Was curious if anyone has ever seen this. Here's what happened... Got a message for a software update. After the update downloaded it told me the phone was about to restart; the normal process for an update. Just before the restart, I got a message saying the Sim card was removed. Behind the Sim card message I could see the usual "Android is updating" message that comes with an update. But the Sim card message forced me to restart the phone. After restart I went back into settings and selected Software Update and this is what I get. I've never seen this, and it doesn't seem right. After an update, I usually get "Software is up to Date."
The phone seems to be working fine, though. Anyone have any ideas?

I get this message that pops up at the bottom and disappears. It says "You set to use Wifi only, but Wifi is not connected".
Anyone know how to get rid of this? I don't remember changing any settings. It doesn't affect the way I use the phone but it's really annoying because it pops up frequently. I notice it when I go back to the homescreen. Thanks in advance.
Check to see which apps are running in the background when the message pops up and then look in the settings of each app. Looks like one is trying to update, it could be anything but I've never seen a message like that.

I used to get that a lot on my EVO 4G. Somewhere along the line you may have been conected to WiFi and started an App for the first time and accidentally clicked a popup asking to always use Wifi. For me it was the NetFlix App. Then I did it again a few weeks later with the YouTube App. Just go into the settings of any apps that you commonly use on WiFi, I don't think there are too many that even give you this option...
yea.. simple.. an app is trying to use wifi.. think hard! you'll figure out which one it is and fix it lol
Just had something popped up that showed a Shield like icon. When I pulled down notifications it said Security Update. Clicking on it showed the following screen:

Update:
This has happened in the past to other Samsung devices like the S4... still looking into it.
Update2:
Don't see anything directly related to the Note 3. It would appear that Samsung send out a Security Update and the phone which is set (by default) to look for them, presented it to me. Would be nice if it said what the Security update was/is other than just giving a number 0012
It's just the version number of the SELinux policy in effect. Expect to see a lot of these updates, as with desktop linux.
(I could do a diff to see what rules were relaxed / strengthened / added / etc, but I just don't care )

I also received a similar update on my Note 3 SM-N9005
Any way to get these insanitys removed? I used notifications off although it still shows up. Maybe it is cool to uninstall with titanium backup =)

I get this message, with the same version number, every time I open HTC sync manager (all 4 times, I just installed it for the first time a couple of hours ago)
The first time, I ran the update and it definitely flashed something to my phone. (was in recovery mode flashing for a few minutes).
After it booted back up, the phone behaved sluggish as typical with a software update, but when I went to settings, there were no version changes of Android or of the firmware version. So far I can't find anything different, but there was a lengthy download and flashing process.
Also, I checked for updates via the phone settings yesterday and also today as soon as I saw the upgrade notification, and it reported no updates available.
(unfortunately, I didn't think to check appdata\local\temp until it was done, and there was nothing in there that would have been the size to match the lengthy download time at 5MB/s)
Anyone else seen this or have any thoughts?
My initial thinking is that the HTC Sync manager software is a p.o.s., but it's the only way I've been able to transfer files to/from the phone on either Windows 10 or Linux Mint 17. (Thanks HTC )
I have this same update. I tried once and got stuck on a HTC flash screen. Havent tried since as im trying to root the device. not download anymore of verizons security scams.
Well as the tittle says it when i go to System Update in the Settings app i get a message that T Mobile has provided an update for my phone so my LG G4 will be getting Marshmallow and in a few hours it will automatically start to download. Since i got the message on a G3 i dont have a clue what to do. Was it just a typo (which i seriously doubt) or what? It's a friends phone, i don't have it on me so i cant provide an exact message. The phone is completely stock, t mobile branded LG G3 (D85120g).
Thanks in advance!
I'm leaving this conclusion here in case anyone else runs into this problem. I took the plunge and ended up just installing the OTA. The G4 part of the message i guess was just a typo after all since everything went smoothly and phone functions perfectly normal after the update. Cheers
Thanks Ajax1337. Got the same message on my T-Mobile LG G3 and was very perplexed.
Typo.
I got the same thing and the funny thing is that I work for Metro PCS. So when I bought this up they're a little confused about this, no matter everything looks normal.

Hello friends...
I need a little help...
I have the A5 (2017) with 64 gb of internal memory, from Vivo carrier (Brazil).
My phone arrived with version 6.01 of Android and I upgraded it to Nougat via Odin without any problem, everything works perfectly! I only notice that in some places of the telephone where the number of my telephone line should be shown, nothing is shown, as can be seen in the pictures below:

}
Does this little problem, that does not interfere in anything in the operation of the phone can be error:
- From the phone;
- From rom (downloaded from Samobile);
- From the SIM card
Additonal info: not rooted
Cheers

Thanks Peter!
I think it may be some problem or configuration of Sim Card.
I just put the Sim card from my wife's phone and put it in my phone and the number was correctly identified, both in slot 1 and in slot 2 ...
I'll check with my carrier to see if they can help with this.
