i have very annoying issue on my Xperia Z1 Compact... i have a lot of battery fails, in particular big drops from 55-45% to 0% or from 70% to 0% in one second...
i have in my phone the latest version of AICP Rom (aicp_amami_n-12.1-NIGHTLY-20170527)...
i have noticed that if i try to turn on my phone immediately it turns off after the boot screen, but if i try to turn it on a while later, it turns on normally and shows probably the "real" % of battery remained...
i tried to do a battery calibration with the Battery Calibration app from the playstore and to delete the batterystats.bin file from the recovery menu... but it does not work...
i use the app Root Booster to increase the performance of the phone...
any solution or suggestion to solve this problem?

If the battery is over 1 1/2 years old, it's a sign that it needs to be replaced.
change battery. there is a topic related to this issue already here.,
Yes change your battery to new. Issue gets solved.

hello mates,
I have rooted my htc desire and installed redux 1.2 ROM(gingerbread) with a ManU kernel...When charging the LED changes to green precisely at 90% (which i dont have a major problem with as it will go all the way to 100% if kept on charge)..also the phone will die at 10-15% of battery...I have read other threads regarding this same problem and am wondering if its a calibration error or is the problem with gingerbread ROMs as someone pointed out...Otherwise the battery is fine...and gives me a decent 1-2 days of use with moderate usage...its jus the problem abt the 15% n going dead which is a lil troublesome as the fone has died on me many a time for that last important msg, call or IM...any help appreciated...cheers..
That's not really a problem. The green LED at 90% is normal for android (try to fix it with battery calibration, helps sometimes) and the shutdown at 10-15% is also normal. Just take the last one how it is, all batteries are different. Some phones shut down at 5%, others at 20%.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
noticed this on ICS dev rom too but also had it on my old G1

You should try calibrating your battery for the 10-15% dying problem.
And as for the 90% LED changing to green, all AOSP ROMs do that, so no worries there
What worked for me was charging it while the phone is on, when the LED turns green, power it off and charge it again till it turns green.
Repeat this twice and then reboot.

This is to calibrate the battery. Some people find it useful to run a program called BatteryRepair, in my case I noticed a clear improvement on battery performance.
To avoid calibration problems with the battery, remember to unplug your phone when you flash a new rom!

Turning off at 15% of battery with Supernova 2.4 ROM
I am using Supernova Xtreme 2.4.0.0 ROM, and my phone turns off at 15% of battery. My battery is freshly calibrated and this problem did not occured with LeeDroid ROM and with the stock ROM neither. On the Droidzon page I have found some info in FAQ section, which says the following:
Question: Recently I let my battery go completely flat. When I switched my handset back on I was bombarded with forced close messages.
This has been reported once previously, but could not be reproduced under Sibere’s extensive testing under similiar conditions. For the same reason, unfortunately, we dont have a solution too. The OS is supposed to prevent a complete drain, and to shutdown at 15% and then 5%. The shutdown at 5% is supposed to be forced too. If it shutdowns, then this issue shouldnt occur. Data2SD depends on a normal shutdown to prevent data corruption. Once Data corruption has occured due to untidy shutdown, data is not unmounted cleanly, and then the issue can recur on every subsequent boot, which would require a complete reinstall.
So it seems to be normal, connected to the ROM, and NOT connected to my battery (it is calibrated).
My question is (which goes to Droidzone firstly), what should I do, if I want to use this ROM, but I do not want it to turn off at 15% rather I want it to turn off my phone at 2%?

I'm afraid this is not similiar to the issue in the FAQ. Your issue is that phone shutsdown at a level earlier than expected. The Data corruption issue is because the phone did not shutdown at the expected level and went down to as far as zero level of the battery, which resulted therefore in an untidy shutdown with no sync or clean unmount of data2sd partition, and hence ext4 errors. The 15% shutdown level is a normal soft shutdown prompt (which was missing in case of the issue reported by the user). The shutdown at 2% is the normal forced shutdown by OS.
As I said previously, your issue seems to be due to a poorly calibrated or defective battery, and it would help to do a calibration as per guides on XDA. If this fails, have the battery checked. To reiterate, it's not a rom issue and not something like a bug in the rom.
Thanks. So normally the phone with Supernova ROM should turn off at 15%. After that I have to be able to turn it on again, and use it till it drains to 2%, and shuts down finally.
For me it just shuts down at 15% and then when I switch it on and it boots up, the battery level shows 0% and it shuts down immediately.

No, a normal rom would popup a warning at 15%, asking the user to shutdown. If he doesnt, it would continue, and then give additional warnings, and finally do a forced shutdown at 2%. If it shutsdown before that forcibly, it's something peculiar to your hardware.
Ooops, so Supernova ROM should behave exactly the same way as a stock ROM (or any other) does in terms of warnings and shutdows.
I might try to do something with battery calibration. Should I do it before or after flashing Supernova? Or it does not matter? If I flash a new ROM, does it delete battery logs or it stays as it was before flashing?

Correct. For all intents and purposes, Supernova is exactly like a Stock rom. Difference is only in where internal apps are stored.
The so called calibration is just a file at /data, which means it will be wiped when you do a wipe for rom install.
[Update] Problem solved. I flashed UOT battery MOD after first boot (not before). Now it works perfectly.
A flashed the ROM again, did the battery calibration several times, but the phone keeps turning off at 15%. I checked battery voltages at different levels of battery, and I experienced that at 16% it is 3635 mV, then it turns off below 15%. When I turn it on, battery level is 0% and the voltage is 3390 mV, and when it is charged up to 1% it is 3723 mV, which is higher than it was at 16%. What is wrong here? Actually I use UOT kitchen battery MOD, can this confuse the system somehow?
Hello I have a problem with the battery .. Loading up 50 percent and becomes 100%. Accordingly falls to 50% sometimes 70% .. I do not know what the problem Mildvild use rum. Tried to calibrate the battery was wiped battery status for recovery did not happen again .. Please help

Is this an old battery? With my old batteries I found the phone would go down to 20% or 15% as normal, then it would just turn off. I did some research with Google and learnt a bit about discharge rates and stuff... Then I downloaded a couple of battery calibration apps from Google Play and tried those. This one seems to be working OK for me (on MW v4.4) at the moment:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=es.chorrapps.calibrar&feature=order_history
Noiw my battery counts from 100 to zero, then the phone closes down, like it should.
thx for the answer but i think that this is because the battery is old .. I tried very calibrations, but none was going to try this ... thank you. :good: my battery is acting weird since I did root the phone and put a new rum
I installed kitkat 4.4.4 in my grand it was working well but from yesterday phone is acting weird , i hv a new battery so no issue with it but while i charge my phone it stuck on one place like 80% , 85% even its showing that it getting charged so no issue with charger too..., pluged charger like half an hr ago and its on same position 87% !!
i installed latest update of ROM today. still same problem... and draining very fast too..
please help!!

No need to wait till 100%. Press that and change it to calibrate any time. Now go ahead with calibration. All the best.
Battery Problem
Guys
I updated my GD to 4.4.4 CM11 and everything is working ok except for one detail.
I carry my cell phone and start using normal, if not shut down or restart, but if I turn off or restart
sometimes ends when rebooting the battery for example was 74% back to 39%.
This has happened to me a few times, i already reinstalled the ROM, calibrated the battery but the problem remains.
Do you have any experience or story about this behavior?

Hi. I'm having a problem with my G Pro Stock Kitkat. After using a battery calibration tool, I suddenly experienced battery drops on my phone. From 100%, i checked the battery settings or status, and it says that I only have 3-5 hours to use my phone. I think it may be incorrect. After some minutes, I see my battery percentage continuously dropping like crazy. Could someone help me fix this? Thanks in advance.

We're going to need additional details in order to diagnose and possibly troubleshoot the battery drain. First and foremost we need to know which particular apps you often use on your phone. From there we'll need to see which apps consume battery while the screen is on and youy're on your phone, and which ones continue to drain while screen is off. I recommend you download battery monitor apps such as GSAM battery monitor (include also the root companion), as well as either wakelock detector or better battery stats. With those apps we'll be able to sense as well whether system processes contribute to the drain.
Drain your battery, have this apps installed then full charge your bat. Once full charged begin monitoring then send screenshots once battery is about to run out.
And also, battery is automatically calibrated by android so battery calibration apps are quite redundant.

In standby overnight, maybe 3-5% battery drain. A lot of things come in play though such as what apps you have installed, if your on LTE, or 3g, or wifi, or even go into airplane mode at night, etc.

first of all , I'd like to thank you for your reply ..
I've bought a new desire 816 two days ago and I can notice something wrong with the battery as it drains faster than normal
and it gives false percent as it increases after restarting the phone ..
I've tried to calibrate the battery by letting in turn off by itself then recharging it to 100% but then I realized It's still giving me false number
I don't know what to do ... It would be great if you can help

Have you tried a battery calibration app such as the one by NeMa in the PlayStore? It requires root but it basically asks you to charge your device to 100% which is done from empty to max in about 3 hours. At this point you go in the app while its still plugged in and "clear" the batterystats. This is the file that tells the device how much charge it can hold and on some devices this file gets buggy/glitched. It will wipe this file away and generate a new one based on the charge the battery holds at max. It then asks you to use the device as normal until it dies and recharge to full afterwards. This has worked for many and I hope it will work for you as well.
If you have excessive battery drain look at the Power settings and review the usage. If it shows a green line on awake and it doesn't show the same matching the screen on time then you have a background app sucking battery from the device. Facebook and its Messenger are known to be the culprits but if you download Greenify from the PlayStore. It will allow you to hibernate practically every app so there is no battery drain when your device screen is off. In combination with this app I am able to get an average day and a half of use with no charge and normal use with Videos, Music, Facebook, Messenger; etc. I average I use about 6-10 hours on this device with pure stock w/ root & Greenify with battery calibration via app done.

I fixed my battery issue. the exposed software killed mine relating to the same issue i believe you had or have. reporting wrong percentage. once had 50 percent, took it back out of my pocket and within 5 mons i had 4%. wouldnt charge.
Power it off... hold all 3 buttons (power+volume up+volumedown) after 15 seconds it will boot back up. this calibrated my battery. hope this works for you.
Wrong battery percentage report is fixed by HTC on 1.58 rom update. it works fine on 1.58 Rom
My battery on my htc is draining fast I think it went from 100% to 83% percent in like 20 minutes is this normal? I have disabled everything that I'm able to disable on this phone but once it gets to 70% the drainage kinda slows down
