recompile, and then either stick it in a flashable zip or push it back in and chmod 644 it.
download paranoid, as far as I know, is the only rom that let you switch between full and regular screen, I have it and use lmt launcher and love it.
Try Fullscreen toggle apk.
Just search Google.
No need to flash a whole new different ROM.
Hit the thanks button if it worked for you. ^__^

If I have helped you.... hit that sexy thanks button. ^_^
i didn't want to create another thread for this .. this thread is kinda sorta related to it so imma ask here .. anyone find a way to make the nav bar transparent? like in Moto Atrix HD

I installed v2 of the app which is supposed to work with JB, but it didn't do anything when I tried to disable the navbar. I'll have to try something else tomorrow when I have time.
decompile framework-res.apk
/res/values/dimen.xml
Edit the nav height vertical/horizontal/portrait all to 0.0
This will not only remove your nav bar, but will make ICS+ optomized apps think you have one...so they show the native menu buttons in-app.

I'll have to try that. Unfortunately, I won't have access to a computer for the next few days. I'll keep looking for a mod in the meantime. Everything I've found so far only works for ICS or other ROMs.

Jubakuba, thank you so much. Now I get more screen real-estate. Guess I'd better learn how to use LMT fast. Really nice of you. I owe you one.

I use Go Launcher Ex which allows me to hide my status/navigation and dock screens.
Maybe a launcher would help solve your problem.

Sorry men, at work...I'll get it at 12:45 am MST if you still need it.
Hello boys!!! It wanted to ask if it is possible to reduce the NavBar. I would be interested to have it in 20 dpi.
Thank you :good:
Well, I have solved by half the matter. We go to it:
1º: To install Xposed of here http://dl.xposed.info/latest.apk (thanks to slass1990)
2º: To install Xblast Tools (1.6.1)
3º: To go to the module that we have just installed (Xblast)
4º: To go to bar of navigation / height sweeps (I mark 24dpi)
5º: To mark above the color of the bar and 6 to take it to the transparent one (this me has not worked)
6º: To go to framework and to restart.
I hope that you like

Introduction
Did you upgraded to KitKat and want to hide Navigation Bar and use third party Pie control like LMT?
Well, maybe you find that LMT doesn't show from the bottom of screen after you did all above steps, right? It happen to me too.
This is why I created this Xposed mod. It will disable Navigation Ring, so your third party navigation will again show at the bottom of screen. Enjoy!

Hi @smyrosnik and @6ril1,
I have 20a and no lg keyboard fc issue. Can you provide me logcat?
My LG keyboard version is 4.4.28, if you have older, try software update.
I don't think weather is broken by my mod. It doesn't work at all, no matter if I activate or disable my mod.
I am guessing the mod is modifying build.prop. In this case whether I try to hide navigation button through the mod or by addding qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to that file has the same result. It causes the weather widget to malfunction and sometimes the keyboard fc. The keyboard version is 4.4.22. I have used both Stock 4.4.2 international version for D802 and CloudyStock 1.2. Same problem
I will provide the log as soon as possible.

Not modifying build.prop, but overwrite android config value. Basically output is same. As you guys said, this is common way for most mods to hide navigation, nothing special.
Weird is that weather widget doesn't work on my device. When I add it to home screen or lock screen it ask to download 75MB update. After that update add again doesn't work at all.
Any idea why the mod doesn't seem to do anything? Installed, activated and rebooted, the navigation bar is still there. Would love to get some pie for the stock ROM finally, feels so cramped with the bar

Nevermind this was caused by leftover line in build.prop (hwkeys=0), works great now after removing it. Now the only problem is that stock keyboard doesn't show suggestions, otherwise it works well but the boxes where the suggestions should be are empty. That I can live with

Hi, I'm using this mod but I still have the navigation ring.
When I activate it only soft keys disappears.

Well, your screenshot show gravity box crash. Gravity box is quite powerfull mod, it tweaks a lot of things. Try to check it's settings if there is anything related to Navigation Ring. Like I wrote before, if using multiple mod which tweaks navigation bar, it could happen that my mod disable it and next mod enable again.
You can simply confirm it by disabling gravity box for the moment and restart.

What I see is a lot of missing files and resources needed for keyboard to run. This looks really strange. You are running original LG stock ROM? Anything disabled or removed?
I don't think I can solve missing keyboard files. Do you have latest 4.4.28 keyboard?
I have done some basic mods for the Pixel that have been well received, and @StickyEyez requested I do it for the Pixel XL as well. You can see my original post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel/themes/mod-navbar-tuner-additional-qa-tile-rows-t3522314
**I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES TO YOUR DEVICE. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK**
**v1.0 2017.01.05**
This mod is based on the NMF26V update, but it should work on NMF26U as well. It may work on older versions, but I have no information regarding this. If you want to test on other versions, you should back up your original /system/framework/framework-res.apk and system/priv-app/SystemUIGoogle/SystemUIGoogle.apk
NMF26# increased the NavBar height to a ridiculous 48dpi, so I have added 4dpi step-downs to 32dpi.
I've also made changes to make the Statusbar slightly smaller at 20dpi (original is 24dpi).
Only install one of each mod at a time. The NavBar/Statusbar mode impacts framework-res.apk and System UI mods impact SystemUIGoogle.apk, so if you select multiple it'll just install the last one you selected.
The mods that can be applied are:
NavBar/StatusBar dpi
0dpi/0dpi
0dpi/20dpi
0dpi/24dpi
32dpi/24dpi
32dpi/20dpi
36dpi/24dpi
36dpi/20dpi
40dpi/24dpi
40dpi/20dpi
44dpi/24dpi
44dpi/20dpi
48dpi/20dpi
SystemUI Mods
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness + 4 QS Tiles
NavBarUI Manager + Brightness + 4 QS Tiles + Battery Mod
Return to Stock
framework-res.apk
SystemUIGoogle.apk
Note, the 0dpi/0dpi mod is actually 0dpi/1dpi because if you set the statusbar to 0dpi you cannot pull it down while in apps. If applied to a standard setup, you will find that the tops of the clock show in the statusbar, and will not look good. But if you use a different launcher, I have been told this is not noticeable.
You can download the mod here Stranula_Full_Flash_v1.zip
To install you will need to have TWRP installed, then simply install the zip and follow the on screen menus.

I am about to be on a plane for the rest of the day, so I've updated the original post. @Cbass15 has reported the installer and mods to be working, so hopefully it is good to go. He is also going to be putting up some screenshots soon.
Here is just a couple of screenshots...

The picture with a Nav bar is 32/24
The picture without a Nav Bar is 0/20
Want to see anymore screenshots before you flash? Let me know,I'll hook you up with one. :good:
Any chance of adding the center clock mod?
I don't see much point in removing the brightness slider as it does not shrink the area it was in. Unless you literally don't want to accidentally touch it.

Yeah, it's a toggle. I just find it unfortunate that it doesn't really shrink down.
Thanks for this package, BTW. I just did this manually myself yesterday because nobody had anything that would allow for the navbar tuner in 7.1.1...

Unfortunately, not from me. I don't have the time to invest in modding. I just happen to be on vacation and had some spare time to do this.
I've been waiting to root and install TWRP until we get xposed framework because I want to hide the nav bar and enable pie controls. I see with this mod that I can hide the nav bar. Are there any good apps or installs for pie control like the GravityBox module with Xposed? I would love something that works similar to the pie controls in GravityBox. I've tried stuff like LMT but it doesn't appear to be as smooth.

If you don't want the nav bar at all, you will need something like pie controls or something similar.
I had an iPhone for a few years and the pixel brought me back. The progress android has made has been phenomenal but I see a few things missing that used to be here before. Honestly I think I'm overlooking it but who knows.
FYI I have an unlocked bootloader and am running magisk running stock rom and kernel.
1. I used to love my Note 1's navbar with the search and menu button in the navbar. I remember xposed being able to do it but the modules haven't been updated and just cause a bootloop on the pixel. The customnavbar by paphonb doesn't allow you to have the menu button on the bar. Is there a way to make this work with oreo?
2. What happened to the text notifications? I replaced Google's main text app with Textra but I recall there being custom notifications and ringers all being in the contacts app.
3. What happened to changing the apps notification sound? Back then it was really easy to set the sound of the apps but I hardly see that feature.
4. Can you change the lockscreen clock font? I changed my system font and the clock has a question mark where the colon used to be. I know I could find another font but I really like this one.
5. How do you get in and out of the phone quickly? I find myself double tapping on the display and most of the time it works. Is there a better way?
Note: I saw some of these tweaks were on substratum but I couldn't get it to work for me. I tried to use substratum but the themes won't take because I'm on stock or because I don't know what I'm doing. I would like a clean lockscreen or one where I could swipe to the left or right and start recording. I forget the name but there used to be an app that customized the lockscreen.
If anyone could help me figure out Oreo I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you so much for your help!
The font fix is exactly what I needed. I hated that square or question mark for the colon!
The custom nav bar app is the one I was talking about by php. I don't see a way to add the menu button to the nav bar on that app but I'll look and confirm.
I still use my iPhone silicone cases for this phone so the fingerprint won't work. That's disappointing I thought there might be a quicker way.
Thanks though!

It does but it doesn't let you add the menu to the navbar. And it also removes the battery percentage from the status bar for me. I wish it worked because that would be perfect for me with the navbar and customizable sounds [emoji21]

That's fair, but they aren't meant for the pixel phones. Sell them and get a new one with a proper cut out for the fingerprint reader.

It does but it doesn't let you add the menu to the navbar. And it also removes the battery percentage from the status bar for me. I wish it worked because that would be perfect for me with the navbar and customizable sounds [emoji21]

So I installed it but I'm not sure what to do next. System tuner was already activated but I don't see any other options. Do you have the original thread this was posted in? I don't want you to spoon feed it to me but I'm lost after the flash

My bad. I forgot an edit. Here is one for January update and February update. Hopefully they will work.
Edit: should look like this.

What if I flash magisk, flash this mod, uninstall magisk? Will that keep this mod intact?

I'll let the Dev weigh in on that. It's his mod and wouldn't want to give any misinformation with it's installation after the February update :good:

So this adds the button that looks like the menu but it doesn't function like the menu at all. It disappears and I think it has to do with the 66 being set as the code. I don't think that's the right code for the menu button to actually work. I took a screenshot.
Either way I'm giving up for now
