The charger must be faulty or the phone itself. Me too. My Honor 8 takes more or less 1 hour to be full.

The funny thing is if my phone is turned off it charges quicker.. it could be also a service wich consumes alot of battery but i dont see anything unusual in the battery history..
I also use Greenify so the services should get turned of.

So there are two possible things now. One is the phone is faulty, two is you installed an app that caused this problem.

Any news OP?

I have noticed same on My honor8.. but only If i leave FB or Snapchat running backround. Also old FB update (cant remember when) has issue when i "cleaned" from taskmanager FB was still running and used lots of battery. So im quessing that your problem can be caused by app or two..
I hope Huawei will make their own quick charge implementation like VOOC from Oppo.

Well I need to know from you guys, it's not that I don't know, but need to reconfirm. I think mine is taking much lower now than it was. A full charge, say from 5% to 100%, with Stock charger?

Charging from 0 to 90% happens in no more that 2 hours I would say. from 90% to 100% the charging rate gets slowed a lot. So basically shouldn't take more than 2:30 hours from 0 to 100%.
Thanks guys. Now I remember it was 2 hours 45 mins for me too at first.
Today it took 4 hrs 30 mins. Reason? I'll say tomorrow, after confirming.

I rarely charge it to 100%, usually to 70 or 80%. much better for the battery in the long term

you are welcome. the general rule is to try to 1) avoid charging to 100%, really diminishing return the higher it goes; and 2) avoid deep discharge cycle. I usually use 40% of the capacity at work everyday, so charge to ~70% in the morning, use down to ~30% and then charge again. charging time in this range is rather linear, about 1 percent a minute

Yeah, it happened to mine too few days back. My Note2 went crazy, taking around 7-8 hrs to fully charge from 15%. So, i tried searching about the problem on google but to no avail. Did a factory reset with cache wipe and problem solved :good:. Now it takes about 2.5 hrs to fully charge from say 10% (using the samsung wall charger with phone switched on). I can only say that the slow charging was caused due to some software but don't know exactly which one? You may as well try the hard reset if anything else doesn't work out .
P.S : Btw i'm on stock fw with no root or mod! Only did some OTA updates couple of weeks ago.
Guys, we have a changeable battery and is already writed Inside to android that it won't charge to 100%, it just shows at 100% but really it is at 95%-98% that feature came with 2.2.1 update 2yrs ago.
And we can change the battery after 2yrs for 20-30$, unlike Nokia lumia users or HTC one x or iPhone users.

Yeah, thanks. But if you've Watchdog installed then you can see which app is going over threshold and keep running on background. And yes, this time, again, the culprit was PowerAMP! Uninstalled it and voila. The same app created problem for me when I had my S2, charging was pathetically slow, even I had to go to SC and they said battery is gone. But I didn't believe and asked a techy friend and he said it might be some app, and damn right he was.
Anyway, if anyone having the same issue like mine, that is, charging duration has increased with Stock charger, then install Watchdog (the lite version will do) and see who is the culprit.
I have no idea how a top app like PowerAMP could cause this! Jeez!

Let me guess, one of those really cheap Chinese ones with the black and white labels? Those are sometimes okay (barely) and sometimes total crap. For not much more money, try buying an Ankers brand battery.
True, cheaper batteries are often not at all what the label says and perform worse than an oem one that is 4years old, but some are good, only testing the battery will tell
You can test if its the phone/ROM/kernel/apps causing the issue by looking for drainage and wakelocks with apps like better battery stats and watchdog
So the answer could be you need another battery or you need to change something about your phone, but you will need to test to know
Ohhh gosh not enough pocket money to buy a new battery

WIll do. The technician is expected tomorrow.
I got a visit from the Amazon person, but he wasn't a technician or an engineer. He told me that he will wait for 10 minutes to see if the phone reboots else will say that it is fine. Alternatively he could perform a factory reset and will then wait. But no tests (not even app based hardware tests).
If he would write that the phone was working fine, I wouldn't have got a replacement. Had to go on a phone call with Amazon and finally managed to convince them to replace, which I think was a good decision. Just before performing the factory reset (to return to Amazon), I noticed that the touch was becoming slightly sluggish.
I hope that the replacement does not give me any problem.
Thanks guys for your help!

What the fk. They should've sent a technician. But yeah since you're getting a replacement, let's hope it goes fine this time.
I've been having this phone for a few months now and at the beginning the quick charge was working just fine but then, suddenly, I'm stopped working. On the screen it said only "In charge". In the meantime I lost the original charger so I bought a new one that supports quick charge but there haven't been any results. Is there an option or something to activate it again? Do you have any idea what might be the problem?
