Phone very slow after falling from 6 feet. - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday my phone fell from 6 feet. Since then, it's deadly slow.
All CPUs seem to be fine, they are in performance mode, at the right frequency. Temperature is good (below 34°). LCD is intact. Touch layer works perfectly. Absolutely works correctly, but very slowly.
Display refreshes about once per second. With some apps, it slickers.
I can perform Skype video calls with both cameras. But Camera application makes the phone freese.
Some chat apps make screen flicker (blink). If only chat history is shown, the whole screen flickers. If virtual keyboard, only the chat history flickers, and keyboards remains still.
When I type anytthing, letters come on screen very slowly. VERY SLOWLY. After typing 2 lines, I have to wait 10 to 15s for all letters to appear. If I type more than 2 lines of text, some words are dropped (sounds like a 32 bytes buffer).
A few months ago, it did exactly the same (as described above); and then things worked fine again after 3 days.
Today, there is one tiny difference: if I turn screen off (via power button, lock app, or screen timeout), then, pressing power does not wake backlight. Only reboot can give me my screen again. But, apart from backlight, the phone keeps working fine: I can get incoming calls, and redial last phone number using BT earsert, or have video chat.
I presently have that last issue on my HTC Sensation, with yet an other difference: if phone (Sensation) is hot, even a reboot will keep screen off. I have to let my Sensation off for at least half an hour to be able to get screen work nomally. With the M8, any reboot gives me my screen back, immediately, even if phone is hot.
The way my M8 is slow makes me feel like it's missing video acceleration. But since this GPU is SOC, maybe it's an issue on the I2C bus between GPU and LCD ? I have removed and reinserted all ribbons; did not help.
If it was a software overload (what most google answers propose as reason for a slow phone), it would not had fixed itself last time. And it would not happen all of a sudden after a shock.

I have open the phone, dismounted most parts, disconnected all ribons, removed the two main PCB, and remounted it all ... twice, and now phone works almost perfectly. I have a bad contact in the top speaker; it has always been a known weak point of this phone; the connection is bad, and speakers are poor quality; so, sound is a bit low volume, and distorted when I use the device in hand (headset) mode; and sound is poor quality on this side when viewing a movie in landscape mode; I shall change this speaker again later (changed it already 3 times).
But regarding the bug of the day, after complete disassembly and reassembly of device, it works fine.

Display Graphic problem

I've got a problem with a OneX I'm trialling for work.
This is a stock device with the latest OTA update applied. I installed Good for Enterprise, activated it, and got my work emails. I opened a PDF attachment which opened for a couple of seconds then the display glitched.
The attached images show what I mean. The display is glitched for every screen. Soft resetting the phone was okay until it started again a couple of minutes later.
Soft resetting a 2nd time was where my real problems started. The phone vibrated as it started, but the display stayed dark. If I tap the power, the touch buttons light up. If I go through the motions of the lock ring and my gesture lock, I feel vibrations of my actions but can't see a thing. If I ring the phone, it rings, the touch buttons light up and the LED blinks. The display stays dark at all times.
Does anyone have any idea what's going on here? It's almost like when a graphic card overheats in a PC.
I would try a hard reset, see what that does, it should fix it as it looks like software problem
Squeeze your phone between thumb and forefinger (on the screen and rear cover) about 1.5-2cm in from the USB port, and slightly below. Let us know if the screen comes back on.

I think your phone is on drugs.
Seriously though, that's the scariest gfx bug I've seen on a phone.
Work were just as surprised as everyone else.
It's been sent back to them so they can talk with Vodafone about just what's happened with it.
In the few days I had it, it's a decent phone. The primary reason for considering the OneX is the screen size, and the fact you can read a PDF clearly on it.

Mine looks exactly the same once Ive had a few whisky's...
I had the exact same problem, so I shipped off my phone to service.
They actually changed the whole motherboard. I got my phone back 2 days ago, and it is working better than ever. Even better than before they changed the board.
My guess; Same problem as me. Busted motherboard. Im waiting to get a reply from the service guys that fixed my phone, so I can get some solid answers about what was actually wrong.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Sebastian

[Q] screen flickering

Hi guys,
anyone had an issue where the screen flickers really badly? Mine has been working great then today it did a weird glitch where the button bar at the bottom went halfway up the screen, and the screen flickered really bad, like a tube light starting up. Ive reset it and now its flickering like a fluorescent tube light. everything still works, but im on the phone to three now organising to get it returned.
cheers
Ray
ok, so an update to this. after leaving the phone on all day the flickering screen stopped flickering, however now i have an issue where plugging my ear pollution headphones causes the phone to now show as a headset with microphone, and the voice assistant to appear. It is also now getting really hot on charging where it didnt before, so my returns envelope arrived today, and its off back to LG for a repair. Seems very strange how its happened after a month of relatively light use, where my 2 htc phones were working great after 2 years of use?
anyway, lets see what rubbish comes back from LG
Home screen Magnifies
I have a weird problem with LG G3 screen
When i double tap to lock the screen .....Home screen Magnifies and if i double tap on that again it goes back to normal
I dont understand why .....can anyone please suggest me if any option to be tweaked under settings
Thanks
Vj Roshan

[Q] Touchscreen issue

So I have the WI-FI version. Since last night the touchscreen has gone whacky. If I press anywhere on the screen one and a half centimeters from the bottom up, I get multiple touches registered, basically I got these zones, specific zones where this issue occurs, I have not found them all. On these zones, I don't even have to press, the touchscreen is super sensitive there that it detects me from rather high up before I even touch it. In any case, it renders the device unusable for me as I cannot type in portrait mode, and just barely in landscape.
Running stock ROM and rooted kernel with unlocked bootloader.
I basically want to find out if this is some permanent issue that cannot be fixed, or something that can be remedied.

Touchscreen problems

Last weeks i noticed strange behavior of my Z1c screen. Sometimes it start to react without touching (gloves mode off). Simply, i don't touch it but it starts to scrol screen or (worse) send some nonsence on Messenger to my friends, which is really annoying.
Also, sometimes, it reacts like one finger is already on screen, and phone is performing pinch and zoom etc...
Also, sometimes home screen or P and E button on keyboard won't work.
All those problems are solved with turning screen off and on, but problems are back some time after that...
Just to mention, i am on stock KK .157 rom, without root or any other modification.
Also, last month or so, air temperature here was over 40°C, so phone heated too much even on light usage, and battery temperature was going up to 47°C...
Anyone can help me? Any advice? Is my touchscreen damaged due to high temperatures or it's just software problem?
Hardware problem i believe. It's a common occurrence with the Z1C
About the automatic message sending thing : whenever your phone is in your pocket and someone calls you the reply with text message option comes up hence it sends messages automatically to turn fix this go to settings>call>reject call with messages>click on the messages and edit it
All the Best
it's not messages app but facebook messenger, and that's only while screen is on. so, screen reacts randomly sometimes.

Screen off/no wake after "on ear" phone call

During phone calls while using the phone on my ear, the screen will dim like normal and touch is not responsive... But after the call, I move the phone away from my ear, the screen will not wake-up and requires waking with power button. I can only recall a handful of times where the phone acted normally after a call...
Anyone else experiencing this? I am rooted w/ magisk and I have verified the proximity sensor is working (using Droid Info app) -
I am turning off adaptive battery not only to see if it helps with this concern, but overall performance and will update w/ changes
Had this happen as well. Not rooted. Can't remember but i vaguely recall this with other versions of android

Same. And it doesn't happen every time.
Right after I posted this, made a phone call and it blacked out again this time no power button, double tap, shake, twist, etc would wake the phone. Eventually after about 2 mins it woke up again...
Possibly unrelated, but about every 1 in 5 reboots my screen won't turn on. Stays black, no back light. The phone still responds to ADB and fastboot commands, but nothing will turn the screen on until I hold down power to restart.
Same here.its happened multiple times. naked Pixel here, not rooted. its annoying.
I've made/received 100 calls since Thursday, and it happened for the first time last night. I was able to get it out of black by accidentally doing a screenshot while trying to reboot.
Happened at least 4 times today. Just noticed an update to the Phone app was released, let's see if that makes a difference.
No screen protector, etc.
honestly after some more calls with this issue, i think my dirty ear and is causing the close proximity reading... after the most recent episode, i went to the droid info app and it was reading the sensor at 0 cm and after wiping the notch off, it started to read correctly (5.0 cm) >>> i dont really want to give the haters another reason to dog the notch but, in my case, i think its going to be an issue. i may switch the "power button to end call" on and see if that will alleviate my issue for now -

Same exact thing happened with me yesterday, could it be a RAM management issue?

Thanks for the heads up. I have unrooted and naked 3 XL. This screen off thing was affecting all calls. If the remote party hung up, I was fine. If I got into someones VM, I had to sit quietly until the call dropped.
I added myself to the Phone app Beta program and updated. After several test calls, I think it's fixed.
