Hi, does call recording work on P2?
It seems like only cellphone on the market with decent battery life, but this is important to me, so would like to know before i buy.
Thank you
Yes, I'm using this very good app i my every phone, and in P2 works very good if you are rooted
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643
I use ACR and it work flawlessly on all roms i've tried. And ACR has an upload function to your cloud, also works great.
call recording is automatically built into the p2 mine has it on the stock rom and works very well i didnt need any 3rd party app.
I have deoxed rooted stock Android 7.0.
@veimus What setting do you use (device, audio source)? For me the Call recorder does not work at all. During the call it tells me that it isn't able to record the call. In the list of devices, there's neither Lenovo P2 nor Qualcomm 625.
@ilmervanhattem What Android do you have? For me, ACR is able to record only my voice and the other person's voice is almost inaudible. It's because I have the MIC source set up so it only records what microphone picks up - and the ear speaker is quite far from the microphone I've tried different sources but they didn't work at all.
@sam00561 do you know the location where the audio files are stored? I enabled it but can't find the files anywhere.
It's built-in feature in stock firmware

Call recordings are stored in internal and then go to call recordings that's how it is on mine.
I managed to have the call recording working on my rooted Android 7.0 by using Skvalex Call Recorder with Recording method: Standard API and Audio source: Voice call uplink + downlink. The app is possible to patch by Uret Patcher (select 32bit instructions in the settings).

Note that if you have Voice over LTE (VoLTE) enabled, then no application can record the call, if I'm not mistaken. So I disabled the VoLTE. For that, go to *#*#4636#*#* -> phone information -> VoLTE provisioned to off.

Has anyone found a call recording app that actually works on our phones? I have tried 6 or 8, most of them "are not compatible with our devices". One I found (Total Recall) may work, but not having an engineering degree, I could not at all figure out whether it does.

Call recorder
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
I second the one above ( I think it's the same as this ):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder
I've tried easily 10 others, including Total Call Recorder. Skvalex's was the only one that worked flawlessly, and the customization is great. If it complains to you about your kernel missing the patch, test it anyways, because I had that error yet it still worked.

Thanks to both of you, it works like a charm! Since you both have used it, do either of you know if there is a way to turn it on in mid-call? I am an investigator and I usually chat with the person for a few minutes to prep them for my questions. Being able to do that would make it 100% perfect.
There is an option for that in the app, and it shows up for me by default. There should be a green record button ( switches to a red pause button if the app is recording ) showing up on your screen whenever your calls connect. If it isn't, try toying around with the settings ( sorry, I'm not sure which option it is, but I know it's in there ). You can also set it to exclude recording all calls by default if you want to manually start call recording when you're ready instead.

For proximity calibration you need to do a factory reset. every sony phones will give same error without factory reset. you can test it by keeping auto brightness on. if it changes according to the background lighting well you can say its working. however mic problem two reason. either water or dust might have entered in the part of mic or there will be a coating on the top of mic which might have been moved a bit which makes it difficult to make calls only.
take it to service or use to manuals the open it yourself to check it out.
Hello Developers !
I have an issue with my Galaxy Note 10+
It started yesterday . The problem is :
When i play audio files on the note 10 + they play normally no matter the audio format
But when i connect Galaxy Buds / Akg Earphones that came in the box *wired*
M4A audio files don't play anymore . Instead the file starts with a sound like a bubble pop and then a noisy sound like glitchy sounds with crackling . As if it's an audio hack
* that is with m4a files and some facebook messenger voice records for some reason *
So i tried searching for a solution .. i went to the settings and searched for a while
Then came across advanced bluetooth settings . And then i enabled dual audio
Tried again . Everything works fine . M4a and FB voice records . But only with the wireless galaxy buds .
The akg wired earphones still have the same problem and i can't find a solution
*I wanted to provide an audio sample of the problem but i don't have another phone to record
Hi, I have the same problem.
I have converted alla "m4a" Music File in "mp3"
The problem has appeared with the last firmware anda the July patch of security.

Here is a link to the next firmware that will be released. Perhaps your issue is what they are referring to.

I have this problem too. Downloaded music from youtube converted to music would play weird sounds through bluetooth speakers, provided headphones and car. But music from spotify works. What I did was unpaired everything and it works now, except for the headphones. I am still having problem with the weird noise using the usb headphone.
Hi,
I noticed with Android 12 there's a new feature to block camera and microphone access. I like to keep these blocks enabled unless I'm using an app that explicitly needs to use the camera or microphone. I noticed though that when receiving a call I had to unlock my device to unblock the microphone. I am wondering what happens if someone needed to use my phone to make an emergency call? Would the microphone be stuck blocked as they wouldn't know my password to unlock the device? Or, for emergency calls is the microphone automatically unblocked?
If anyone knows what would occur it's appreciated! Thanks!
I would guess that yes, the microphone would be blocked unless it was unlocked. I doubt if the permissions given pays attention or makes any difference what kind of call you're making. I could be wrong, though. Occasionally they set things up in a smarter way.
It's unfortunate that we don't have a way to test such things without breaking the law.
I'm not clear on where you changed the permission that causes that. Could you show a screenshot of the proper place? These are where I looked. The second screenshot is of where I got to when I searched in Android Settings for "microphone". I haven't changed them from the default settings. I know the microphone works with anyone I talk to from the lockscreen (such as incoming callers). It's set, of course, to allow the microphone for the Phone app only when the Phone app is in use.

Apparently you can still make emergency calls with it toggled off.
"Now that you can turn off the camera and microphone entirely in Android 12, there are two toggle switches that you can add to the Quick Settings menu, which you access by swiping down from the top of your phone's screen.
Toggling these settings on will not grant all apps access to your microphone or camera, but only those apps to which you have already granted individual permission. Emergency calls will be able to override toggled-off microphone and camera switches."

It wont let me change these settings, regardless of if im connected to a bluetooth device or not. Do i need to have other settings enabled/disabled before i can change the audio settings under the developer options menu?
I have the U.S model with the Qualcomm snapdragon chipset, running android 12 and One UI 4.1, in case that's worth noting.
Im not sure if these will be of any use but just for reference heres 2 screenshots of the menus im unable to interact with.
All other bluetooth settings between "HD audio" and "Bluetooth Audio Codec LDAC:"
I'm unable to change, even though i can open the menus and none of the options appear to be grayed-out.
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. Im fairly new here and android 12 as well (most recent android version ive used in recent years is android 8.0 oreo). still learning my way around.
thanks in advance for any help, answers, etc.

tldr: I’m no help, but I can confirm some parts.
I’ve got a pair of Sony WF-1000XM3. As long as the headphones are connected, I can turn on and off the HD audio setting and switch between SBC and AAC (they don’t support better standards).
My old Bluetooth speaker and a Jabra Evolve 65 don't activate this settings, so it depends on the Bluetooth version and supported audio formats?

Yes I can confirm that, same here.
It's as simple as connecting a headset capable of this codecs/options.
I think generally the best option would be selected automatically.

You can only initiate the changes for HD codecs when the bluetooth device is connected. Example, With Sony linkbuds S, I can select LDAC Or AptX. Once configured, the codec activates every time you connect the BT device.
