This is simply because as soon as you unplug your phone, it uses power. Therefore, with 10% battery step, it will say it drops 10%, even though it is actually at 99%. My phone did this as well til I flashed a 1% battery step fix.
If your phone drops to 80% within a few minutes of unplugging it, you have a problem. Hope this was helpful.

What do you have running during the day? What ROM did flash Ms2ginger over? I've had issues like that before. I would just start fresh, clean sbf flash, root, recovery, etc. Always fixed any battery issues that couldn't be fixed by wipe/calibration. Clean installs of applications (not restoring data), can also help.

well i started at fro yo(once) and re flashed from either ms2/that Chinese Moto 2.3.4, and during the day its usually background apps but its drained by the end of the day, almost down to 25% so don't even have the mood to play anything!
um i'd send out a few messages recieve a few calls over the day, and on a happy day a game or two for about 20 minutes! lol
i'm flashing cm7 just to see if theres a battery problem!
ps, i know this is off topic but is there anyway to change
a:the boot image (cm7)
b:the notification drop down (cm7)
ty
Edit:
The notification thingy can be hidden in cm7 it took me all of 3 hours to figure it out after playing around with it!

+1. Also with stock Froyo my Defy was loosing 2% every hour. After I moved to Defy+ rom by Walter79 the drop have gone down to 0.5% every hour. You can also try System Tuner and see if any process is having high CPU utilization and also check if your phone enters Sleep state or not.

Issue solved using dr. Battery saver full cycle charge working great
I too am having issues with battery life since the day I bought the defy. The original battery was giving me 1 day max with all gps/wifi/data switched off and 1 hour talktime. After making few rounds of the service centre had it replaced, but even the new battery is no better. With the new battery now I am able to get 2 days max with all data/wifi/gps off, and 1-2 hours of talk time.
Did the battery stat wipe too but no better.
Any better ideas?
I've searched the internet for that problem and found nothing so I'm trying my luck here.
My battery precantages is not linear at all.
When I'm discharging the phone from 100% to 0% the precantages drop really quickly until 5%-9% (Disabled battery saver when cross 15% of course) and then the precatnges seems to stop draining and every precantage last longer and longer until it gets to 0%.
From 100% to 0% I've got 2:45 screen time in my last test but between 100% to 5% it was only 2:15 screen time!
Meaning that every precent lower than 5% last 6 mins vs. every precent above 5% last 1.35 mins.
It's very annoying and happened to me also on unrooted ICS and then on unrooted JB and also on every rom-kernel combination I ever tried after I rooted my phone. (ARHD, OrDroid, Maximus, CM10.1, Renovate + NCX, XM, Komzik and stock of course).
Do you think its a hardware issue? Do I need to replace the battery? Or it's a common problem of HTC One X?
It's not a problem, it's a feature.
Why does it irritate you?

How's that a feature if power saver is off? Don't get the idea. I prefer that every precent will be equal. It decreases screen time alot if you don't reach the last precents. By half an hour! That's absurd.
Every precent can be 1.65 mins of screen time and by the time I will reach 10% I will have 2:28 screen time instead of just 2:10.
If it's really a feature so it's a bad one, How I can disable it?
If you have recovery installed try to wipe battery stats. then do a full discharge then full charge with out using it. Worked for me. had a similiar problem once

TWRP doesn't have a battery stat wipe option.
There is another way to do that without installing another recovery?

The file is deleted when the phone is charged.
The file has nothing to do with the displayed battery percentage remaining.
Deleting the file manually is a pointless thing to do.

So if it has nothing to do with my problem what does? I already installed various of roms with various of kernels and the problem persists. I have already full wiped everthing for too many times. Maybe it is an hardware fault of the battery indicator or somthing like that?
A ROM or kernel won't change it, the battery itself indicates what's remaining. I guess the lookup table or whatever is not well calibrated for the cells in your battery.
Get over it, it's not a big deal, you can't fix it other than replacing the battery, but that's not guaranteed.
To me, any HTC One X that lasts about 6 hours with 3 hours of maximum screen time has a hardware issue.
I have similar problem ever since I bought the phone last May.
Just by looking at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156311 makes me wonder what the hell is wrong with the phone itself.

Yup! Turning off all sensors, GPS, data doesn't help.
When one turn off the screen at eg. 70% then turning back the screen on after an hour of sleep time, it will drop to 65% or worse. Always made me mad when that happens.
Even any battery saving guides like getting rid of wakelocks doesn't help.
I usually get 5 hr screen time but depends a lot on what you do. 3G data drains battery faster than WiFi, GPS doesn't drain battery unless an app uses it, etc.

Turned off again just now, battery still around 60% when turned off.
My original battery got bloated, so I bought a new one, and the phone was turning off on 30% every time, then I called guarantee, they changed the battery to other one and this never happened again.
Maybe the problem is with your battery.

Sounds to me like your battery is on it's way out. When my original battery failed I experienced many random crashes, shut downs, reboots - the battery looked fine at a glance, but upon closer inspection (ie taking it out and laying it on a hard, perfectly flat surface) there was just the smallest, tiny amount of bloat starting to occur (barely visible - but enough to show the battery was past it's prime).
I replaced the battery, calibrated it and the problems all went away.

So, my battery is wack... and I think it's only been acting like this since I went to a KK ROM? Maybe? Feels like it...
I've had this tablet since it was released last fall, and this behavior is very recent.
Anyways, it dies FAST. Like nose dives in a matter of 5-15 minutes. What's even weirder, is that sometimes, if I power cycle the device, it'll jump up by 30-60%. But then just dies again in another 5-15 minutes.
And there's a screenshot after I just power-cycled.
It jumped from 11% to 71%!!
Crazy!
I've also tried letting it get to 5% then charging it to 100%, done that twice. No luck. I don't know if this is related, but if I power it completely off, and plug it in, it turns on... kinda weird. My Note 3 doesn't do that, it just stays off and shows the battery charge indicator.

Hi, I have similar problem and I am with 4.3 android. I have battery loss when I play games. It drops to 2-3% really fast and after reboot it goes up to 35-40%. Once I fully depleted my battery and charge it. This time there were no battery lost. After the second charging problem persists.
If you manage to fixed it please tell us how.

I have a similar problem with my p600. the tablet is new, got it since a month or less.
at first i was amazed of the battery life i use it a lot for work writing documents and sheets on excel, battery used to perfom quite well giving me more than 5 hours of screen on, but recently the battery starts to drop very fast, now i can barely get around 2 hours of screen on.
i've already done 2 cycles of full discharge and then charge it completely with the tablet turned off. but the problem stills.
also sometimes when i reboot the tablet the battery goes from i.e 20% to 40% after the reboot.
im still looking for a fix or solution, today i found a new official firmware for my model (4.4 firmware for telcel mexico). going to wait until the tablet is fully charged and then flash the new firmware. I dont know if its going to help but i got nothing to lose.
by the way, sending it to semsung is not an option because of knox 0x1

Sorry to bump this, has anyone found a solution yet.
I've replaced the battery 3 times in about 9 months, but had this issue about a yr, was sent back to Samsung who changed the battery and supposedly updated the fw 4.4.2, I have since replaced the battery another 3 times every 3 months, each time either factory resetting or flashing a new rom, currently on official Smp600 5.1.1 BTU rom, today my battery was on 47%, I plugged in charger and was watching/streaming a movie on it, about 80 minutes later the tablet shut off, which was odd it's never powered off while on charge, powered it back on and battery said 19%, my previous issues has been the same as others, it can be on 100%, play a game, or stream a movie,or watch youtube etc and it will nosedive dramatically 20/30% at a time, sometimes within 10 mins it's gone from 100% to less than 30%, it's clear there's some sort of issue if others have it, I was wondering if a thread should be made to list ppl with this issue to see how many there are and go from there.

I've been having the same issue for some time now. Calibrating the battery does help, I don't experience the problem nearly as much after calibrating it. But it'll still nosedive on occasion, maybe once a week. This is the app I use to calibrate it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
Hey there guys, fellow developers, I have a problem with my battery. To be honest I can't really tell if it is slowly dying or whatever.
I bought a used HOX and I am having weird battery behaviour. As you can see, I can get these stats over a day. (see attachment)
The battery percentage often jumps over time. When I'm multitasking/playing a game/surfing net, the battery often stay for example on 62% and after 5-10 minutes it immediately jumps down for example to 50% without showing proper battery percentage.
And vice versa... When I reboot phone with 30% it will reboot and then I'm noticing battery percentage jump but to the other side. (for example to 35%)
Today it jumped from 4% to 61% when rebooting. Lol?
By the way, charging is too slow and when I'm using the mobile at the same time it doesn't even charge up.
Sorry if this is solved somewhere else on forum, but I could not find that.
Thanks in advance guys. :fingers-crossed:

I kinda have the same problem. With "kinda", I mean the battery meter will sometimes drop down in 4% or 5% increments (ex. from 56% to 51% immediately).
Thinking of changing the battery too. If you did change yours, be sure to let us know if everything is back to normal.

As for the slow charging, if you're using a USB cable, you could try a custom kernel and enable "fast charge". The phone will charge with the same speed and voltage as an AC adapter. (It will disable access to your USB storage though until you untick "fast charge").
Even with fast charge I'm facing same problem like all they do ...
