i have some questions abut mi 5 - Xiaomi Mi 5s Questions & Answers

hi every one
i want to buy a new smart phone
i have some questions abut mi 5
1)so i watch youtube video its was so bad.... is this phone bending?
2)price in my country is 300 for mi5 and 325 for mi5 s .... witch one is better?
3)best antutu benchmark on mi5 and mi5s?
thank

1)so i watch youtube video its was so bad.... is this phone bending?
Mi 5S is thought to be sturdier than the Mi 5. But with a good quality hard case I really doubt you'll ever get as far as bending it, especially not by accident.
2)price in my country is 300 for mi5 and 325 for mi5 s .... witch one is better?
Mi 5S is the updated version with faster chipset and new fingerprint scanner etcetera. Some people argue the software support is better on the Mi 5 though, as it is sold more. Hard to make a hard case of that argument as it is mostly speculation from people who don't have both and cannot see in the future.
3)best antutu benchmark on mi5 and mi5s?
Almost certain the Mi 5S as it has the superior specs.

so mi5s is not bending right?
and its faster?
how much difference it has with mi 6?
tanx for answer bro:fingers-crossed:

It will definitely not bend. I've never put a cover on mine and almost every time I sit on my sofa to play PS4 I end up sitting on top of it haha.
Yes the Snapdragon 821 is definitely faster than the 820 I've had both the mi 5 and mi 5s.
The mi 5s (not plus) share the same camera as the Google Pixel, which Google claim is the best camera available on a smartphone today.
Finally the fingerprint is wayyy better than mi 5
As for the mi 6, that's a beast of a processor it has (Snapdragon 835). Camera setup is a dual telephoto camera. The only drawback (for some, I personally use a pair of letv cdla headphones) is that it lacks the audio jack.

Which one, leeco le pro 3 or xiaomi Mi 5s plus?

I have to get rid of my phone and buy a new one in the next 2 weeks, I won't upgrade anytime soon so it has to be a SD821. which one of those two do you guys recommend and why?
As i can see, 5.5" size is important for you. In your position i go for OnePlus 3T.
Mi5s Plus, is a no go for me, that dual camera it's even worst than Mi5 camera because it's to much dependable of image algorithm where Xiaomi sucks.
It has oled 5.5", SD821, dash charge that it's better than QC 3.0 and super community support.
If Size was not important, all the way to Mi5s (not plus).
My vote goes for either Mi 5s Plus or Oneplus 3T. I think the software is better on the 3T (better international translations).

Mi 5s or Mi 6 which one to buy now

Dear All,
Please I need your suggestions as I am confused between Mi 6 & Mi 5s.
Whose camera is better? And which one is best for gaming.
The price for both are as below
Mi 5s - 250 USD
Mi 6- 350 USD
Thanks to All
Of course if you can get mi 6. It is better in everything except the price.

Ya me to think mi 6 is better, some people saying that mi 5s has better camera sensor imx 378, same used in google pixel
I have both 5s and 6. Here are some Pro/Cons for each. Please note that I have the 4GB variant of the 5s, so if you get the 3GB, performance may vary.
5s
Better front/back Camera
Google Camera Mod
Official LineageOS Support
Lighter and a feels a bit more narrow
Headphone Jack
Finger print reader is not as good
Mi 6
Front camera is worse
Back camera is good but GoogleCamera mod has an issue with focus/switching HDR on/off everytime
Portrait mode is pretty nice and has OIS where the Mi5s does not
Feels a little quicker than the 5s (821 vs 835)
Fingerprint reader is much better than 5s
Mi 6 is heavy(some people like this, some dont)
Honestly, my only complaint with the Mi 6 is the front camera and focus being bugged with the GoogleCamera mod. Hopefully that gets fixed somehow...
Please note I do not play any games, so I cannot expand on that.
Also, just my personal opinion, but I think its hard to find the 5s in black anymore. (I prefer the all black)

Thanks for such a detailed comparison, I already own a mi 5 & I am satisfied with it, another phone I need to buy for my wife, I guess the camera of mi 5s is better ( only my opinion)
And also I can save 100 bucks, and it will solve the purpose I hope, any idea if Mi 5s is supporting JIO VOLTE network in India?

Sorry, not sure. VoLTE works here in Japan.
If you are not looking to flash ROMs and installing mods, the Mi 6 is probably a better overall phone. It will also have better/longer support. (Android Oreo) is being rolled out in alpha/beta now.
I think the Mi 6 with 4GB RAM is a little cheaper too.
10/10 you should buy Mi6 if you have the budget, its worth w/ the price. Considering the spec.

Confused between Mi 5 & Mi5s

Dear All,
I need to buy a new phone & getting confused between Mi 5 & Mi 5s
Please suggest which one is better over all.
Mi 5 3/32 or Mi 5s 3/64 GB
Price difference is only 30$
Thank in Advance
Mi5s is a upgraded version from the Mi5 with a better build quality, bit faster processor and a better camera. So in my opinion it is really worth those 30 dollar with current custom ROMs making great use of these plus points.

...And with really sh*tty fingerprint reader. You get better fingerprint reader on xiaomi redmi 3s.
With my phone it's working perfectly (always has btw), and so is with anyone using the latest firmware as far as I know.

MI5s ultrasonic fingerprint reader was advertised as very accurate and fast and you could unlock phone with wet or dirty fingerprint, but in real life that's not true. From the beginning speed and accuracy wasn't so great and few months ago my fingerprint reader just stopped working.
Google is full of links like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/5glh5l/xiaomi_mi_5s_fingerprint_sensor_the_worst_i_have/
I regret i didn't buy xiaomi mi5 or oneplus 3.
Which were firmware problems. Those were fixed recently.
/EDIT: To be fair I think for most people the Xiaomi A1 is a better choice. Excellent build quality, Android One, much better battery life, more network bands and a nice low price of 180 euro's at the moment. Unless you game a lot, you probably won't feel the difference in speed all that much.
Example (other shops have roughly same prices):

Or if you want better battery life you can go with Xiaomi redmi note 4 or Xiaomi redmi 5 plus, but they don't have band support like A1 and stock Android. If you don't game too much, everything with Snapdragon 625 or similar would be good enough for everyday usage and battery friendly. Also you can consider buying Huawei honor 9 lite or Huawei honor 7x.
Buy MI5s for its camera. FP is okay don't worry not as fast as others but if that is your main point I have to laugh.
Well, the build quality of Mi 5 is a bit worse.
I strongly recommend to buy Mi 5s instead of Mi 5. It's the improved version of Mi 5 with full-metal body, faster SoC, better camera sensor(same as the Pixel).
I'm using Mi 5s and I think fp is ok.
Better buy neither of them, they are both ****y phones, buy something from oneplus or mi 6/mix 2.

Oh, it's so helpful to writing this without telling any reason.
Battery in this phone is joke, fingerprint scanner works 1/10 of the time, ram management does not exist.
Again, just update the firmware...
It won't help, trust me
Fingerprint working near perfect on my Mi 5s with latest Global stable ROM. I really like my Mi 5s 128GB, only battery time could be a bit better, but that's the CPUs fault mostly.
Also have a look at the Mi 6 which offers optical image stabilizer, which the Mi 5 also has, but the 5s sadly lacks.
I have previously owned both 5s and 5s plus. 5s has good build quality and camera but bad fingerprint reader and mediocre battery life. The larger sibling, 5s Plus is much better IMO. More vibrant screen, slightly faster performance, much better fingerprint reader and battery life. The image sensor on 5s plus is worse but still takes good images if you install the ported google camera mod. I would also consider Mi Note 3 or Mi Mix 2.

Did you have the Mi5S long enough to install the firmware version of the first of March? That one has given the big change. Before that, the FP sensor was indeed not very good.

No, I sold mine in february this year. I am suprised that they finally fixed the FP-reader (one and half year after the release).
I think everyone is
Battery life and FP reader are solved in Miui Pro BETA by Belorus team. Non beta roms all have bad battery life anyway. I do talk here with gaming and without. Now i freely use it all day

Xiaomi MI series vs. Xiaomi REDMI series = which line is better?

Xiaomi MI series vs. Xiaomi REDMI series = which line is better?
Everybody knows that Mi series goal is to be better than Redmi at least in specs and performance.
But how about performance to price ratio, how about all other things that You dont worry and dont expect in REDMI casue it's cheap but You do expect it in the MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in REDMI series if there is any? WHY? Cause we all know not to expect wonders for a low budget priced phones.
I've talked to many people who had/have REDMI and MI series Xiaomi phones (clients, selllers, internet folks, friends) and they only agree on ONE thing -the price is great wheter it is REMI or MI phone.
A strange thing happens.... REDMI owners are always satisfied. The only thing that bothers not all of them is the camera quality.
But in low and middle price segment REDMI beats EVERY other BRAND.
Xiaomi has also great prices in the high end flagship models but here MANY PEOPLE are dissapointed.
For example camera quality, screen quiality, body, bezel, bugs, no NFC, no european B20 LTE band.
The MI users also tell me that non of the above bothers them but something totaly different. EACH person = an original problem with MI device.
Can You please tell me what are Your problems/dislikes with MI and REDMI devices cause I'm about to buy one from each segment?
What should I worry about (Android updates maybe?) buying a REDMI and a MI phone IN YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIANCE?
People who complain about camera quality on the MI Mix 2 are comparing it to flagships that cost significantly more--and that was before the price drop on the MI Mix 2. At this point flagship phones from Samsung, Apple and Huawei cost more than twice what a MI Mix 2 costs. If you are willing to spend $800-$1000 on a smart phone then you will certainly get a better camera. I don't expect a fantastic camera at this price point.

I'm sure the releasing Mi Mix 2S had something to do with that price. And BTW It should have equal cam quality like S9+ (DXoMark)

In other word. MI/Mix are designed by xiaomi itself. Redmi is provided by a company called longcheer, even though xiaomi is holding much of it's share.

So in the long run (to receive updates for example as long as possible) it is better to buy a Mi rather than Redmi phone?

Hello Guys.. A few questions until my phone is bought:

I'm gonna hit myself in the balls and buy the Mi A2 Lite (I owned a Mi A1 phone but I broke it) and I want to check out this phone because why not? (Don't say it)
Did XIAOMI fixed their mistakes with the Mi A1? Missing EIS, broken updates etc.
People who already have the phone:
How is it? Good or bad for that price range? (I know I could get a better phone for the same amount of money so don't say it)
If anyone had a Mi A1 is anything better with Mi A2 Lite than with Mi A1?

Well, I don't know about the Mi A1, but I've been using the A2 Lite for a few days and everything looks great...if you can get the 64/4 for 180-200$ or the 32/3 for a bit less it's good enough.
You could get better phones, for me android one is the deal-breaker. I just like stock android, and hate OEM's skins.
Battery life is really good, camera is ok, no laggy UI and it's updated to the latest security patch (August 5th).
If Android One is what you're looking for then yes, this phone is good for it's price range.
It's not a camera phone, but it takes nice photos if the light allows it, and is not a gaming phone, but gets the job done on my day to day use (which consists in no social apps installed, only Boost for Reddit and Whatsapp)
For the most part is a smaller A1 with a bigger battery.
I come from an S8, and I don't miss a single thing. Maybe the USB-C, but I couldn't care less. I needed a phone with near to stock Android, good battery life and comfortable size. This is it. If you have other needs, you can get something else for sure!

1- I don't know. If I'm not wrong, no EIS by default, but with GCam I got some nice video stabilization compared to stock camera.
Only two OTA updates until now, both installed without problems, and they both come regularly in the second half of the month.
2- As you said, you can get better phones for the same money. The main reason I bought this phone is the 72 mm width, that you won't find at this price with all the features of Mi A2 Lite.
3- I don't have Mi A1 but the main differences with A2 Lite are the dimensions (A1 bigger than A2 Lite), the battery (3000 mAh on A1 vs 4000 mAh on A2 Lite) and the screen (regular 16:9 A1 vs 18:9 with notch on A2 Lite).

Too early to tell with the software but it does come with Treble so that is a bonus, It does see like EIS is included in the video and seems to work.

Coming from a OnePlus 5, I wanted something smaller and this was one of the few devices under ~72mm. The 625 is sufficient for everything I do (Mostly Calls, Texting, Youtube & Social Media) (No Games). Camera is acceptable, not great not unusable. 4000mAh is just an awesome bonus. Phone is nice and loud. The only other device that caught my eye is the Nokia 6.1 Plus but I'm skeptical because the camera might be worse, isn't widely available and audio quality is questionable.

Phone still kind of big prefer it was a bit narrow and shorter.
Yeah same here but there aren't many options.
I've just ordered the Lite from Amazon. I've had an A1 for 2 days, but it seems broken so is going back. Main reasons for not going full A2 are the battery, I have a million micro USB cables, and the size. I don't need a top end phone, so for £155 and Google One, the lite is a total bargain.
