Hi there
I'm running LineageOS on my Xperia T, but it seems, that after 4 years, the device is defenetly ready for retirement. So I'm on the prowl again... (have some devices on the radar, like the Yotaphone or BQ Aquaris, but I do prefer to have a device "supported by the community" so I don't have to replace the device due to severe Softwarebugs that are not going to be fixed by the manufacturer anymore)
As one shouldn't ask on the lineage-site for "will you support xy"... Does anybody here know if there will be a "strategic alliance" (like 1+ had once) to supply phones with Lineage per default (eg. like BQ did with an Aquaris)?
As I know Lineage don't have an official phone yet, like it was for OnePlus One or Zuk Z1.
Maybe this thread can help you.
it did, yes...
tnx

As far as I could gather, yes, it is possible to get Nougat.
Things we will NOT GET, because of the GPU we have are: OpenGL 3.1 / Vulkan. Those two are only embedded in Adreno 400 and upwards.
This would mean that there is a chance for problems with games that might migrate above OpenGL 3.0 (which we have).
As far as I'm aware, the differences between 3.1 and 3.0 are in the addition of new libraries, so if the game needs those new libraries 100% and doesn't offer a fallback option, we won't be able to play them.

Yeah i also see cm14 unofficial for Peregrine
hope so
Redmi1s won't get any more
Actually not a problem of xiaomi but of **** Google.
This is Android (and OEMs and Qualcomm) not looking far ahead to support devices. They don’t care about customers. After sale support non-existent.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5s (same age as Nexus 5) with iOS 10 and later? Because Apple made it compatible with METAL apk from day 1. Because it has hardware encryption since day 1.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5 (4 years old) with iOS 10? Because Apple is willing to!!! IPhone 5 does not support METAL nor does it have ARMv8 chip…yet iPhone 5 is getting iOS 10…minus raise to speak to Siri…it is getting 99% of iOS 10 features.
Remember, major software updates also bring with it security features beyond “monthly patches.”
So, with all the resources of software (Google) and hardware (OEM’s and Qualcomm), Android cannot support Nexu 5 and the likes?! It is like buying a laptop (since most phones cost the same) and can only use it for 2 years. That’s insane!
When will Android community wake up and demand more? Google, OEMs, and Qualcomm will only listen if money talks.
And it is this crap that explains horrible re-sale value of Android flagships!
Hi guys,
I'm currently in the market for a new Phone and have narrowed it down to either the OP3(T) or the ZTE Axon 7.
After watching the announcement for the OP3T yesterday I fear that either devs will stay with the original OP3 and neglect the new one, or the other way around.
My guess is that since the phones are very similar, it wouldn't take too much time to port the current roms for the OP3 to the OP3T.
I have the same fear about the Axon 7 and its two versions for the US and EU (I'm from Germany so I would get later updates and possibly less community development).
Are there any statements from the devs working on the OP3 about wether they will support the OP3T aswell?
I had the axon 7 and send it back due no dev support.
No custom Rom available and it won't be much in future.
Also eu version I a 2nd class device compared with us support...

Oneplus has already released resources for Oneplus 3T and since the hardware in both phones is not very different, the development should be good for both the devices, i think.
News!
Device Status – June, 2018
Hello all and welcome to the June aquaris-dev team update of 2018,
Another 2 months has passed, with not too much excitement publicly (apart from that April Fools drama) - big news this month arrives. We missed a May update, but we were hard at work regardless. We won’t cover the stats this time, but you can see the stats of how popular our BQ devices are by checking on the LineageOS stats site.
Our BQ device news now
This month, we only really have news about the BQ Aquaris X/X Pro (bardock/bardockpro) device (it’s our first 64bit device) as we haven’t had a whole bunch of time to work on our projects.
We want to share our appreciation to BQ as they released the Aquaris X/X-Pro Oreo kernel source code before the shipping public OTA (as the their final BETA build was the same as the shipping GMS build) which is a great step for any OEM.
We’ll look into at supporting our older devices (msm8937 based as they MAY receive Oreo from BQ at some point) first with Android Oreo (Lineage 15.1) but as always, we are not promising support for these devices - if you have contributions to make, please get in contact to help speed up this project..
If the community is interested, we might do a blog post in the future explaining some of the challenges of porting LineageOS to devices so our readers can learn about why things take so long.
Aquaris X / Aquaris X Pro - Status (bardock/bardockpro)
We’ll work on getting final things tuned for a official LineageOS 15.1 release in the very near future. We don’t recommend using unofficial builds that are floating around on the internet for the device as we’ll be working on supporting official builds later .

Any news about the Lineage OS version for the BQ Aquaris X Pro? I'm trying to find a rom that looks similar to the stock one, and dotOS looks pretty strange to me, sorry for my english, take it easy
Same here, really would appreciate it! You guys rock
[I am sorry for the title, it;s quite misleading]
Honor 8 Pro is indeed a beast but this company is not for ROM development or atleast this phone.
Stop trying to Degrade/Root or anything else than updating through the stable channel. I have myself destroyed the device multiple times, although I did not hard bricked it, thanks to the almighty and was able to recover phone with that good old download folder method, but still, don't try anything with this device, use it if you have one and if you can't live for a day without root (there is no point rooting this device anyway, most modules won't work and the development is ceased anyways) sell it and get something that has developer support, OnePlus for instance.
OpenKirin ROMs are good. I am using OmniROM Pie Alpha 2 and it is great!!!!! It has all goodies (Pie + Honor Camera + no junk etc etc).
To be honest, it is always work in progress and thanks to developers (OldDroid and team), they are still coming up with best possible , stable ROMs for this beast!
It always depends on what you are looking out for!:good:

I have a Honor 8 Pro. 8.0.0 android and 8.0.0 EMUI
Model: DUK-L09
I have never rooted a phone before. The only thing I want to root it because it dose NOT recognize xbox360 controller with OTG cable which is ridiculous. Could you recommand me something ?
I have owned many Honor phones, and you're totally right.
The decision of not providing bootloader codes is somewhat good when it comes to this.
I've been using pixel experience for a couple of months but i think lineage os is a little snappier so i decided to switch back but I can't find the official build for it anymore, the device is nowhere to be found in the supported device list. Is this the end?!!
Yes. Maybe they will move to redmi note 7/7 pro.
They sure dropped this phone fast, its not even a year old. And besides the RN4 is still supported but not the 5? WTF
And theres still no global RN7 version either so why the rush.
One reason could be that many developers of this phone got an upgrade to flagship level phones like Pocophone F1. I'm assuming the official Lineage OS developer was one of them, which may have affected the update intervals and features with time. Maybe that's why the Lineage OS team chose not to keep this phone on their list. (Unless if a developer invests their skills and time on this).
Also, Lineage OS also didn't stand out that much in this device's forum because of Custom ROMs like Pixel Experience, HAVOC, AOSIP, and OEM ROMs like Oxygen OS and Samsung Experience. These developers have contributed so much that Lineage OS was not really needed that much. (Please Thank these developers on the forums and donate, if you can. They really have worked hard on this)
I could be wrong but it must be related to either of these things.
???
Does anyone has the last official build? is not on the official page anymore
