Have you had any luck? I'm in the same boat, I've tried just about everything... I sold my phone to someone and they tried installing muiu rom and it quit working for them and they sent it back to me... And now I just want to get it working so I can use it and sell my iPhone and get a new android!! I hate the iPhone.
What exactly were you trying to achieve switching RUU's?
did you make sure it was for phones that were not rooted?
I havent had any luck and well I tried the Ruu that it wasnt rooted and it went all the way but the same thing keeps on happening
I am having this issue as well, about 12 hours after switching roms to cm9 nightly (unofficial) from the roms section, everything was working just fine, all was well. I had spent some time getting the rom set back up the way i like it, and had finished, while waiting in line at a restaurant I opened a bookmark from ics browser plus app and the phone rebooted itself. it just loops through the white screen, goes black, and then back to the white screen. I can get to hboot, but not to recovery, selecting recovery just goes back to the loop. I tried clearing user data via hboot, I tried reinstalling recovery (both amon-ra and twrp). the recovery installs ok according to the screen, but then trying to go back to recovery causes the loop to return. I do not know what else to try. (in my case, the phone does still show s-off and always has throughout the problems)
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.....

You're gona ned to get to s-off sot hat adb and mount the system if needed. Since you have the 2.16 bootloader, head over to revolutionary.io to get to rooting tools.
UPDATE
After trying different things now my HBOOT says 2.18.0001
Radio 2.15.00.12.19 and at the top it says unlocked, how can I S-off if i cant go inside the phone?
Now you're S-Off, flash a recovery and see if you can into Recovery and flash a ROM.
BTW, what ROM were you using when this started?

If the top of the screen says S-Off, stop right there. Go to the dev section > download and flash a recovrey via PC36IMG.zip > then flash a rom.
for S+G's try pulling battery and removing sd card before rebooting without it
sorry but I havent had time to get online but now it says

I tried installing a recovery thru fastboot and it says that it was finished and everything but when I select recovery it stays on the htc evo 4g white screen and it doesnt do anything after that
try to get S-Off useing revolutionary, once you get it ,Get smelkus-mod-4.3 recovery. Flash it through H-Boot, If you can get it to flash then your good to go. Just a note, Twerp is a badass recovery but twerp anc CWM dont really play well with the Evo 4g,,,Later,,,

This happened to me after a dead battery. I was worried but a Phillip charge and then it booted up

Hi!
I've been using ViperDHD 1.2.3 on my HTC DESIRE HD but now it crashed and it's stuck on the HTC logo. I belive the problem isn't the rom because I've been using it for almost a year and it has worked perfectly.
I can get it to HBOOT screen, but I cant go to RECOVERY because it just show the HTC logo and nothing happens.

I spend whole yesterday searching but I didn't found any solution. So please help me! :crying:
you can try flashing recovery from hboot and see if then you can at least boot into it. then make a backupz and reflash. dirty flash might help, if it doesnt, fullwipe then reflash. your data should still be in nand backup, and you should be able to extract it with titanium backup. if this dont work, you probably have a more serious problem...
it might be helpful if you could provide more details what exactly happened, because "crash" doesnt really tell a lot.

I choose the RECOVERY option from HBOOT menu (is this what you mean?), then it vibrated and showed the HTC logo and after that nothing happened.
I was playing music when the phone vibrated few times and the screen went black, I could still hear noise from the speaker. Then I took out the battery and put it back and then I booted the phone but it was stuck in the HTC logo.
So is it dead now? :crying:
You can try what the previous member said. Flash a recovery either using pd98img.zip or fastboot.

or your sdcard is corrupted to work as a goldcard and there to flash PD98IMG files (try the same file with another sdcard) or perharps the file is misspelled. Check that you don't have .zip.zip or something similar.

I've tried diffrend sdcards and diffrend files but it doesn't work. I found onde PD98IMG file that the phone regonized but when i pressed "yes" it did something and showed the HTC logo and after that nothing happened.
The file that my phone found (link) is only 220kt so I think it would not work anyway.

Why are you trying to mess your device? You were running Gingerbread and you are trying to flash a Froyo RUU?? That is not good...you will probably mess the bootloader that way.
If you are s-off you can flash any ruu in fastboot...but if your device keeps vibrating for a while when you turn it on... and youwait for about 30 minutes and boots, then that means that your bootloader is corrupted and you need to fix it.
How long does it take to boot in hboot?

The phone starts like it should but it just get stuck on the HTC logo.
Booting in HBOOT goes also normaly, just few seconds from pressing the buttons.
mate, what are you trying to flash is bootloader not recovery. dont know why you want to do that? since your phone is behaving wierd, i dont think it is a good idea. you should find recovery image (.img) and flash with fastboot (your bootloader says you are eng s-off) or pdimg containing recovery, and then see if you can boot into it. if it does, you are on a good way to have your phone working again. if recovery flashes good and you still cant boot into it, i have no clue how to proceed...
I managed to install a PD98IMG file (with recovery image), but it's still stuck at HTC logo.
Friend's father recently obtained a HTC One X runing on VIRIGIN network.
We've unlocked the boot-loader, and as soon as we flash clockwork's recovery image, the phone went onto a boot loop.
Once we turned off the phone, we were able to fully boot it onto the stock image.
We've tried..
1. Clearing Fastboot's cache
2. Flashing different recovery images (including the stock one)
3. Factory resting the phone (We were unable to because im guessing it needs its default recovery (It just restarted and didnt reset))
^ All had lead to either a boot loop or just failed and booted normally.
The phone isn't rooted (Im guessing you need a recovery image to flash supersu in the first place)
All help would be appreciated. Thank you for reading this,
Try this
Download the latest TWRP from here (or 2.4.1.0 if you can find it, best version IMO)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25393156
Then put your phone in fastboot and connect usb make sure it says 'fastboot usb'
Then rename TWRP to 'recovery' (no quotes) and copy to your fastboot folder on your PC
Open CMD and type 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img' (no quotes)
Then type 'fastboot erase cache' (no quotes)
Do it exactly like that then use the volume + power buttons to go to hboot --> recovery and hopefully it should work
Btw these kinds of questions should go in Q&A
Thank you so much ! What a relief.

hi, i have the same problem right now. did u solved it?
Hello guys,
Yesterday I bricked my One x, I followed this section down here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's begin.
Download my toolkit from here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=24972527
Extract the FOLDER to your C: drive or to your desktop.
MAKE SURE YOUR DIRECTORY DOES NOT HAVE A PERIOD OR SPACE.
Open One X.exe
So now you have my program open. Great.
On your phone, go to Settings -> Developer Options and Enable USB Debugging.
From my toolkit, Click 1. Install HTC Drivers.
After the drivers install, restart your computer.
After your computer loads up, open my toolkit and connect your phone to the computer. Your phone should now be recognized.
Now, click 2. Register at HTCDev. Register with a VALID email address and LEAVE the web browser open.
Now, under the commands section of my toolkit, press Boot into Bootloader.
You should have a nice, white, shiny screen that says FASTBOOT USB.
Click 3. Get Token ID. Look at the pop up and it will tell you how to get the Token ID.
Highlight where it says < < < < Identifier Token Start > > > > all the way to < < < < < Identifier Token End > > > > > and right click and it will automatically copy it.
Now, click Submit Token ID. Your web browser should now open a new tab. Scroll down and in the empty box, paste your Token ID. Press submit. HTCDev now emailed you your unlock token.
Your phone should still be in the bootloader. Now, go to the email address you registered to HTCDev and DOWNLOAD your unlock_code.bin. Press 5. Unlock Bootloader. Locate your unlock_code.bin and it will flash it to your phone.
READ the warning. THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA FROM THE PHONE.
When you agree to it, press the volume up button and press the power button to accept it. Your phone will now restart.
When your phone loads up, go through the set up wizard. Then, on your phone, go to Settings -> Developer Options and Enable USB Debugging.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So far so good!
After that I try the permroot \/ only it wouldn’t work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Under the Extras section, press Perm Root. It will push SuperSU.zip to your phone.
Under commands, press Boot into Bootloader once again.
Now, it is time to flash a recovery.
TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) is a custom recovery that will allow you to flash custom ROMs, Mods, etc.
CWM (ClockWorkMod) is a custom recovery that will allow you to flash custom ROMs, Mods, etc.
I recommend TWRP and we will use it for this tutorial,
Select TWRP and press Flash Recovery.
After it flashes, remove the USB cable and have HBOOT selected in bootloader. Press the power button and it will reload to another screen. Press the Volume Down button until you get to Recovery. Press the power button to select it.
Go to Backup and back up your boot and system partition. Always have a back up before you flash or do anything.
After that, go to Install and locate SuperSU.zip. Click it and slide the screen on the bottom to flash it. After it flashes, reboot the phone.
In your app drawer (your menu with all the apps), open SuperSU. If it says the binary needs to be updated, then update it. If it doesn't, then you are fully rooted!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I Googled to antoher solution and found a UNROOT tool, stupid is I was, I tried id.
Now my phone only startup in the bootloader so this is maybe a good thing?
Is there anyone how has an idea to solve this problem? I hope someone can help me out .

Well if you can access the bootloader, then go into fastboot and run
fastboot earse cache
then flash the recovery (CWM Touch) again, make sure it's the latest version for your phone, so
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
now reboot into recovery and do a factory reset/wipe data and dalvik and reboot...
if it boots up you are good to go, if not than try to restore your nandroid from recovery.
Now find and download the latest SuperSU.zip and move it is your sdcard.
Now once more go into your recovery and click on install zip and find supersu.zip, install and reboot
You can't brick hox that easy, relax and try to reflash recovery, boot.img and reset cache. If problem not solved you need to wipe data or even reflash rom one more time

Same Problem, please HELP !!!
Good day Friends of the Forum
I have a problem and do not know how to fix it , I have navigate a lot in the network and I could not get my phone to work . I have HTC One X from AT&T. By playing around with the phone, accidentaly I delete the O.S. so right now my phone is locked . I can't load Origanal or Custom ROMS . The only thing I can do is enter the bootloader and install recovery ( TWRP ) I installed several versions of TWRP to install a custom rom or I locked the bootloader to install the original RUU and everything has been WITHOUT SUCCESS .
Right now I have S -ON , my HBOOT is 2.14 and I can install TWRP Recovery 2.6.0.0 or 2.6.3.0 .
I have read in many places that I have to make an S -OFF to install a Custom ROM , but all I get Tips that I need an OS runing to finish the installation (or modified to do the S -OFF) . What can I do if my S.O. is actuall blocked (brick). Only screen I got when I turned on or reboot my is the white screen " HTC quietly brillant" .
My friends , I request help from the wise in this range. Since I ran out of ideas. I attached pictures with my phone information

no you're not. unlocking and relocking the bootloader is free. but removing the Tempered sign needs S-off which costs 25 bucks
but ofcourse, no need to relock in order to get updates. you just need to unroot in supersu and flash your stock recovery image

When i try to unlock my bootloader , after giving the unlock code bin ... !!
I will get a menu like this and if i select option YES , but nothing happens ... it just shows message as Entering Recovery and nothing happens , !! again i have to select option NO to reboot , I Think this error is the main reason for failure of flashing stock recovery

Try TWRP instead of CWM. Some people have problems with CWM.
