Sense version can be accessed from honescreen (long press and press sense home settings)

I think you're checking your Sense version in the wrong place. Try finding your Sense version in Settings -> Info -> Software Information

that's the sense home version....not your version of the sense based rom .-.

you could also have googled your software version which is 4.27.206.4 and see that it's Nougat rom with Sense 8?

That only applies to the unmodified stock rom of that firmware version. Sense isn't part of the system, anymore, since android 5 and therefore independent from the firmware. It's nothing more than an app that you can download via the play store (aka Sense home). If you update the app via the play store (it's possible on android 6 with an xposed module) or with modified versions of it (e.g. the one from the OP or the one from this thread) then you can actually use android 6/7 with Sense 9 on this phone. Therefore, looking at the settings of the sense home app is the correct way of finding out your sense (home) version and not looking at settings>about. (And that's actually the reason why the sense version isn't listed in settings>about, anymore.)

Ah that explains a lot. I just went back to stock yesterday and upgraded to Nougat so I was used to the Sense version being part of the rom and therefore be listed under settings -> about -> software info, my bad!

FYI I was not whining.
I was Just trying to help and correct those trying to correct me, which was wrong as I pointed out, and has now been confirmed by the forum moderator.
No harm done, its all good, nothing to get excited about, is it.

is this compatible with viper rom?

I don't think that's going to be enough depending on which ROM you're going to install this to because HTC uses their own framework for their apps which isn't available on AOSP / non-Sense ROMs.
Also, even for Sense 1.5 ROMs the framework is incompatible between releases. From what I understand, there's no guarantee HTC App X from ROM 1.73.y is compatible with ROM version 1.73.y+1. Let alone between major android releases (1.5 versus 2.1).
I'd also like to see 2.1 Peep on 1.5 and same goes for the HTC Clock Widget, Calendar Widget (with Agenda plx?) and the Sync Now Widget.
Can anyone port them so they will work under 1.5?

I don't think this is going to happen, mainly because of very stable 2.1. ROMs available ... the solution is clear - upgrade

Sorry to say this but all available 2.1 ROMS suck.
I tried BeHero and Villain both for about 2 days each and there are so many little things which are annoying as hell. Do I really need to list them? I did this in the relevant threads but nothing happened - tbh I don't really blame anyone.
And even though both feel faster then MoDaCo 3.1 (based on 1.5) at first, they are laggy in many cases - mostly after a few hours of use.
I'm nearly 100% happy with 1.5 except those 2 really nice widgets and the bluetooth file transfer but those things are not a reason to upgrade to an unstable/battery draining/laggy ROM which - in my case - isn't fully translated into my native language.
So I really just want those 2 widgets. Nothing more.
thanks guys, so i guess it's not possible. Just like the rest, i went back to 1.5 but really want the new HTC Peep.
Will just wait for the official or a better ROM.

HTC One XT (S720t / T-SCDMA) - RUU, Custom ROM, Radio Stack

I have rooted my HTC One XT (S720t) to be at least allowed to do something with my device. China Mobile delivers the device totally locked up and hardly allows any useful software. Successfully installed Google market app but the ROM seems to have a feature to make sure it cannot be used (always crashed right after opening, others have also reported the same).
Unfortunately my company is bound to China Mobile so I was unable to buy a standard S720e if I want to enjoy 3G.
Rooting and and installing custom ROM was quite smooth and easy but it seems that the flashing the Android Revolution HD ROM has messed up my radio stack/baseband (at least within Android; bootloader still states the old correct radio stack).
I never had problems with the radio stack so I am quite new to this topic and have the following questions:
1. Do I have a problem or not?
2. I made a backup before flashing, will this also bring the radio stack back to normal? If yes, could I extract it from the backup and flash it manually via fastboot (device is rooted but S-ON)?
3. If 1 is not possible, can I flash the backup and then somehow dump the radio stack image?
4. Does anyone know where to get the shipped ROM for this device? S720t seems to be a very rare device and I cannot find anything. Have asked HTC but not sure if they will provide it to me to fix my device.
5. Does anyone know how to get this rubbbish China Mobile parallel market out of this phone and run the standard market (that would be already enough for me - I need Skype for my work). Full control for sure is always nicer.
Thanks for any comments...

Thanks, could you let me know why it will not work? Are the devices physically so different?
Have installed the ROM and everything looks fine besides the radio stack under Android stated as unknown. Bootloader states still the China Mobile radio stack (any idea how to backup this one so that I can flash back in case it is messed up?).
<Update>: Everything on the device works normally (also Wifi) BUT mobile is completely dead. After using recovery the old system is back but baseband still unknown and mobile network dead. So got myself a tablet for couch surfing now...

Finally managed to find the stock ROM, use the way described in the forum to get back to stock ROM and now everything is working again. Thanks, guys.
Main problem is, that the stock ROM phone is completely useless without apps. None of the apps that I have on my other phone are featured in the Chinese parallel market. No airline apps, no newsreaders, nothing. Just useless cute games and some standard apps and even the market application is in Chinese only.
A mighty phone - and nothing to do with it except listening to music, playing games and chatting. I am wondering how HTC can allow totally crippled phones like the S720t to be marketed. Crippled and no option to break out of the jail. Phone will go back to the shop tomorrow, even my Incredible S beats the S720t easily. This phone is a living brick.
i do have the same problem, could you help me, where you found stock kernel?
Sorry for the late reply, have been travelling...
I have downloaded a ROM from some Chinese filehosting websites (had to register first) and then got the file. Did a google check and cannot find my orginal DL-link anymore. Try to look for variations of ROM_ENDEAVOR_TD_ICS_40_HTCCN_CHS_CMCC_1.zip Can also upload the file somewhere; PM me how and then the phone can be brought back to original status again (check the stickies).
So far found no way to flash custom ROM (did not check for some weeks now). Easy solution to have access to software at least is to unlock the device and install the google app set manually, that will bring up the google market and that already made me happy.

I am in the same boat, i found this : http://bbs.gfan.com/mobile/android-4912638-1-1.html?extra=page%3D1%26amp%3Bfilter%3Dtype%26amp%3Btypeid%3D483
I initially tried to flash ARHD but it would not boot (bad boot.img i think), the ROM above works fine for now.
It is rooted and has Google Play.
If you flashed a wrong boot.img, that rom as the correct boot.img in the zip so you can extract and flash it.
Only downside is that it is slightly older (android 4.0.4, sense 4.0).
I will look for updates later as i just got the phone yesterday i haven't had time to properly look around.

Oh, thanks. That is actually the first custom ROM that I have seen.
Can you confirm that the radio stack is working/compatible?
I have Google Play installed now, just need to download the package and unzip it locally - but I would like to get rid off all this China Mobile rubbish and especially of their own app shop because it interferes with Google Play.
Might try that version later by myself (btw my original phone only came with Android 4.04. and Sense 4.0).

Yes all works fine and all the chinese crap is not there. only a Chinese webbrowser, but you can remove it and install what you want.
just before I installed the Rom I had the OTA which updates sense and the os, ARHD also has the updated software, but hopefully the guy will update the Rom soon .

This I understand but can't we just flash it with a different ROM from a different carrier? say UK ROM?
didnt he say he is running ARHD in the OP?
i didn't know this was released in china
is it confusing with all these different naming and devices for china?

Yes but he mentioned there was a problem with the radio stack/baseband therefore couldn't use his mobile.
From what I understand, the hardware for HTC One X and HTC One XT are pretty much the same. The only difference is the custom OS from each carrier.
So my question is, can I install any 1 of the custom ROMs from here for the One X on the One XT?
Any help would be great.
I think the HTC One XT uses another kind of mobile technology like SCDMA. Therefore, most ROMs here would work, but mobile wouldn't.

From what I understand, SCDMA is the Chinese variant of CDMA, and only works on China Mobile. You would have no luck trying to find a ROM here that supports SCDMA so try going on xda.cn

Many thanks, works brilliantly. One minor tweak I would suggest is removing the 10 count self destruct on bad pin/patterns. It's the only thing I changed other than removing some unwanted apps.

Not sure you can. Unless a developer can edit the system UI in some way. It's still there even if you use a different launcher.
Turn off developer options, it'll disappear.
