This module allows the earpiece to be used as speaker, and mods the microphone pickup when recording video. Audio from earpiece might not be as clear as main speaker. This module was tested on Oxygen OS 4.5.5 version, but should work on other versions as well.
This module was originally created by @magura320 for OnePlus 3T. I have used this on OnePlus 3T and now ported to OnePlus 5. This is my first mod on XDA, so please be patient with any issues. Let me know if I have missed any credits and would be happy to add them.

Yes there absolutely is, have seen these in the past on other singular speaker devices and although they work amazingly well there is always a risk.
What does "mods the microphone pickup when recording video" mean exactly?
For those of us that use Viper to enhance the phone speaker, this might be a really bad idea. I can just see the tiny earpiece speaker dying under the extra boost given by other sound mods. This is a great idea though and I would love to use it. Is there a way to regulate the level of sound out of that top speaker or is it just opening the flood gates and using the same power as the real phone speaker?
Awesome, i miss this dual sound mod on my S7 Edge, now i retrieved this mod on my OP5 yeahhhhhh
Thanks !

I tested it and the earpiece is actually softer than the speaker. But you can definitely hear it when watching videos.

That's a good thing cause it may damage if it's too loud.

Perhaps it means record in stereo?
Will the same magisk mod work with OP3 as for op5 since there is no seperate link provided?
I did install this. I'm still apprehensive about turning it up too loud but it works well. It doesn't give off a ton of extra sound but it does sound more balanced which is nice.
Can u also make for Leeco le max 2
Is the stock mixer_paths_tasha for op5 only or both 3t nd 5? It'd be great if we manually can edit the mixer_paths section if that stereo editing section is reveled.

Without flashing TWRP you can't have root. My understanding is you need root or TWRP to install this. Pretty sure (like 99.9999%) that you can't flash stuff like this from stock recovery... Otherwise what would be the point of TWRP in the first place.

Hey everybody, I just made some Headphone volume boost scripts, all are tested and work, though some may damage your hardware.(Continue reading)
These are flashable zip files that will work on any recovery.
They range in digital volume from 62-68 for now. And range from 19-20 in digital volume. (63/19 only)
They are safe to flash for the most part, but values above 65 for digital volume MAY damage hardware.
How to install:
Download and flash in CWM, TWRP, or Philz
Downloads: Below
-Slight boost, choose 62/20, 63/19, 63/20, or 64/20
-Medium boost, choose 65/20- Some devices may clip at high volume.
-High boost, choose 66/20- Some devices may clip at high volume.
-Experimental Extreme boost, choose 67/20 or 68/20- use with caution! May damage hardware.
I would recommend 63/19 for iPhone like sound. Or 64/20 for loud sound, without distortion.
Aosp earpiece boost and stock earpiece was removed, they didn't work correctly, use new earpiece and Bluetooth boost!
Remember:
I am not responsible if your phone explodes, creates a nuclear weapon, makes your ears bleed, or if it stops working.
If you say I broke your phone, I will laugh at you. Please advise!
Bugs: None reported... Yet.
Please tell me if anything is wrong!
Thanks,
willi_3609
P.S. this is working best on KK Roms. And new Earpiece and Bluetooth boost are out!!!

I believe the handset speaker uses rx1 so using the headphone zip should also set the handset volume.

was looking for this a long time ago.. i flashed 2 files yesterday from some1 who posted other volume boosts as well but having a more wide option available is amazing....
If i an not mistaken , we can flash multiple files one after the other, correct ?
example.. i want to boost Head phone and speaker .. so flash Headphone6520.zip followed by Speaker66.zip ? or would Speaker66.zip overwrite Headphone.zip changes ?
As i understand it both files just modify Mixer_paths.Xml, so multiple flashes would just be overwriting the same file?
Thanks for the mod !
You can use both.

It just modifies them, you can flash both speaker and headphone, no need to wipe anything either!
Can anybody test somethibg out for me.
I need somebody with an AOSP based ROM to test my Earpiece zip. That would be great, ui need to know if it works on the D80x models
It should boost earpiece volume as that is the only lower value, but I would be thankful to have someone test it and report back to me. Thanks.
@willi_3609 Thanks for this..
i ve flashed some of them.. it works fine with cable headphone but bluetooth headphone is not as loud as cable headphones..

its been posted a lot of time, bluetooth headphone volume is digital. cant be changed
question: when i already have a volume mod flashed then i flash another kernel, the volume mod flashed will dissappear right? so need to flash the boost again..? ?

Answer: Its actually not about kernel.. But yes. It can help..
I ve tried many rome and mods .. Its definitely changeable.. Last time i ve tried sony walkman on my g2 (cloudy g3 rom) was the best sound with bluetooth.. It was as loud as cable..
but cloudy's rom wasn't good enough.. (heating) therefor i had to change it..
So one thing i m sure is bluetooth sounds can be changed..
Cm integration
Hey OP can you look at possibly getting this working with cm11. I know there are other mods that say they help with those volume issues but I've yet to find one that gives stock like or close to stock results. Thanks!
it already works.

This works with all Roms, cm, aosp, stock, everything.
It just edits a file already present in the Roms.
Anyway to improve the loudness of the speakers without rooting? they sound good but they're not loud enough, especially coming from a MXP.
This is an easy one. You can increase the loudness of the phone by accessing the bluetooth options... In the bluetooth menu, you will have the option available to connect to other bluetooth devices. Choose a locally available bluetooth speaker and enable the BTA option...
Hence forth your phone should sound much louder. This is a secret hack, don't tell anyone...

No, without root and without using a mod there is no way, you could use a different player and see if you can tweak the audio but actual volume will still be capped.

Viper4Android will make the speakers louder. Unfortunately, I have not found a way of this mod not messing with the sound settings on the HTC 10. On mine, after installing V4A, boomsound is not working properly as well switching between theater and music mode

There's a few to be honest, any active or manual equaliser can get more out of the speakers as they are but may mess with boom sound which is already in place.
In regards to tweaking the actual max volume I believe it can be edited but results can vary and it can become unstable or even break audio altogether so I'd personally avoid that.
In regards to mods, the best one I ever used was one called acid which was just crazy, I had it on my s3 which became extremely loud without distortion, but I'm yet to see it on any other device, viper is another, team venom might have it on their rom.

I guess that if the upper speaker can be enable, the volume ringer can be more higher, the lower speaker is used only for bass and lower frequencies and for this some change in this speaker will not enough by itself for to improve ringer volume sound and quality
The V4A doesn´t fix the problem, if somebody know how to change this, welcome

Hey all,
a week ago I made a thread about enabling dual speakers on our device ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/gx8/how-to/enable-dual-speakers-huaweig8-gx8-t3579204 ) but now I made a flashable zip so it could be easy to flash it rather than copy and paste a file, all you need is flashing this zip file from the recovery (CHECK THE ATTACHMENTS) ....... HAVE FUN!!

- Improvements to the sound of the speakers and makes it louder.
- Improvements to the sound of the headphones.
Notes : - Do not worry if it takes from 5-7 mins on booting cause there is a wiping to the dalvik/cache ... just leave your mobile and go get an apple then come back xD .
- Only tested on android 7.x.x roms so I don't know if it may work on android 6 roms or not .

Bro it enables the dual speakers to work together in listening to songs like the idea of htc 10 the headset one with the bottom one just with some increases in the sound of both speakers and also for the headphones .

It is finally here, just for you, AOSP 7.1 users: a mod to get surround sound on your S6
I'm presenting to you my work: Aldeon Surround Sound
Download the attachment, go to /system/etc and rename the existing mixer_paths_0.xml to mixer_paths_0.xml.bak then copy the new mixer_paths_0.xml and change the permissions to rw-r--r-- or 0644.
It won't damage your earpiece so keep calm
Features:
- louder than stock
- left and right channels
- better for utilisation in landscape
To download on mobile just use Chrome, long press on attachment and click "Download link".
To adjust the volumes:
- open /system/etc/mixer_paths_0.xml
- search for "Output volume stage" then look at the "gain-media-speaker" path
- decrease or increase by 2 or more (not recommended) the "46" and "36" values (2 values for HPOUT3 and 2 for AIF4TX) to the values you want
Don't ask me "Does this mod work on XYZ ROM?". The answer is "I don't know, test and report!".
It should be compatible with all models. If you have the Canadian version, download the second attachment and remove that " (w8)" from its name.
Compatible with all 7.1 ROMs.
Reported to be compatible with S7
If you want to use this in your ROM, give me the proper credits and you are done.
Credits to @AlexisXDA for his original work on the 7.0 Surround Sound. After converting his changes to a "patch" I was able to apply that "patch" to our mixer_paths_0.xml. It needed a lot of testing.
Think you need to give @AlexisXDA proper credits on this project.

Yup - Still here ?
Sent from my SM-G955W ??
So, I got this device and looking around here I noticed theres not a soundboost mod around here, so I decided to check the mixer paths (mixer_paths_wcd9306.xml) to see if I can increase this phone headphone and speaker volume, and here it is, I've made two zips of this mod one, moderate and extreme sound boost, I've tested this on Pie and Oreo so I don't know how it'll work on Nougat or MM...
I recommend the Moderate version of this mod, Extreme might create some distortion if you don't have an EQ or a high quality headphones, with nothing else to say, enjoy

Nice mod. Thanks.
I tried both alternatives but i only noticed the changes with the Extreme version and using my headphones. Running AOSiP 9.0 :good: Still, i'm gonna rollback to the Moderate version untill the next flash or restore the og file. I like my heavy metal pretty loud, but not THAT loud , haha.

It should be fixed now, btw I didn't increased a lot the volume of the speaker because it would start to distortion :good:
