Hi guys, hoping somebody can help.
I've got a 2/16 Hydrogen. Unlocked bootloader via official channels, confirmed via phone.
I can connect via fastboot, I can flash TWRP successfully and then reboot. When holding the up button, the TEAMWIN logo will appear for a couple of seconds (at which point I let go of up) but the phone then just restarts to the Mi Logo and then eventually back on to the home screen.
I've tried TWRP 3.1.1.0 and TWRP and 3.0.3.0 but same result for both. I'm on Mi Global 7.6.29 Beta if that makes any difference.

Hi XDA-Fellows
1) thanks for all the help of this community so far
2) my problem: I had my HTC One M8 rooted, installed TWRP (I think in the end I had 2.7.8.0 as last version) and Cyanogenmod with a nightly build of around 18. March 2016 installed! THEN the big mistake happened. In advanced developers menu of cyanogenmod I activated the option that was called something like "on update of system also replace recovery software". That obviously was stupid.
Upon rebooting normally TWRP launched and installed the latest nightly. This time I see the white screen with HTC logo on it, red text in bottom, top part of the screen shows "ENTERING RECOVERY", 3 seconds later I see a black screen and every like 2 or 3 seconds it looks like the screen gets powered, it flashes darkgrey shortly (again, looks like it gets powered but instantly shuts off immediately).
This just can be stopped by pressing either P+U or P+D for like 10 seconds. Then again, white screen with HTC logo and ENTERING RECOVERY and the screen switch on/off-loop.
Is my device bricked? What can I do now?
Any help is appreciated.
Hi,
Can you enter to your bootloader ? So maybe you can just reflash it to see if it's going to work..

Yes I can enter bootloader. How should I go on from here on?
Well you just need to download the new TWRP from their web site https://dl.twrp.me/m8/ after that you put your device into bootloader and you plug your phone into your computer and download a toolkit from xda like htc one m8 toolkit and you follow the instructions..

Thanks. I will give it a try and give feedback.
It worked. I could enter bootloader, switched to FASTBOOT mode, installed ADB Drivers for windows and replaced recovery with latest TWRP! THanks a lot for your help! I thought I could throw away my M8
Well. It worked not completely. I was able to reboot my phone into the Cyanogenmod. But upon entering recovery mode (which I expected now to be TWRP) I get the same result again ... Screen off/on within seconds, repeating endlessly
I think you need to reflash the boot.img and the ROM completely. Because i don't know why do you have a black screen.
I activated root access for apps and tried ROM Manager first! It failed, then I used flashify which worked. Automatically downloaded latest TWRP (3.0.0.1) and flashed it, reboot into recovery. Everything works like a charm again! Thanks again for your help!
So guys
I was on twrp and tried to flash a new rom but when it rebooted after the install, my Zuk z2 died.
It does nothing now. If I press the powerbutton for a long time it shortly vibrates for one second and the notification light also lights up for 1 second, but does not boot up. I tried volume combinations, don't work either.
What can I do guys?
Well, this guy managed to fix it
. Not sure if its the best way to fix it but it's still something

My video. The brick occurs when you usually backup a room with one version of twrp, flash another variant of twrp and then restore the nandroid from before.
Happened to me. Flashed MIUI, and then tried to restore a nandroid (not realising the TWRP changed).
Hope the video helps. Plus then you have a cable premade in case it happens again

Hello. Maybe you can give me some advice. I am stuck in engineering/diagnostics mode after I accidentally selected that option when I was in the bootloader trying to flash TWRP.
Basically, I had installed TWRP and Mokee 7.1.1. I wanted to check out the original chinese ROM so I relocked, flashed with QFIL, etc. I had first flashed MM, then I flashed latest chinese Nougat official.
I didn't like it, so I was trying to unlock the bootloader again, and in the process I ended up selecting the diagnostics/engineering mode. The phone was stuck there and I had no way of accessing the bootloader to reflash with QFIL or MiFlash
TO try to fix, I used the deep flash method you describe in the video, only I found it in zukfans. I was able to open the 9008 port, flash with QFIL/MiFlash. Even though both tools describe the flash as successful, on boot, it goes back to engineering mode.
How to I get out of there? Is my phone done?
Thanks!
Hi,
Trying to root the following unlocked phone of mine..
Current Mobile version : HTC Desire 816 A5_DWG "India" - Dual Sim
Software version : 3.14.720.1 / Marshmallow 6.0 with HTC Sense 7.0
I flashed 5/6 different TWRP/CWM versions via ADB/Fastboot as the phone is accessible... but when I try to enter the Recovery, in CWM the screen goes blank while with TWRP, the Phone actually starts an infinite boot loop with "Entering Recovery" -> Down - > "Entering Recovery".. the connected phone is not available to ADB/Fastboot during this time... and I have to wait for Phone battery to exhaust, so I can start the phone in Bootloader and restart as normal.. Can anyone point me to the actual TWRP/CWM or any other Recovery image for the model & version? The phone has no external card, not sure if that could be a limitation in the process? Also do I need to unlock the phone every time I put Stock Recovery back?
thanks in advance
I just stumbled upon your exact problem after flashing twrp-3.1.0-0-a5.img
I flashed the oldest version of TWRP I can find on twrp.me (twrp-2.7.1.0-a5.img) and now it's all okay.
BTW, while the phone looping the "entering recovery mode" process, you can hold both Up volume and Power button to boot normally instead of waiting for the battery to drain exhaust.

Thanks a lot for both the pointers... TWRP, the old version did work and also the up volume+ power is working fine.. But after getting into TWRP and wiping partitions & data, the system is now booting to always hung state (stuck on white HTC boot screen).. Can get to bootloader/fast boot, but ADB doesnt detect the device now.... When I enter TWRP, the phone is detected in adb in the "recovery mode" , but fastboot doesnt work.. How can the stock recovery/other recovery be installed at this hung state..
thanks in advance
If you have a ROM (or a backup image), you can flash it when you're in recovery mode; I don't think you need ADB to do that?
And also, what is the cid of your phone and what image did you use?
Sorry for the delay.

I have the same problem with latest version 3.1.0-0, though older versions working fine. Could you manage to get the latest version working? or the image file has bug?

It's quite difficult to find a suitable image for my phone so I ended up using the old version of TWRP. I don't really know if it's a bug in the image file or TWRP itself.
But then again, why do you want to use the latest version of TWRP?

Previous versions of TWRP were not able to decrypt/ access my 'adopted SD-card' (merged with internal memory).
I was hoping , the latest version would be able to do that.
Hi! I have a 6/64 Mi 6 and I have a strange problem that occurs sometimes.
I have the bootloader unlocked since ever and I like test and use custom ROMs... But, this problem is annoying me.
Case 1 - If I use whatever MIUI based ROM + the official TWRP, it's just fine, works like a charm.
Case 2 - If I use whatever MIUI based ROM + unnoficial TWRP that supports TREBLE the orange screen appears.
Case 3 - If I use whatever ROM not based in MIUI + unnoficial TWRP the orange screen also appears.
It appears when I reboot the phone in TWRP, fastboot or normal mode, and if I'm in TWRP and reboot the phone, the screen appears and all the times that it appears, I have to force reboot the phone holding the power button and then, the phone works normaly.
Have anyone experienced this? I'm very upset with this situation. I will attach a picture of the orange screen.
Right now, thanks to anyone who can help me or debate!
Sorry for my english. Regards, Henrique.
You ever tried full wipe with locking bootloader via miflash ?
if not, i recommend so!

Until then I was leaving this as a last option, but there was no way... I relocked the bootloader and now I'm waiting about 50 hours to unlock again... I hope this can solve my problem! I will leave a feddback when I unlock again!
Thanks for the suggestion!
I have got the same problem. Have you solved it?
So I recently changed my Xiaomi Mi MIx 2 screen (the one before was broken) and I wss using LineageOS 16 with TWRP.
The problem is that, after I changed the screen, I could not boot back to LineageOS because I was stuck in a grey screen (after booting the phone I am able to see the Mi logo and the LineageOS loading animation, but after that nothing).
I tried to do a Wipe from the TWRP, but whenever I try to open the recovery I get stuck again with a grey logo... (and in the recovery it does not even shows the TWRP logo, just straight the grey screen). I am still able, however, to go in Fastboot mode and I do have an unlocked bootloader
So my question was... does anyone encounteredd the same problem? And does anyone know how to fix it?
Can I perhaps just use the Mi Flash tool from fastboot to go back to stock MIUI without first wiping from TWRP things like Dalvik cache, cache, System ecc... or would this method fail/brick my phone?
Thank you a lot to anyone that would spend time to help me (and sorry for my bad English, I am trying to improve it).
Have a nice day!
The mi mix2s rewrites a new recovery after every boot, so to get TWRP to work you have to flash it from fastboot every single time. So the next time you boot, reflash TWRP, then you can boot into recovery 1 time and flash the rom of your choice
Hi Guys,
Recently i'm changed my broken display of Mix 2 after that when i'm entering to recovery it showing a gray screen also the phone is detecting on PC.
some TWRP worked but after flashing custom ROM same as showing gray screen after finished boot also doing second try the touch not working on TWRP.
Now i'm using Global version of MIUI11, when flashing custom TWRP via FASTBOOT MODE its booting up but after that restarting the phone revert back to the stock Recovery. Earlier i'm used the final version of MIUI12 Weekly EU ROM
Guys if you know any workaround for this please help me to get rid out of this
Thanks in Advance
