I have recently bought the chinese variant of Moto Z play (the 1635-03 dual sim) that I'm willing to flash with custom rom.
However, there's a stock app (a beast i should say:laugh that's installed on the phone "Securitylt" and I wish to have it installed on my phone after customisation.
The app gives you full control over the apps behaviour on your phone, excellent tool for privacy and optimisation
The trouble is, I couldn't find a trace of the app on the net. Does anyone know anything about the mysterious app
or anything similar really
thanks guys
Try to search a bit more.

Hi there, I’ve got the Chinese version of the One V and like most Chinese phones these days, Google account functionality has been removed.
I have rooted my phone and most of the Google apps that did not work before do work now (g-mail, Google maps ect.) Unfortunately the plays store is still inoperable. I can install now but it crashes shortly after launch. If anyone has experience with using playstore on a Chinese phone I would love to know what i need to be doing right.
Otherwise I am guessing I could use a rom from another region. my only worry is that it may not be compatible as there is some hardware variation, the Chinese version have an extra button on the front for quick access to weibo(Chinese twitter) I don’t know if that’s the only difference but it’s the only one I can see.
Any way if you have some advice on how I should proceed I would very much appreciate it.

what rom are you running in your phone?
I think he's running stock rom. But like he said the phone may have different hardware than our One V's
So we would need a list of the specs so we can compare them to ours if the hardware is the same u can just use our roms, but if it isn't than our roms will brick your phone.

Yes, it is the stock rom. I do beleve the specs on the phone are the same, i recall checking it out before i ordered it from Amazon, but i will dubble check to be sure.
Thanks
It’s a bit tough to find the information but as far as i can tell the hardware is the same. There doesn’t really seem to be a distention model number wise and the only way i can tell witch version a given site is talking about is based on the picture where i can see the extra button. So assuming the hardware is the same in all other respects does it matter which rom I install?
In that case it shouldn't. The extra button wont work than but apart from that it should work.

Hi all!
I picked up a Verizon Xperia Play r800x at a thrift store yesterday for $33. Needless to say, I was excited for the find!
I've been looking at the various roms available, and amd getting mixed messages on what is compatible with the r800x... A lot of the information I am finding seems to be outdated.
So, simply put, what compatibility issues should I be concerned about when looking for roms? I'm trying to find a debloated, gaming centric rom, but the ones I have been looking at do not specify GSM/CDMA compatibility. If anyone has a rom recommendation for the device, or can tell me what to look for, I would be very appreciative!
Just as an aside, I do not ever plan on using the phone as a "phone," since I'm on T-Mobile and, well, ya know. I do want Wifi to be working, obviously, but the cellular functionality is totally superfluous to me, if that makes a difference.
Thanks!

If you don't care about cellular service then you can use any ROM. I recommend you get gin2 jellybean or Aurora play, or xperia next 2 , or dixperia 3, or Bos. They are all great roms but you should also unlock your boatloader and flash a custom kernel like lupus v12 so you can over clock it'll make gaming a lot smoother

Awesome! Thanks for the reply! I'm probably going to be using dixperia 3, that one looks super nice!

So the real question is if you intend on using as a phone or not. If you do, I personally recommend unlocking, rooting, and staying with stock (debloat it with Titanium Backup or the like.)
You'll find that the original Verizon rom is ridiculously stable (very plain vanilla), has around 212 or more of free ram, and everything "just works" how it's supposed to.
Use Holo Launcher and Holo Locker if you want the JB look.

The OP said that they didn't intend on actually using it as a phone, as they are on the T-Mobile network (and thus couldn't use it as a phone anyway).
Also, the 2.3.4 Verizon version broke the Google sync, which causes a host of issues (Google Talk doesn't work, stuff done on the Google Play store website won't be noticed by the phone until Google Play is launched on the phone itself, notifications from some apps will not work).

I swear I didn't see that part :cyclops:. And you're right: 2.3.3 is definately the place to stay if staying stock.
That's unfair!
I'm bought one secondhand in 2015 for $41. Sh•t.
Hi!
I'm planning on buying the LG G Pad 8.3, but I live in Brazil and the Google Play Edition isn't available here. However, I really love the simple UI and clean software-design from Google (I have a Moto G, as well) and I've alson seen some people saying that, sometimes, there are a few performance issues with the G Pad that isn't the Google Play Edition due to, mainly, LG's bloats. I'd like to know whether it's possible to flash the stock ROM (download it from somewhere) and, basically, turn the v500 into the v510 (GPe). So, is it possible? If it is, is it also necessary to change the kernel? And, if so, has anyone done it before / could it brick the tablet? I'd like to buy one soon, because of the price and good specs, but I'm not keen on the software-design by LG and I'd like to have a "original" system running on it, not some modified/customized cyanogen stuff (although, if that's my only option to a better performance, I'd probably choose it).
Thanks a lot!
Hello,
You can simply install CM11 + gapps, you've got something close to GPE.
Hahaha...you need to root the G Pad to install stock Android ROM. Maybe You can find the stock ROM here on xda developer...but root the device first.

Right...
The only problem I've encountered is not finding the Stock ROM from the Google Play edition... And I've seen the CM11 based version, I just don't like the setting menu from CM11, but maybe I'll do that. The main thing I want is the virtual button to show the recent apps that is simply non existant on the non-GPe edition!

On stock ROM : long press home button !
I know that, I've seen some videos about it already... But I don't like it and it's a functionality that Google has considered obsolete since Android 3.0 and, for some stupid reason, LG and their GREAT software-designers still implement it. They really should follow Motorola on this regard, as they are releasing new phones with no bloat at all, using basically what would be a Nexus version of their phones.
P.S.: FOUND A TOPIC ABOUT THIS IN GENERAL FORUM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51834016
Basically, it doesn't work due to small hardware differences (WiFi and Bluetooth seem to fail after flashing the v510 stock ROM). However, I believe an AOSP ROM is still an option for better performance.

I cannot begin to imagine why that is desirable, where everyone would have the same phone experience. Very boring.
In any case I agree that LG has done some GREAT stuff with the software. If you buy a G Pad, you will see for yourself.
How do we install CM11 + gapps? There is no playstore app?
Just wondering if this has been done or not. My gf would love the same camera as I have on my nexus 5.
Thanks.

It's available for 4.4.2 but when one tries to download from playstore on our note II it doesn't show up,in the desktop play store it says incompatible so many of us grabbed the apk and it installs fine. Now where the problem begins is not all users are lucky depending on which 4.4.2 ROM or to be honest not really sure why get FC,but the most common reported problem is the wrench icon for settings when clicked it gives FC (not for me) ,and some of us tried various techniques to get it work i uploaded my /data/data/com.androidGoogleCamera folder on this Thread ,but didn't really help anyone when they copied pasted mine on theirs,so to sum it up i played around with google camera but at least for now it doesn't offer anything more than what our stock samsung camera app offers ,i use stock samsung and lenovo camera the most.
Hi guys!
I would like to use LineageOS with MicroG apps but keep the normal Sony style. So is there a package that includes all the stock Sony apps like launcher, home screen, camera, keyboard and so on? OK, I don´t need all of them but I guess I just can´t get them on PlayStore?!
Tried to find something with the search and also internet search but couldn´t find anything useful except an xda thread that SEEMS to have what I want but it´s intended to use on non Sony phones (and also only 7.0):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/7-0-sony-xperia-apps-nougat-devices-t3618532
Thanks in advance for any hints! =)

Have you tried these:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony-themes-apps/app-xperia-app-stock-rom-t3263403
No, not yet. I thought it would be better, if possible to install original apps due to the fact that I have a Sony device.
What about the camera? Seems like it´s not possible to use it without stock rom?! =(
