If you still are able to go into recovery mode...just wipe the system, data, cache
reflash ROM, flash 2.79SR3 Supersu...
Have seen a few reports about the latest supersu files, making issues.

Latest SuperSU isn't stable.
Use 2.79

For whatever reason I can't root my OnePlus 3. When I flash SuperSU my phone will always bootloop until I wipe and install the ROM again without rooting. I've tried flashing SuperSU over stock OOS 3.2.7 and 3.5.4 and I've also tried flashing FreedomOS with the SuperSU option checked and I still bootloop. Does anyone have any idea what could be going wrong or am I just out of luck?
buddy just try with different and fresh download supersu . maybe thats work.

I tried flashing this over Oxygen OS 3.5.4 and I'm still getting bootloops, does it not work on the community build?
Just a wild guess here. Have you unlocked your bootloader?

Make sure the system partition is mounted in TWRP before you flash. That could be your problem.
Hello everyone, I am using OOS 4.1.6 on my new 3T, however I am unable to get root even though I have already tried with latest TWRP, magisk 12, and SuperSU 2.82. Nothing worked everytime I've got not rooted on root checker.
Please describe in steps what you did.

Hi,
We unclocked the bootloader, then we did flash with twrp 3.1.0 and installed SU 2.82.
After doing all this, the phone was not restarting.

Well first of all, format your whole phone over TWRP. (System too, but make sure you have the full Oxygen OS zip on a computer.)
After formating all partitions, move the full OOS zip and Magisk 12.0 on your phone. Flash the OOS zip, restart your recovery and flash Magisk after it.
That worked 100% for me all the time.
If you still need assistance with that, we can setup Teamviewer so I can guide you through this.

Same here! The phone freezes in boot animation screen. Even the animation stopped!
Guessing it's about the f2fs file system. I used to have a situation like this with Oneplus 2. My step was to format data and cache partitions back to ext4, and that worked.
Using 3t now, still not rooted. Don't want to start over after bootloader unlocking

I had the same problem and was solved with twrp 3.0.4-1 and SuperSU-v2.82.

Ok, I will try and update here then.
I'd say wipe everything possible in TWRP except for system partition, then boot the system and then eventually flash some kind of a root package - either Magisk or SuperSU. I always do it that way and it works. I am not really sure but otherwise it might have something to do with the data encryption.
Use following and you should be all set (just did it 2 days ago):
1st Flash Stock Recovery (go back to stock - https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...-3-3t-and-go-back-completely-to-stock.456232/
Flash TWRP after you achieve STOCK OS 4.1.6.
Use this TWRP version for now (there is some issue with 3.1.1-2 i saw on forums):
twrp-3.1.1-0-oneplus3t.img
To Root just use Magisk-v13.3.zip (IMO way better than SuperSu + has MagiskHide for AndroidPay/Snapchat/SafetyNet checks):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
That is it, done!

Thanks you are a life saver
I had the same problem and was solved with twrp 3.0.4-1 and Magisk-v13.3
So I unlocked the bootloader, flashed custom recovery - twrp-3.2.1-2 - and clean (wipe everyting) flashed lastest stable Oxygen OS (5.0.4). Then restarted the phone to recovery again flashed Magisk Beta(16.3). After than flash reboot to system but twrp is opening again. Same thing with Super SU.. Please help.
You should boot up your phone first and then flash Magisk. Also, in these cases I suggest using the latest stable build instead of a beta.
Did you boot up the OOS 5.0.4 first or just rebooted straight to recovery?

At least /system and /data. You could try dirty flashing without Magisk but if it's not working factory reset and do it properly
Also you really should use blu spark twrp instead official one

As people replied:
Using codeworkx or blue spark twrp and using stable magisk 16.0 may be safest path.
Let us know how you manage.
I would say: fastboot flash codeworkx or blue spark and clean factory reset install full 5.0.4 and go from there to flash magisk 16.0
Need help, i have been using custom roms since i got the phone, was on the newest cdroid from today or yesterday, decided i wanted to try OOS, i updated to official twrp 3.2.0.2 and downloaded the full OOS zip.
Formatted data, transfered OOS zip and magisk 16 to phone, wiped everything except sdcard, flashed OOS and when I tried to flash magisk it gave me a error code 1. Tried blue twrp tried OOS 5.04, and still does the same thing please help!
I had the same error last night but it's all right, you can go ahead and continue, it will boot up. You can install the universal TWRP by codeworkx.

Let It boot oos first time, then try with magisk 16.3 in TWRP official.
I managed to root my redmi 7 miui 11.0.3 global stable with magisk 19.0 and LR twrp 3.3.0-0420. Everything was fine. Then I updated my magisk to 20.4 by direct install (recommended) methodnand rebooted. Then also It was fine. But when I rebooted into the recovery to backup my system, after completing the backup and rebooting this problem occurred. Now it's stuck at Redmi logo for 2min and then goes automatically to fastboot mode. Though I can still access my Twrp. Please help me. How to revive the device.

Thanks for the reply. But i solved my issues by flashing stock MIUI rom after wiping everything from the same recovery.
BTW I think Magisk 20.4 caused the trouble because i read at many places it caused bootloops in other devices too. Is magisk 20.4 workinf for anyone else? Which Magisk are you using?
Thanks Again!

11.0.5.0 Global and the official TWRP.
Idk why miui 11.0.3 global stable and magisk 20.4 with Lr Twrp didn't work out for me.
