AOKP-ANDROID OPEN KANG PROJECT
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they're "baked in" by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone's settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos
Features
Custom Toggles: Users can customize the buttons present in the Quick Settings pulldown which allow the user to toggle various functions of the device such as the Wi-Fi or the Bluetooth. Users also have the ability to create their own toggles should it not be available.
LED control: The color and pulsing of the notification LED can be custom set for various applications.
Navigation ring: Actions can be assigned to the navigation ring, to allow for quicker access applications.
Ribbon: Allows users to use swipe gestures anywhere and enables a system-wide custom application shortcuts and actions.
Vibration patterns: Users can build custom vibration patterns to be assigned to notifications from certain applications or calls from certain people.
Native theme support: Themes, downloaded from the Google Play Store or from other sources, can be applied to give a modified appearance to the device interface.
[*]Permission control: Support is included for revoking permissions from applications such as denying their ability to use the camera or wake the device.
CPU overclocking: Increase operating speed of the mobile device to improve its performance.
AOKP is designed to increase performance and reliability over official stock firmware releases.

U can take screenshot by pressing volume down + power butter for 1-2 sec.
If there is no option for adding it in power menu then i will add it in next build.

Ya i have forked the kernel from CM.
Just flashed candysix+opengapps (pico), and there are some issues that can be reproduced without logcat:
- touch delay. It's very annoying
- after setting up google account it doesn't sync cloud contacts
- soft reboot gives bootloops
- stock camera has a darkish tone when it focuses on low light conditions. Sometimes it's even impossible to see something
Otherwise pretty solid rom.

It's still in alpha,it will get better day by day. However Contact sync is Gapp's issue, its working for me with Slim mini gapps. All other bugs are known and will be fixed in further updates.
You did it. Thanks a Ton @ishubhamsingh.

@ishubhamsingh you are opening so many projects which is in fact a good thing to bring so many roms to people but, in my opinion, it's never about quantity, it's about quality. Instead of doing so many roms, pick 3 4 roms and provide regular updates and support. That is how you keep people sticking to your rom
P.S. I hope you are not offended, it's just a suggestion

Many of these projects already have a maintainer,so I am just doing it until they start doing official builds.
The ROMs which I will continue to maintain are beanstalk, broken, xperience and aokp.
And I'll be updating the ROMs, if important changes occur in the official sources.
And thanx for suggestion ,it was not offending at all.☺

Anyone else having issue syncing contacts? Everything else syncs fine(callander, apps, ect...). Also, i cant update my PRL with Sprint. When i goto update PRL it says none available. When i try and update profile, SprintDM starts and says "configuring device for voice and data" but it just hangs. I can confirm that sending and receiving calls works tho so this isn't really that big of a deal i just wish i could get my contacts to sync. maybe i need to try a different GApps package. Also, if anyone cant get Superuser to stick on first boot, dirtyflash the ROM on top.
EDIT: Contacts eventually ended up syncing after several reboots, playing around on the phone, and then eventually letting ii sit for awhile.
Thanks for bringing Exodus to Clark, great original ROM i highly recommend giving it a whirl.

Okay, thank you. I found the custom settings.
But lol, now I can't figure out where to edit the Quick Settings tiles.
I've been running this ROM since last night and so far everything is working good but one thing I just noticed. While on a call the screen shuts off but the touch screen is still active as my face was pushing buttons.
Otherwise its been good.

NOTE 1: The newest version Google Camera app in the play store does not fully support our camera hardware. You need to use an older version of the app if you want 100% working camera. You can download it from here and install it, then immediately go to the camera app in the play store and tap the 3 dot menu in top right corner and disable auto updates.
NOTE 2: I recommend using the newest radio and bootloader from the final factory image released by google (M4B30Z, Dec 2016). You can extract them from the factory image here, or use the ones linked below that I already extracted.
They can be flashed with fastboot.
Tip: If your device already has these versions installed, there's no need to reflash them. You can boot into fastboot mode and see the radio and bootloader version numbers.

How is the rom for non caf? What are the bugs? Is it stable? Does it have the pixel nav bar animation?

why don't you try it for yourself instead of asking what is working or not. that's why there's a custom recovery called TWRP so you can back up and restore your data.

Been waiting for this. Will Xposed work on 7.1 though?
FEEDBACK SO FAR:
At first, most of Google made apps didn't work, had to reinstall them. CM Bug Report app keeps crashing at every restart. HDR doesn't work on Google Camera (it's there but it doesn't work). Theme Engine missing is a known fact, we'll have it in future updates. Many CM features from the settings menu, don't work, they are present and active, but no changes occur when using them. Battery charges slow as you can see from the screenshot.
The rest seems ok, after 3 hours of use.
Offtopic opinion. The Navigation dropdown with all it's quicksettings and whatever is a downgrade for me. Lollipop/Marshmallow had better looking system graphics, with floating navigation bar and notifications and nicer animations when pulling the notification bar down. Now it's just fullscreen flat thingy.
Had to take this of my chest regarding Android Nougat...but we have to blend with the evolution right?

What version are you using? 2.7, 3.2 or 4.X? Have you tried video recording?

Always on the latest updates. It updated by itself after booting, it's 4.2.xxx
Video recording works. Google Camera used to have a bug and it still does on CM13, but on the Nexus 4. When trying to slide to video, it force closes... Same on my tablet with an unofficial CM13, it's a Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1.
I know the HDR doesn't work because usually it deactivates the flash when it's on, or the other way around (turning on flash disables HDR), but now it's doesn't do that and the flash works with HDR on and it shouldn't...
I think something like this was happening in CM12 and it started working after a few updates of the Google Camera and CM...
Still 3.2.045 is the last version supported in official stock rom so its ok

2. Some setting options are not working.
3. Developer Options are enabled but not opening.

Some screenshots are attached.

That was the lastest version for Marshmallow, right?
Downgraded and it works. Hope to see the latest version work soon, too...
Another short feedback: Apps sometimes have no sound, so you have to restart the phone...
Any CDMA love?

Hi,
Would you please check if everything's working with Google Camera 3.2 on this ROM? Mostly video recording, HDR pictures and the panoramas.
Thanks in advance.

Android. Infused with magical unicorn bytes
The unicorn eats nougat and farts rainbows
EXPANDING DEVELOPMENT FOR JFLTEXX I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE:Android Open Kang Project (AOKP) ROM for Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505Because Galaxy S4 still being powerful
What is AOKP?AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project.
Why AOKP ?We were waiting for when you'd ask this.
And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

@Kristhian
All good after near 24 hours, no issues noted, with tiny bit of kernel adiutor tweaking and nothing else, I'm getting around 4.5 hours screen time, mostly video. Seems as good as any of @Sides optimised ROM's of which I'm a fan and was a long time user
ROM
GApps
SuperSU SR5
My normal apps
And no greenify/forcedoze etc
Not even missing custom kernel and stweaks...so far loo
Good work
Okay, one small bug/weirdness, maybe just me...
Occasionally I've noticed the battery indicator (which I have set to text %) disappears. Going into Settings > ROM Contro l> Status Bar and tapping percentage again (not toggling to a different option and back) brings it back. Never seen that before. Not a biggie though.
Looks nice, working well, how do you disable hardware buttons.
Also V4A from guitarhero does not work properly.

V4A works fine, im using the same zip
Dont forget you have to
* Install BusyBox, i use Stericsons...
* Disable/Uninstall MusicFX app
* Rename /vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf to something else (i use audio_effects.conf.orig)
* Flash the v4a zip via TWRP
* Reboot
* Open the V4A app and install driver
* Wait
* Reboot
Ive used the same procedure since eons ago, including every Nougat ROM ive ever used, and apart from Oreo ROMS where it just doesnt work on most of them
You may/may not have to toggle Selinux via an SELinux mode switcher (theres 2 on XDA, i use this one), i already have it toggled for another app

It was a test build, but I don't have my S4 so I couldn't be able to test if it works or not. If you want you could help me flashing this kernel after flash DotOS 2.1 https://romhut.com/addons/kernel-b-...core-zip-e3d5bf84-1ee4-48fd-aad8-25166abccc33
If you get something please send me a private message.
Greetings
not booting

I've just had the same thing happen, as you say no biggie and easily restored. Strange though ive never seen this either. Excellent rom had it on my device for a number of days and cant fault it
great rom...only bug I've found is there is no auto brightness toggle on the notification bar...other than that it's amazing
Sorry for asking but does this support the i9505 regardless of which country???
tanks....
Just 2 potential issues
First of all thanks for this high-performance ROM. I just experienced 2 issues that I would like to share with the developer:
1. I use uConnect in my car without problems with other phones, whereas with S4 often bluetooth, after a successful connection, remains connected also after leaving the car, when I parked it and I went away (over the range of BT). This does not allow to be connected again when I came back in the car, I have to reset BT.
2. Sometimes I find the phone switched off, with battery charged. I switch it on, and all runs normally.
Atb
Solved issue 1. installing Bluetooth Phonebook application.
Now connection with uConnect stable in all conditions. A bug in Phonebook Access profile?
