Trying to get a friend's G4 working again, but this thing is baffling me. When he handed it to me, it was stuck on the LG boot screen. Took out the battery and it wouldn't do anything for a while. Eventually got it to boot and stick on the LG screen again. Got it in fastboot, but no options there and future reboots went straight into fastboot. Tried factory reset, but get a secure booting error (1006) and it bootloops for a while, then back to fastboot. Fastboot screen says secure boot is disabled and lock state is locked. Tried to adb, but looks like debugging isn't enabled.
I'm lost. What options do I have?

Hi guys, let me preface this by saying I am not a total noob so I have tried the usual tricks to get into the damn bootloader.
I rebooted my phone and when it was restarting it goes to the HTC boot logo, after a few minutes of waiting I realised that this situation was not changing anytime soon so held power button and allowed the device to reboot. As it did this I hold down the volume key as normal - vibrate, big white screen with the HTC boot logo again.
I have tried this a few times, always with the same result, the phone does not want to go into the bootloader for some reason I cannot figure.
Now I am looking for either a brute force way to get in or a nifty trick one of you might have found, as my phone is just sat on the HTC boot screen I need to get this dealt with ASAP so swift responses are REALLY appreciated.
thanks
Just to add, I am trying to use adb, so far I can use the reboot-bootloader command and the phone will reboot, flash up the bootloader and then back to the htc boot screen again. I am trying a fast fingers way to get into recovery (hoping I can select it quickly before it decides otherwise)
I think I may have a way in although would still love a bit of guidance.
I can now get to the bootloader, any attempts to get to CWM leads me to see the very first hint of the CWM logo but then it goes straight back into bootloop again at the HTC screen. I can send adb commands but get an error message when I try anything via fastboot or just waiting for device.
Right now I dont really mind if I have to flash each of the boot.img, CWM, rom - any of it from scratch, as long as I can resurrect the thing and most importantly get it done before I fall asleep - I doubt that the screen on constantly is going to do the phone any good
**edit, I can get into fastboot. I tried the fastboot reboot-bootloader command and it worked
The phone is stuck in the bootloop. It has original firmware (Lolipop) and the bootloader is locked.
So when the phone turns on it is kept alive for about 30-40 second and than it's starting to reboot. I have tried to turn on developers options in that time(and succeeded) but on the next boot developers options are turned of. Also I have tried to uninstall some random app (also succeeded) and also the app is here on the next boot.
Also tried to factory reset the phone ... nothing happens.
Also tried to uninstall apps or turn on developers options from Safe mode.
Any other ideas. (My plan was to flash custom ROM but I cant even unlock bootloader )
It's my fathers phone...it is end of the year and he is MAD AS HELL
Managed to unlock bootloader.
Does anyone know where is option to turn of fastboot on Lolipop. (on Kitkat it was under Power-Fast boot) ?
Hi,
Today while browsing my stock LG g4 (h815) suddenly rebooted. It showed the LG boot screen for a while but then ended up with a black screen. The power button does nothing. If I remove and insert the battery the power button works again, but I get the same result.
I can boot to (stock) recovery OK and if I connect it to a pc it shows 100% charge. I tried using recovery to reset everything but no change.
I am on holiday so can't easily send it in for repairs. Any ideas? I do have a Windows tablet pc with me with ADB on it.
Search "bootloop" in G4 forum.
Warranty is the only solution.
But this is not a boot loop? It seems to boot normally and then goes to a black screen, it doesn't reboot. I direct about the boot loop but from the videos I could find it looked like it kept booting.
I guess I was wrong trying to start it today it boot looped a few times before the black screen. Guess I will try disabling the big cores so that I will at least have a phone until I get home.
So I now have a G5. I am gonna sell off my G3 now but the only thing is i set it all back to stock but now its stuck in a bootloop. It will get onto the lock screen but within a second it will reboot and will be stuck in a bootloop. Is there ANY solutions out there because I no longer need this phone anymore as i have a G5.
So far, I decided since my tablet was running slower than it did when I first got it, to reset it. And since I was doing that, might as well unlock the bootloader.
Well, I unlocked the device, attempted to install TWRP, then got the remote failed error, unknown command. Apparently you have to install it via flashify or whatever. Anyhow...
I rebooted the device, but now, all it does is go into recovery, shows the android robot on its side for a split second, then starts flashing white then black on the screen. The only way to stop it is to pull off the battery connector.
The LG mobile tool can see it in download mode, send it the latest kdz image or whatever, works, but still goes back to the same error - boots to recovery then hangs.
Is there a way to fix this? Trying to get it to boot a recovery img didn't work. Erasing all data seemed to have done nothing.
Did you ever unbrick it...?
