Vibration intensity is too high and I can't change it? - LineageOS Questions & Answers

I just installed LineageOS 14.1 on my Galaxy S5 Plus, however the vibration of unlocking screen, tapping "Recent Apps" and "Back" buttons, notifications, typing... all have a strong vibration strength...
I can't search the settings for "Vibration intensity" and it gives a result, but when I click on it, I get send to the page of "Other sounds" but without any "Vibration intensity" setting...
I can't find vibration settings in rooted device apps.
How do I fix this?

This is not new to many different devices that users are also experiencing.
The following threads does cover this issue and other options were provided in achieving it. Please keep in mind that the solution covering the same issue though, with other devices, may still apply to your device as well.

@Dycoone Another option is using “Kernel Adiutor (ROOT)” app. Steps at https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/..._os_151_there_is_no_option_to_change/e5kwtiw/

Yes just look in settings under sound. Also when you long press on home screen.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
On your phone to go: Menu, Settings, Personalize (or hit the Personalize button from the home screen).
At the bottom, where it says "Personalize Sound", hit "Notification Sound"
On this menu you can set the sounds for the following notifications:
Default Notification
Message
Calendar
Email
Hope that helps.

Browser and Email screen dim??

Hey guys, glad to join the Note 2 family
I'm using the Rogers SGH-i317M model and one major pet peeve so far is that when I launch the stock browser or the email app, the screen automatically dims. My auto brightness is disabled and I have my screen brightness set at roughly 30%. As soon as I open up the stock browser or email, the screen dims down to minimum brightness. Very annoying. Is this a known issue or is my phone defective.
Phone is on stock Rogers rom and rooted using CF-Root.
Thanks for your help.
The stock browser has its on screen dimming setting. Just hit menu with the browser ooen and sgut if off.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317
the browser has its own brightness settings in its own app settings. I don't use the email app but I'm going to assume the same so check it
Yes, the browser does have its own brightness setting but it also affects the general brightness. When I increase the browser brightness, the phone's brightness ends up at 100%. No brightness setting for email app.
Agreed
Yeah, what's the deal. The browser is significantly darker than other apps, home screens etc.
I've not noticed email, but then i only use gmail, and maybe that's not affected?
I generally use 'auto' bright. but when i turn the stock browser on sometimes it's way too dim to see. If i change the 'browser' settings, it also affects everything else.

From your Homescreen, touch "Menu | Settings" and then long-press on "Power Saving Mode". Try unchecking the third option and see if that changes things for you. Fairly certain page 134 of the manual said that setting affects both Browser and Email, even though the Help dialog on the phone only uses the vague term "internet".
(Yes. I read the manual. I'm not proud, but the Note 2 has some amazing things and I didn't want to miss any. )

[Q] annoying notification [nokia xl]

Hello
I didn't manage to find an answer to my issue anywhere in the internet...
I have this annoying notification that always appears on my screen regarding some downloads that failed. It says "3 haven't finished", mentioning which files failed downloading. I went to downloads and also using file explorer trying to find incompleted dowloads, but nothing. It's not a big issue, I just want to keep my screen clean.
If the notification is in the notification panel>
Long press on that notification>
Click on manage app>
It takes you to app setting of that particular app>
Tick on the shhow notification and confirm.>
It should solve the problem.
Press thanks if it helped

the notification is on the main screen or idk how to say it, the screen that appears when you click the side power button, where all the notifcations appear for nokia x/x2/xl and such. I can't turn off in the app settings since it's download related notification and have no idea where to go.
I think you are saying the notification is in the slide to unlock lockscreen. Could you tell me what the notification says or probably post a screenshot too.

Quick way turn on/off AOD?

I like AOD and i have it on as default. However, when I'm at work I don't need to have it on since I can see my notifications & calls from the computer (using Join extensions & app). I tried messing around with Tasker but unable to accomplish anything so far. Do you guys know any quick way to turn on/off AOD without having to go into the display settings?
Edit - Found an app that let me toggles AOD
App is called "Tiles". There's a tile in the app called "Always On", switch it on, then run this adb command to allow the app make secure setting changes: adb shell pm grant com/rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Link to app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles
One workaround. Pull town quick tiles, touch menu (gear to right of date), then in search box type "ambient", that will let you choose "Battery > Ambient Display". It takes long steps the first time. Next time just pull down tiles, touch gear, touch search bar, touch "ambient" (that stays in list), touch home button. It seems the 2XL keeps the last five searches.
There may be a better way, but I have not found it yet. Been trying to do it with Tasker and maybe a plugin, but nothing yet.

I have Tiles, granted permission through ADB, and the Ambient Display toggle does nothing.
Edit: It turns on and off the "New notification - wake screen when you receive notifications" setting. Not the Always On setting..
Edit 2: You need to use the Always On tile and not Ambient Display. Works well!

If you could, please provide a link to "Tiles". I tried searching for it in the Play Store and most of the hits are games.
I'm trying to find a solution to my phone screen turning off when it's plugged in and a call comes in. Maybe this is the fix I've been looking for.

Here you go: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles
You can also squeeze your phone/activate assistant and say "turn always on display off"
Tasker does work, try the "custom setting" option.

Question Notification Hell. Direction Anyone?

Hello
I've been having Notifications pop up relentlessly (full greyed out page) regardless if I have any notifications! Like every 1-2 Min. I've scrutinized settings to solve it.
Any corrective direction would be appreciated.
Same here with a few specific notifications. I'm hoping it's a bug they will fix in a future update.
I guess you can't disable System notifications. Seems to be the source.
Only notification I was getting that was annoying was the T-mobile Diagnostics one, found a way to uncheck that in the T-mobile app.
Mine seems to be related to google home and it finding speakers on the network.
OK
Found a setting in gestures I believe that whenever I swiped up on the side button, it triggered Notifications.
Find it! Uncheck it!
