852/852g stuff - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I followed a post on redflagdeals to get my bell d852 to recognize the bands on the d852g
1. Go this this site and download the files needed.
http://lgg3root.com/lg-g3-root/how-to-u ... ick-lg-g3/
2.For dll you need to download the kit kat D852 dll. http://stockroms.net/file/LGG3/D852/LGD ... SHv160.dll
for firmware you want to download the D852G tot firmware. http://stockroms.net/file/LGG3/D852G/Vi ... 2014-0.zip
Once your firmware is downloaded unzip it.
3.Follow the instructions in the 1st link until you get to the step 7. There under dll find the dll you downloaded, under sw find the firmware you unzipped.
4. continue following the instuctions.
5. this will get you on 4.4.2 , if you want to upgrade to lollipop, go to this site.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthr ... ?t=2785089
and use the KDZ method.
download the lollipop kdz here. https://www.dropbox.com/s/x0qqpqjk78k5l ... 0.kdz?dl=0
got the info from xda, credit goes to unlocked01 from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/g ... 938/page10 for giving help and idea to do this.

Tha above worked great except the lollipop kdz was missing so I installed an MM kdz.
The missing bands are there now, but I'm stuck on LGMM.
Now I can't downgrade and I can't seem to get TWRP going.
I'd like to run a cm13 from late last year for xposed, but I guess lineage 14.1 would do.
I'm just not feeling the stock LG bloat.
Thanks in advance

I managed to get back to lollipop with LGUP
anybody have a link to lineage 13 or (a recent[decembrish]) cm13 for d852?

I need help installing kitkat

Hey,I have a f180l converted to e975 and I have a problem. Some days ago I wanted to install kk on my device, but I followed a guide for f180x models(I was on e975) and I think I have installed a f180l patch (http://i62.tinypic.com/118psb8.jpg here you can see the files). As we know that on f180x models is easy to install kitkat I wanted to install a kdz for 180 to get back to stock and to install kitkat, but, using the R&D test tool,it was written that I have the latest version of android already installed (but at that moment my phone was e975) so I can;t even get back to f180l. Is it possible to fix this problem? I want so much kitkat that I am ready to go back to f180l) SHould I install another modem or what?
I hope my english isn't that bad)

Lg g3 can't update to lollipop

Hi guys last month i have bought a lg g3 (d855) and its have the 4.4.2 kitkat version and when i try to update it is says that i have the latest version, and when i try to update it using lg pc suite its troubleshooting and cant update, please can someone help me how can i get the official lollipop update?? ☺☺
use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190 to upgrade.
should be able to get LP in some form from http://lg-firmware-rom.com/ by inputting your imei . it will be a .kdz file.
it will likely not be the most current version available for your device, but LP nonetheless.
best place to get up to date firmware is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/stock-t2961073
to use this link's software, you need to be rooted and have a custom recovery (twrp) installed, which is seamless. follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000 to root,
and install http://downloads.codefi.re/thecubed/lg_g3/bump/ via flashify. (make sure you choose your correlating mdoel, in this case d855)
following this, you will be able to make your way to LP

Understanding the correct KDZ file, help!

Hi,
I purchased the phone in the UK from the network carrier Vodafone. I have done a fair bit of research on the rooting and unrooting process mainly via videos and reading tutorials on XDA.
I would like to root the phone and gain super user access and install some Xposed modules but would also like to be able to unroot and flash back to a stock Vodafone firmware encase I need to claim under warranty. I have been trolling the internet to get the correct KDZ file and found this site (ttp://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firmwares/country.php?country=United+Kingdom). I believe that the correct firmware may be on here but am a little confused on what the suffix and software version means to be honest.
The reason for my confusion is that I updated the firmware to 6.0 Marshmallow through the LG bridge but when I now check my phones software version it states v20b-234-15. I assume this is right but from memory the first software version when I got the phone was something like H81510B_00.
I cant remember exactly what it was before unfortunately but the KDZ files I have found state H81510C_00 (Suffix - AVDFVK) and H81510C_00 (AVDFLR) and this does seem to make sense but I'm thinking it was B instead of C but and not 100% on that.
Do you think these KDZ files would be the correct one to flash back to encase I run in to some problems rooting?
I am also assuming that this KDZ is Android Lollipop and not Marshmallow so is it OK to use this to revert back from Marshmallow?
Thanks and any help would be much appreciated.
Ross
The 10X version are all Lollipop, 20X is marshmallow.
When flashing a KDZ on your phone, what's important is what model your phone is. H815 in your case.
If you want to restore to stock in case something goes wrong, you can find everything here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-lg-g4-stock-firmware-to-stock-kdz-t3107848
In there is a link to this directory: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G4/ where you find pretty much all KDZ files for G4 phones.
I'm not that experienced myself, but I rooted my phone just recently and I can share my experience with you.
I have a H815. It was a V10c-TWN-XX version (Taiwan). I updated to Marshmallow with LG Bridge also and the new software version was V20b-TWN-XX.
Marshmallow rooting is not possible on my phone because I can't unlock the bootloader on it. And Marshmallow rooting is only possible with an unlocked bootloader. Unlocking the bootloader is only possible on European phones (http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryTypeCode=ANRS). I asked autoprime (renown user and developer here) if I can unlock bootloader after flashing an European KDZ on it. He said no, having European software on it is not enough, it has to be a phone manufactured for the european market. Dont know why, guess because of different hardware.
So, not being able to root MM, I had to revert back to stock (downgrade) using one of the KDZs.
I chose the most recent one in the directory I linked (which is the Poland H81510E). In the "Go Back to Stock" thread I linked the OP says to use LG Flash Tool 2014, which unfortunately doesn't work with Marshmallow. But fret not, it works with LG UP! http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
When I tried flashing the KDZ with Flash Tool 2014, the process failed with an error at 5%. It worked flawlessly with LG UP. Here's more information regarding downgrading, but it really isnt hard. Just download + install LG UP. Launch it. Connect your phone. Choose KDZ file. Select option "upgrade". Hit start.
NOTE: after the firmware update was done, the phone rebooted automatically and for me it stuck at at the LG Logo (bootloop). But a simple hard factory reset did it, the phone booted and my new version was 10e-something. With Lollipop 5.1 of course.
After that, I rooted my phone using this pre-rooted image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/h815-eu-l-p-t-sea-twn-t3176195
and this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/...-tmo-vzw-intl-variants-soon-root-lg-t3164765/
I now have a "H81510e-EUR-XX" Lollipop 5.1 with root (SuperSU 2.49).
I don't really know about Vodafone and if carrier specific firmware is necessary in this case. If not, you could use any 815 firmware.
From the site you have linked with the KDZ files..... it seems they are all the same.
If you check the table for H815 KDZs from Vodafone, there are some 10C and 10D versions. Now I compared the fileKey parameter in the URL to the 10C files and the 10D files and also the bytes of the files.
All the 10C version are identical to each other, same for 10D.
Check out this screenshot I made for you: http://i.imgur.com/Ie0w4us.png
Bytes are also identical, so it's pretty safe to say those are the same files.
Dont know why they are listed several times there. The suffix doesnt matter.
I'd grab a 10D if I were you. But I think the Poland 10E should work, too. Better confirm it with somebody else though.
If you flash your system to 10e, you can use the pre-rooted image I used. Otherwise you will have to inject root yourself: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-100-root-success-directives-root-t3180586. In this method you create an image of your system and inject root into the image, which you then flash back on your phone.

HELP D858HK Downgrade to L from MM then root

Hi, there is alot of info about flashing and rooting the LG G3 on here. So much that I am confused. i have the D858HK dual sim variant i just want to make sure that i am going about it in the right way. I dont want to do something that was meant for the D855 single sim.
I recently flashed my D858HK to MM however i want to root my phone. I read that I can downgrade to L then root then flash with a prerooted zip to MM. I just need some assistance please to make sure I am doing the right thing and if my model is compatible.
Firstly, I downloaded the L firmware from the LGs site http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=41
however 20D is not available to download so i downloaded 20e (D858HK20e_00.kdz) for my phone. Will this one be ok for rooting?
Secondly, since my phone is D858HK which step should i use to downgrade using this guide? Should i use the LG Flash tool Step 1 or LGUP Step 3? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64624353#post64624353
Thirdly, to root will the guide here work for L D858HK20e_00.kdz One Click Root? http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
Finally, after rooting I would like to flash using Artshell's prerooted MM zip or Fulmics Rom. Which one would you recommend?
Advice and guidance will be much appreciated.
Edit. Solved. Delete please

LG G3 D858HK10d Unable to find a way to update to Marshmallow, stuck at KitKat

Hi.
I purchased a second hand LG G3 quite a few months back, only to find out after trying to update that my version was the D858HK, which does not seem to have any official way to update past KitKat on the phone. After some digging around, I did find some methods, like flashing the KDz file. However, none of the KDz files I've found on the internet seem to match the model of my phone, which is D858HK10d, or v10d.
I was wondering if there is any other way to get rid of KitKat and move on to the newer versions.
It is rooted.
Thanks in advance, XDA Forums. You guy's do the Android God's work.

LG PC Suite doesn't recognize the phone. And the kdz files there dont include the model of my phone, which is a D858HK10d.
Where are you getting the model #? The 10d part may refer to the ROM as 20x would be LP, and 30x would be MM.

10d is the Software Version of Android KitKat..
Your device is D858HK.
So you can proceed installing that kdz file.
