Review of the Qi CHOETECH Fast Wireless Charger - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Accessories

So I picked up the Qi CHOETECH Fast Wireless Charger from Amazon. RIght now its $20, but there's a slickdeal code that knocks a few bucks off. I really like this charger. Its simple, clean, and a cool LED in the front that you can see from across the room that shows blue (powered on and full charge) and green while its charging.
I paired this charger with the Dumvion Qualcomm Fast 3.0 charger and it worked great. I didn't give it a go with the Samsung brick charger that came with the phone, but this worked well. I'm seriously thinking about buying a few more of these for other rooms in the house and one for the office.
I tried it both in portrait and landscape. No problems either way.

How long to charge 0 to 100?
Enviado desde mi SM-G955F mediante Tapatalk

I bought a very similar (but has smoother edges) one off amazon 3 weeks ago. Why do they insist putting such a large bright light on the front for bedtime chargers?!
Mine works well - charges in about 3 hours.

Good Question. I haven't gone that far, but from 80% to fully charged it was less that 15 min.

I saw that one too and I went against it. It appeared to be very similar, but I liked the hard edges more at a better price.
In the dark it wasn't terrible and the glow was not over barring, but my room is never pitch black, so it might be hard for me to say.

Insulation tape will cover it!

Maybe you could put some Indy 500 stickers over it.

Just one VERY IMPORTANT THING to know. The unit has NO wall charger. You're going to have to supply that yourself. If you don't use one that can deliver a high enough charge, or plug it into a brick that can deliver enough of a charge, you're not going to get a fast charge.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but I have paired the new leather look Samsung wireless charger with a 3.0 charger unit and have not indication that it is fast charging..
I also have one similar to the one you posted here and that seems to charge much faster than the Samsung when plugged into the 3.0 charger.
Is there anyway of checking charging speed?

I too would be very interested in anyone testing how long is the charge from 0 to 100.

Using a Choetech QC 3.0 wall charger with a Choetech Fast Wireless Stand I was able to charge my Galaxy S8+ from 0% to 100% in about 3 hr 10 min. Don't use any original Samsung adaptive quick chargers because you'll get mixed results as I found the hard way.

Best Charger For GNex (or any USB device)

I've been hunting for an extra, high quality, 2A USB charger for my devices - but I didn't want to pay $25-$30 to get a Samsung or Asus 2A USB charger. And then I came across this blog entry by Ken Shirriff where he went and reviewed 12 different USB chargers including genuine and fake apple chargers + other brands.
http://goo.gl/rym3M
Really good and informative post. Definitely recommend a read. For the Cole's notes version, apple makes great USB chargers ... but not the best. The best USB charger in this review actually turned out to be the USB charger that came with the ill-fated HP TouchPad. This charger has very low noise and voltage drop characteristics.
What's more, you can actually get these great HP chargers for $15 on eBay. Or via Kijiji for $15 if you're in the Toronto area.
Mine is off Kijiji and here are logged screenshots of my GNex charging from 12% to 100% with both the Samsung charger that came with it and the HP Charger.

FYI, I use this charger for both my GNex and my N7. I've posted OEM vs HP Charger graphs from my N7 here.
I see nothing in those graphs that makes me think one is better than the other. The lines are virtually identical, they go from 12%-100% in the same amount of time.

It doesn't buzz like the stock one and it doesn't get hot when charging the GNex at ~1A like the stock one does. As well, this charger is capable of handling tablet charging as well. Guess I should have indicated all this in my first post.

The post is rating the chargers on far more than just how quickly it charges a phone.
Just to add my two cents, anecdotally, before even seeing this post, I was going to say that the touchpad chargers have been the best I've used also. Glad i bought 4 or 5 of them for $5/each when hp went on their firesale binge.
I read that same article and bough two of them months ago for $6. They are great. They do have a slight buzz if you put your ear up to them but nothing like the samsung one. Highly recommend them.
Interesting article. Not really sure what to make of it though, beyond not buying counterfeit chargers?
I've actually got a bunch of those HP chargers for my Gnex. I got them straight from HP for $4 each last summer. Very awesome chargers.

Well... the battery charges at the same speed for both the stock 1A charger and the HP 2A charger. The device itself regulates how much power it will draw, and drawing 1A from a 2A charger is surely more efficient and will result in a longer lasting and better charger, as well as one that can be used for tablets and other USB devices that want to draw more than 1A. I wonder if you can take the 2A charger and put a USB Splitter or something on there and charge 2 1A devices at the same time... I'd imagine so.
I use my OEM Galaxy S4 charger. It charges all of my devices faster than any other charger I've ever tried.

Typical 9999 day warranty. I'd stay away. We all know these cheap Chinese electronics go bad on day 10,000.
instead of going for the cheapest go for the most vfm.anker external batteries.check em out on amazon.they tout the maximum capacity for a given price range.astro series;10000mah pack i am using currently.it comes with 18 months warranty.you may opt for the smaller ones too.
I have bad experiencing with those cheap battery packs. Usually they have a high capacity, but they still lose charge very quickly.
I had a 5500mAh battery pack for my Galaxy Nexus, which should be enough for charging it 3 times. The first 3 times it worked alright, but afterwards I was lucky to get one charge out of it. Still, one charge is of course always useful.
Can't be any more disappointing then my fluxmob bolt. Spend $60 and it'll charge about 30% of the battery.

Alright, gonna make this review based off one charge.
It arrived yesterday afternoon and I put it on the charger for 8 hours. It has three LEDs on the side that show how much remaining charge the unit has. I discharged my phone to 13% and rebooted then plugged this thing in. The phone thinks it's charging ac so the phone charged to 100% in about an hour and a half. The unit is blinking the final led now. So one full charge is expected.
I'm satisfied and if anyone has any questions let me know.

Nice review. Gonna pickup one myself now
Got pretty decent results with this. Getting around 100 charge. Also goes on AC mode which is good in getting the charge up quick
Yeah that's what I'm seeing. It's nice because normally about 6 hours into my shift I get down to around 14% then I plug into this bad boy and charge it back up before I head home and start the rest of my day.
Just leave the battery on the charger in my car then take it back into work the next day and start the whole thing over again

No to anything with the name Samsung. The LG Optimus G Pro E980 charger plug I have is 5v 1.8amp. Get any correct USB cable and make sure the plug is at least 1.8amp, a 2amp plug will also work. I have trouble with generic car chargers that are only 1amp, they keep my phone alive but take hours to charge it and it will eventually burn up the USB cable but not harm the phone. Trial and error results.:good:

You can use an iPad charger, which is rated at 2.1mA if you have one of those. The charger I got with my phone was 1.2mA, should get at least 1.5mA rated charger for faster charging performance.

Hey guys. I just bought this phone and It's great except I'm having the same charging issue. The travel charger they sent me was dead(tried it on 3 different phone) and all my usb chargers and cables are old. Look for a used iPad charger in your local market. It can be for the iPad 1st gen even. I've never used off-market chargers with expensive gadgets, a couple of my friends' phones were fried that way.
I have noticed, keep in mind I just got this phone so still learning it, when my battery wasn't fully charged the LED on the home button wasn't working quite right. It was working but very dim. Now that the battery is fully charged the LED is nice and bright and not dimming on me. Is this normal? A power saving feature maybe? Or could there be something wrong with the LED board underneath?
And most Ipad chargers are putting out [email protected] amps. Isn't that a bit too much?

I'm sorry, I don't know of a seller for the original charger but perhaps your problem is that the OPO charger is 2.1A (2100mA) so that might be it.

I use an Anker Astro 12000mHa power pack to charge mine and it charges in the same 1h50m from 2%-100% as the 1+1 charger. It goes from 2%-90% in 1h20m but like all phones the last 10% is where the charge rate slows.
I use the smart charge port on it by the way.
Blackberry Play book 2A chargers work insanely well, and ridiculously fast. Full charge in under 45 minutes.

Good Wireless Charger?

Has anyone found a good, reliable wireless charger for their G7 yet? (My cheap $15 charging stand isn't cutting it and I'm about to whip it against the wall).
I've been using this one by Anker, charging it overnight. Takes about 2 hours to fully charge from about 30% to 100%
No issues with it yet but only have had it about 2 weeks now.

Thanks! I have about 4 older Samsung charging pucks. What's strange is that two work fine, but the other two don't charge my G7 at all. (I'm sure it has something to do with the USB cable and/or plug that I'm using).

Bear in mind that you have to use the supplied cable, along with your o.e. charger for the Anker stand. The port on the back of the stand is a micro usb, not a usb-c.

G7 will say fast charging on a 10W wireless charger but LG says the phone supports 15W for true fast charging. Belkin and a handful of others make true 15W fast wireless chargers.
Watch out for off brands as many will say 15w but are actually 10w.
Im using a mophie here and it says fast wireless charging at 10w.

Good call on this charger. I picked it up on your recommendation after seeing the price before I even owned this phone and I can confirm it works great. Anker makes solid products so the price makes it even better. Thanks!
Another vote for the Anker Charger
I've been using the Anker model A2523 wireless charger with no problems. It doesn't charge super fast, but I use it for overnight charging, so that's not a problem. While charging, the battery never goes above 30 degrees centigrade, which is 2 to 4 degrees cooler that when I was using the original LG plug in charger that came with the phone! The Anker uses a Micro USB port for power, so I also got a USB-C to Micro USB adapter, so that if I need to recharge quickly, I can just unplug the LG charging cable from the adapter which is plugged into the back of the Anker charger and plug it into the phone. I think that's the best solution until more USB-C wireless chargers are produced.

No, it just states it's charging wirelessly. It's not too fast but perfect for overnight without roasting the phone or battery.
just got the UMIDIGI Q1 , and it says fast wireless charging.
Have some others scattered around the house that is 5w, like choetech t513
I have quite a few Anker products, so when I was looking for a bedside wireless charger, I was almost sure I would end up with them. However, after researching on Amazon for about an hour, I ended up buying the Yootech Wireless Charger (the goofy company name made me think that it might be a cheap rebrand, but it's been a rock solid device). I can say for the LG G7 that this is an amazing charger (although it supports a wide range if you or someone else might want to use it with a different device; especially an older one) that comes with an impressive AC adapter (it doesn't get warm while in use, something that sometimes happens with more compact adapters). It does use MicroUSB instead of USB-C and maxes out at 10W instead of 15W, however it tops up my phone from 20 - 30% to 100% in less than two hours so it's a keeper for me and allows me to save my included charger specifically for travel.
I got the BlitzWolf BW-FWC4 from Amazon for €15. Fast wireless charging thanks to QI-EPP compatibility. Works flawlessly through my Voia case. Charges almost as fast as wired. I'm using the original wall charger to power it.
