Hi guys. My Mi 5s Plus has a fake rom MIUI 8.0.8.0.0 Global Stable. I discovered that such version doesn't really excit. So my question is what should I do to have the official global stable version and have OTA updates, should I just download it from Xiaomi's website and install it or will I still don't have OTA updates?
Also, does sound come out from the both sides of the grill on the bottom or only from the right one on your Mi 5s Plus?
Thanks and happy new year to everyone
Download Rom from Official site, put it on Your Phone to folder "downloaded_rom", if U dont have it just create it and use updater in settings, it should work

Will try. Thanks
Hi pero93,
Would you please share result later, whether success or any issue.
Thanks
That worked for me without any issues. About the sound speaker - 5s only has one. The holes on the left are for the mic.
Same workaround on Mi5S?
Hi,
is that same procedure applicable for the 5S as well?

Hi,
Unfortunately, not working for me.
I think this needs the updater to have the 3 dots in the upper right corner to select the updater file.
I do not have those 3 dots
Any other suggestion ?
Regards.
[EDIT : the three dots disappeared because I switched DPI... I restored DPI and they came back. Did as was said here and... there I go : official ROM now ]
Hello
First I'd like to apologize if I made thread at the wrong place
A few days ago I tried some custom ROM base on Pie like RR , Arrow, Liquid Remix, MIUI.eu, etc. (I can't remember exactly all of them.)
And then I went back to Oreo stock ROM. But so weird the SIM card now swap from original. (SIM 1 become SIM 2 & SIM 2 become SIM 1.)
I already tried many ways but still no luck until now. (Flash Pie again & downgrade to oreo.)
This also happened to my Mi A2 Lite before & already solved by replace modem.img file in Oreo with same file from Pie when flashing.
Unfortunatelly the method from Mi A2 Lite can't be applied here cause sakura doesn't have modem.img file.
Would be very appreciate If anyone know how to solve this & willing to share here.
Thanks a lot

You have flashed Pie version eu.
That problem wont happen with AOSP based roms like RR, LOS, Viper etc.
Many people lost their VoLTE also. As of now there is no solution(As far as i know). You have to stick with Pie build itself. If you fixed it, let us know.

Even if I flash back again to Pie (MIUI.eu, RR, LOS, also Mi-globe, etc) the problem still exist.
I have tried with other SIM card as well. But nothing fix.
So I guess must wait for next update to get fix. Thanks for the answer.

I'll still stick with android oreo 8.1 till now. If I flash miui android pie 9.0 (maybe u mean android 9 ? ) , I will activate ARB which I avoid it. So I can keep the getvar anti version null.
I already tried to flash the latest firmware from yshalsager but nothing has change. The problem is still exist.
You can try & let me know the result. Good luck.

Nope, don't flash miui9.

SOLVED !!!: My Redmi Note 8 Pro is the Global Version, can I block the bootloader without brick risk after flashing the Indonesian ROM?
Some moderator could support me to move the thread to Redmi Note 8 Pro. Thank you
Edit: Thanks @strongst
I confirm that it is possible to close the bootloader after flashing the Indonesian ROM on a Redmi Note 8 Pro Global. To do this, use the MiFlash application and check the "clean all" option. Do not check the option "clean everything and block" in case there is a problem during or after the fhashing.
After I could confirm the ROM was multilingual and that everything worked fine (wifi, data, bluetooth, nfc, spearkers, etc.), I closed the bootloader, put my device in "fastboot" mode and executed the command "fastboot oem lock ".
Before closing the bootloader I didn't see the Netflix application in the Google Play store, after closing the bootloader there was no problem.

They would really be the same steps for any Xiaomi team, so you just need to search the threads of some model. The only variant would be the ROM you need to download, which in this case It would be for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
Follow the steps in the following link, everything is detailed, it will be good if you are a beginner. regards

Glad it worked for you! :good:
You probably were on a Global flavor of the phone aside from it having a Global Rom.
However I want to stress for others who may be reading this, that if I am not mistaking, based on posts I have read, if your device HW is Chinese flavor, it is absolutely not recommended to relock bootloader after flashing anything as it WILL result into bricking your device.
Edit:
That's exactly what's being said on the tutorial you provided above and that's where I had read about it actually
Here is the part in question.
Edit 2:
DO NOT RE-Lock the Bootloader if you change from China ROM to Global ROM in China phone. Re-Locking will BRICK your phone. Select only "Clean All" option before flashing.

It is right. I also add that you should not lock bootloader, if you have a Global HW and install a Chinese ROM, although hey, I don't know who would do that.

you have to lock in fastboot mode and make sure your MIUI version is the same as the device. for example your device base version is India and you have to flash it with the Indian version to lock the bootloader and make sure it's correct so it doesn't happen hard brick
