We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimisations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.
On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.
Pie
We’ve been working hard on redesigning this key feature of our portfolio and we’re really happy with how it has turned out. The whole design has been reworked and it fits in well with the overall feel of Google’s Material Design. This gives you the opportunity to use more gesture based control for navigating, rather than using the standard Navigation Bar at the bottom of your screen. Expect improvements and additions in the future.
Color Engine
We’re proud to announce our newest feature - Color Engine. Color Engine allows you to seamlessly change the colors of your device to be in Light, Dark (Pixel) and Black modes with a variety of accent colors to choose from. This makes changing the theme of your device really quick without having to install any extra packages on your device.
Major features:
- Reworked Pie
- Color engine
- Immersive mode
- Buttons customization (including navigation bar)
- On the spot controls (OTS)
Minor features:
- SafetyNet Compatibility
- Battery/Notification LED control
- Recent tasks locking
- Battery icon customization
- Google now page in default launcher
- Substratum (OMS) support (Color engine will be deactivated if you use Substratum)
- Quick pulldown
- Various performance and battery improvements
- Display Burn-in protection (for OLED screens)
- More to explore
Device specific features for OP3(T) (List is being updated):
- Oneplus 3(T) custom camera HAL: Resulting in better picture quality than OEM.
- Implemented custom picture background processing leading to very fast shutter speed (OnePlus 3(T) specific)
- Offscreen gestures
- sRGB support (OnePlus 3(T) specific)
- Alert slider customization
- aptX and aptXHD support
- Specific device performance and battery optimizations (details on this coming)
Note: Custom kernels are explicitly unsupported and will cause issues
unless they state that they are AOSPA compatible or AOSPA based!

Good to see you all back in the game!

Cool, welcome back. Humble suggestion....include instructions for flashing that are specific to the Pixel devices in OP because of our need to flash TWRP and others such as Verified boot signer for folks on 7.1.2 May already.

Great release! Being running since yesterday and working great. Two things:
1. Anyway to turn on Enhanced 4G LTE Mode? I haven't seen that option yet.
2. Any word on getting the Google/pixel camera to work? The app from the play store force closes repeatedly.
Thanks for the release again guys!

The google camera in Beans Gapps worked great.

Does this person realize that Pixel XL is not "Oneplus 3(T)"?

This should probably be moved to the ROMs section of the Pixel XL page.

Same error for me using Open Gapps. Unfortunate as I wanted to use the aroma and install most of the Super package. Anyhow, I used the latest Beans Gapps from the Beans Gapps G+ page. The 05/09 release full version. At least I think I did. If that doesn't work, I may have also used the Stock Open Gapps. (I got a bit confused since I flashed 6 ROMs last night). But I don't think stock Open Gapps overwrites the camera with google camera so it must have been Beans Gapps.
---------- Post added at 04:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:08 AM ----------
My Pie controls no longer show the google assistant shortcut or the time and battery information or nodes to snap the pie controls to the side of the screen. The basic pie controls still work. Any ideas how to get the other features back?

Dirty flashed went ok it seems. Couple force closes on calendar and play services but none after that. Best of all is I have the Google camera back!
Another item I'm missing is the visual voicemail in the phone app. Keep getting the Verizon cryptic sms messages regarding voicemail now that the voicemail tab is gone.

And here I am with a Verizon Pixel hating my life...

always bootlopps when i try and root it

Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano and Banks GAPPS work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_bacon_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the GAPPS package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, do not do anything else.
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM & GAPPS. Meaning, do not flash anything like a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

Welcome back guys,
I do have a question, is there any chance you guys have also given some magic to the camera? Because I thought you guys are affiliated with oneplus, maybe having access to the good stuff ^.^?
Don't currently have the time to reinstall my phone, so can't test it myself.
Kind regards,
domistroy
6.0.1 is a great update to 6.0, lots of issues ironed out that were plaguing the initial release, congrats and thank you!
I just think that the in-call volume could get a bit more love, I remember it being far louder on the previous ROM I used daily, Sultan's CM13. It is still too low and some static noise can be heard in the background while talking to someone.

I don't use themes to be honest, always tend to run Android the way Google meant for it to look and feel.
Maybe you should try reinstalling the theme itself and try again how it goes.

In that case I don't know really, mine is working just fine, no force closes even when I open the Themes app. The only difference from my setup and yours is that I'm always using OpenGapps, but yet again, don't know how would that impact the theme engine...
You probably have something else installed that might be causing it.
What camera blobs that this rom using??
Hopefully otg usb will work soon!
Thanks for the awesome rom!
Awesome you guys are back i haved always loved to switch roms from PA to CM back and forth because both roms are amazing and now i get to have pa mm on my opo The new boot animation is killer too
For those FCs with Themes and Themes Provider, please clear the apps data and reboot. It's in the G+ pages but probably needs a FAQ here too.
FWIW not all themes work, even with CMTE. I'm guessing some work is needed either in the TE side or by the theme's Developer

Hard to say for certain. The updater-script requires /system to be EXT4 though.
Can anyone confirm the latest build is EXT4 only as well?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock android for your device.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Wiki.
Important Info
Information and installation instruction can be found on the LineageOS wiki here.
NOTE 1: The newest version Google Camera app in the play store does not fully support our camera hardware. You need to use an older version of the app if you want 100% working camera. You can download it from here and install it, then immediately go to the camera app in the play store and tap the 3 dot menu in top right corner and disable auto updates.
NOTE 2: I recommend using the newest radio and bootloader from the final factory image released by google (M4B30Z, Dec 2016). You can extract them from the factory image here, or use the ones linked below that I already extracted.
They can be flashed with fastboot.
Tip: If your device already has these versions installed, there's no need to reflash them. You can boot into fastboot mode and see the radio and bootloader version numbers.

why don't you try it for yourself instead of asking what is working or not. that's why there's a custom recovery called TWRP so you can back up and restore your data.

FEEDBACK SO FAR:
At first, most of Google made apps didn't work, had to reinstall them. CM Bug Report app keeps crashing at every restart. HDR doesn't work on Google Camera (it's there but it doesn't work). Theme Engine missing is a known fact, we'll have it in future updates. Many CM features from the settings menu, don't work, they are present and active, but no changes occur when using them. Battery charges slow as you can see from the screenshot.
The rest seems ok, after 3 hours of use.
Offtopic opinion. The Navigation dropdown with all it's quicksettings and whatever is a downgrade for me. Lollipop/Marshmallow had better looking system graphics, with floating navigation bar and notifications and nicer animations when pulling the notification bar down. Now it's just fullscreen flat thingy.
Had to take this of my chest regarding Android Nougat...but we have to blend with the evolution right?

Always on the latest updates. It updated by itself after booting, it's 4.2.xxx
Video recording works. Google Camera used to have a bug and it still does on CM13, but on the Nexus 4. When trying to slide to video, it force closes... Same on my tablet with an unofficial CM13, it's a Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1.
I know the HDR doesn't work because usually it deactivates the flash when it's on, or the other way around (turning on flash disables HDR), but now it's doesn't do that and the flash works with HDR on and it shouldn't...
I think something like this was happening in CM12 and it started working after a few updates of the Google Camera and CM...
Still 3.2.045 is the last version supported in official stock rom so its ok

We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimizations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.

Install instructions
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Pico work best.
Okay let's get to the main bit.
We recommend a full wipe.
Flashing order:
1. Back up to PC everything you would need (whole of Internal Storage including and not limited to
Titanium Backup folder, Music, Pictures, etc)
2. Reboot into TWRP Recovery
5. Format all partitions except the "internal" partition**
6. Flash AOSPA zip
7. Flash Gapps zip
8. Flash SuperSu or Magisk (optional)
9. Reboot System
** For F2FS on /data the internal partition needs to be wiped too.
First boot time would be about 3-4 minutes on an average.

Thanks for your work mate.
grabbed few screens.
Yes!!!
Thanks Bob will try and report soon !
Feeling kind of bad to deliver the bad news so fast, but i am stuck at Google logo. I doubt it is a ROM fault, more likely incompatibly between the CAF kernel and my chineese non-oem cheap screen I use. The logs are given below, if you could help me.
Thank you @marcomarinho!
You helped me out a ton as well. SafetyNet would still be broken on onyx were it not for you! Good job
Nice Marco

Yup, unfortunately non-OEM screens do not work with CAF roms. I dont think there is anything you can do..

+1 here
What I did was mount /system and then remove some aosp apps using TWRP's file manager
Specifically Calendar, Email, Pa browser, and MusicFX. It worked
Gotta wait to see how this is going to work with ota updates tho

SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. Our main goal is to offer users a slimmed down yet feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by our public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
Slim7 is the project name for SlimRoms based on Android 7.1.x Nougat, which offers the following original features:
-Slim Navbar & Hardware key rebinding
--Single tap action, long press action, double tap action! - We’ve got you covered.
-Slim Actions & Chamber of secrets
-- Customise your device to the fullest - You’re a wizard!
-SlimRecents
--A faster alternative to stock recents - Your device, your choice.
-SlimLauncher
--An open source, feature filled launcher! - Make yourself at home
-Status bar customisations
--Clock and date? Battery? - More fun than you can shake a stick at.
Important links:
https://slimroms.org/ - Official website with anything SlimRoms related
Installation steps:
-You MUST unlock your device's bootloader in order to install Slim; I won't cover this area, however you can look it up here in the forums or ask me anything about it.
- Install the latest TWRP
- Download the latest build, gapps (optional). Place on internal storage or an sdcard.
- Reboot into recovery mode
- Wipe --> Advanced wipe --> data, cache, dalvik, and system. This is a clean flash, therefore you will lose your apps and their data; (sd and storage are not mandatory to wipe, so anything in there's going to be fine if you don't do it) remember to back those things up if you want to keep them.
- Install the build, the gapps and the root zip if you're going to root.
- Done! Reboot and enjoy. Remember the first boot always takes a few minutes.

Just installed Gravitybox and tested myself, looks like the same issues here. A reboot after applying some different settings didn't work, the only thing that seemed to work was brightness control under status bar. I'm compiling a personal build of Slim for my G4 Play and when it's done I'll try there too to see if it's an issue with the ROM sources itself or if it's phone-specific.

Gravitybox does say custom rom use is hit or miss so it's not surprising. I know slim is missing a few features so using gravitybox is desired, but still not surprised.

Like many similar modules GB works best on close AOSP clones. That said, it works fairly well on most ROMs excluding areas of direct overlap like navbar, quick settings and status bar tweaks. I ran Slim on a different device and don't recall significant issues with GB compatibility. But that was awhile ago; things may have changed.
Thank you for the ROM. So far working great!

I really appreciate it, thank you. I'm currently starting development of a kernel, but I plan on releasing a new update to Slim in a few days in case they update sources to the February security patch, and I want to include a messaging app and some kind of browser right out of the box, that way it's a bit more convenient when first setting it up. Someone also found a way to get LTE working for CDMA, only tested on Sprint currently, but we're going to be working further with that to try and incorporate at least part of the fix, I'm going to see if they can get a guide up on here for everyone for the rest of it

New update in OP. Nothing major, just a few upstream source changes. I personally like ROMs to be updated until the source stops updating, so expect a crDroid update soon too. Dot no longer is updating their Nougat branch (To my knowledge) so I don't think there will be an update for that, but I'll check regardless. In a few weeks I'll (hopefully) be releasing a custom Kernel I'm working on too if all goes as planned!

Common Ques:
Q: Is there any common Pie discussion thread available?
A: Sure here it is! https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/discussion-pie-rom-discussion-thread-t3834902
Q: Are you going to update it daily?
A: Only when I get time, since its official now, it will get every security patch
Q: How much fluid is it?
A: Use it and decide then
Q: Is this ROM smoother than XYZ ROM? ?
A: Do compare yourself
Q: Can you make overclock kernel for this rom?
A: Nope (If I do, that would be a separate project)
Q: Suitable for Daily driver?
A: Depends on your usage
Q: Are you going to fix bleh?
A: Whenever I will feel to fix, whenever it will be possible
Q: Facelock stops working after reboot, did you notice?
A: Okay, I noticed that happening, what is workaround, is to go to smart lock, select improve face matching, then save face data, then in battery optimizations (Apps>Trusted Face>Battery), Select Dont optimize, then your facelock will start working again, even after rebooting
Q: Screenshots?
A: Check #2
Q: When will you release the next build?
A: Asking for ETA is a sin
Q: Want to report bugs! Device is dancing like a maniac
A: There is an old meme I like bout this
Q: I want to donate LineageOS developers, and whoever maintaining ROMs, they worked so hard for titan
A: Here you can do that

Can you tell us about the lag and fluidness of the rom? I didnt like the Pie and Oreo I've tried and returned to 7.1.2 but never the less I really appreciate devs making efforts to make our old moto g to be updated.
Thanks for your work and for giving us a new rom.
Does app drawer scrolling is smoth or not????

Finally Pixel Experience android 9 for my great friend g 2014, thank you all the members of the rom I love all of you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you do not give up on this rom for this device.
Just how??
I've been wondering for ages if Pixel Experience Pie would be a real thing or not as it was discontinued in the official site. Today I found out this post and got to flash it...
What an amazing job for the developer!! This ROM is even more fluid than LineageOS 16 in my Moto G2 of 8GB. Not 60FPS by far, but completely usable as second device for music, social media or really low games (#Drive, Smash Bandits...)
Im gonna keep using this device for a week and I will update its evolution.
REALLY IMPRESSED <3
A facial lock option is not working.
Update(21/04/2019)
Some FC fixed (Google Text To Speech and many)
SELinux fixes
Enabled Google Assistant (OK Google)
Few optimizations
Attention:
1. To make Google Assistant work, you might need to select Google as Assistant Default, to do so, go to Settings>Apps & Notifications>Default Apps> Assist and Voice input, select Google as default. Then reboot.
2. It might cause lag while using assistant, not because of pie rom, but your device has 1GB ram and new Google app needs new hardware things, make sure you dont complain about that, recent Google Apps are pretty heavy for legacy devices
3. You can always update google apps, but new software might cause lag...If you want to stop auto updating google apps, you can turn if off on playstore
4. Those who are facing facelock crashes, flash this right after flashing the rom (Before opening Smart Lock)

Consider I flashed the update without wiping the previous ROM, just as an update
First of all, everything seemed to work fine, but after couple of minuts later, Pixel Launcher restarted itself non-stop. The fix was just deleting the app's data.
Assistant works perfectly fine, I think is the first ROM I've tried that runs it. (I tried Pixel Experience Android 8.1 and LineageOS 16 Unofficial)
Also performance upgrades seem to be present, but slightly, which is completely undertandable

Dirty flashes are still not recommended, i ll tell when it would be fine to do dirty flash
First of all, thanks for bringing this one to us. You rock man.
I've been using latest build since release, not a single bug so far. It feels just as smooth as LOS 16, though it has a little stuttering while scrolling on drawer (with every launcher I tried), and this is the only lag I see. Great, nice improvement from previous build.
However I noticed three **REALLY SMALL** issues that somehow bothers me and I'll try to describe them at my best considering my poor english. Please note that I dont care if you ever gonna fix those, I'm sticking to this a little longer as I love PE.
1- Icons on default launcher looks cropped as if they are bigger than they should so they get somehow 'squared'.
2- Offline charging shows no percentage.
3- (oh boy, this is gonna be hard to describe) Buttons on navbar gets buggy sometimes. Remember that bug on google photos, which made pics look as if they were 'scratched' or with 'missing pixels'? This is it. Everytime I scroll to google feed or open and close drawer (everytime an image or screen goes behind navbar, for that matter) buttons get buggy. Clicking the weird button fixes it, however.
Well, this is it. Great job @thedeadfish59. Thank you very much for everything you've done so far. Peace

Well, this is it. Great job @thedeadfish59. Thank you very much for everything you've done so far. Peace

Thank you very much, I have a lot to thank you for striving to develop such a wonderful rom for my faithful friend, Moto-G2, I hope that in the official version she is one of the best roms.
I wish all the success in the world for you, and once again thank you very much for being interested in this simple device but that there are still many people who use it.
OBS: I hope you understand what you are not just writing, help from my friend "Google Translate."

Great work. Does anyone know if the touch delay issue exists in this rom?
