I was wondering if there was any developers out there working on a stock-based ROM which was UX 6.0 for our G3. Around this time last year Fulmics 5.0 released which was based on UX 5.0 and it became hugely popular but now its developement has ceased and it would be great if someone else bought out a new ROM to make our G3 feel fresh again.
If there is no one working on it, I would like to know if there is any particular reason why it wouldn't work - such as the aspect ratio.

No. And it is simple. UX 6 is for android 7. There are many changes, framework stuff. It is not compatible with out LG G3 still in android 6. That was already discussed in the Fulmics thread.

But the G2 did get a UX 5.0 themed ROM and that was running on lollipop.

But how come some of the older Samsung Galaxy phones still get new Touchwiz based roms? Surely the latest version of Touchwiz is based on Nougat api

we'll have 4.2 in the next 3 months.too late, since key lime pie is almost on it's way.
but i rather have cm 10.1 fully working, than a bloated and tweaked byblg 4.2

Why would anyone answer this without any source...
The REAL answer is not Yes or No, it's juste "unkown" until LG release a statement saying anything...

When LG release a firmware, they release a firmware, not just an android update.
Try installing CM10.1 after flashing LG 4.1.2 firmware and you ll see a big difference on battery consumption.
I get 6h of web browsing instead of 4h with the same CM10.1 on the same phone... only thing that changed is the firmware that have been flashed before.
Personnaly I dont think LG will release a 4.2, but I would take it as a firmware update anytime if it gives me another 1.5x battery
I let myself be surprised by LG.
Speculate that, yes or no, brings nothing
In any case, I am very satisfied with the G

yeah, I saw that the battery of every 4.2.2 custom rom is not as good as 4.1.2 stock rom
New to lg, but on samsung, CM is way better than TW and that's a fact.Unfortunatelly lg doesn't have all the support samsung has.It will take some time, but,in the end, CM will be better than lg fw.
LG patches pure vanilla with Gesture UI and adds specific apps(like q-slide)..how do you call that?
All manufacturers do it(samsung with TW, HTC with sense and motorola with motoblur).

My point is : install lg latest firmware before installing CM and you ll see a big difference IN CM
CM and the others are good options for those who don't like LG UI. But I have never been a fan of CM on any of my phones cause it's never perfect!

maybe now,lg roms are better, because cm is still young for our phones.but, with a proper dev team,cm will wipe off lg roms.
imagine, pure vanilla running on g.but there is a long way.unfortunately,lg does not have 5he same support community like samsung

Maybe but even on GNEX, CM was nowhere as stable as stock or AOSP.

I think LG will release android 5 instead of 4.2, because our G have strong hardware. Now we just pray for it!
lol, KLP will be released later this year.until then, we will have 4.2
My source told me 4.2.2 will be available at the end of may, begining of june. But it's possible to have it earlier.

I´d just be glad for a update with stuff from G Pro, but 4.2.2 and KLP sounds nice also ^^
Sorry if this an obvious question, but I'd really like to know if I'd have to root/unlock it to flash some more recent Android version.
Speaking of which, how difficult is it to flash/unroot?
At least put an effort into researching.

Lmao post with no answer.. put some effort its just 2-3 keys "no" then "yes" WOOT!
No man not yet. They do have plans to.
It's true that the answer is a simple no. But I had to learn the hard way when I first jumped into this site a few years ago that people do not like to be asked questions that are easy to answer. You don't even have to look on this website. Simply look at the spec sheet on LG's website and you will see that it comes with 4.2 .2. There is already a rootkit out for the device but no roms at this time. I honestly don't think you need a newer version at this time. 4.2 .2 jelly bean does everything you need in my opinion. Otherwise get a Nexus device. I have a Nexus 4 running Kit Kat Paranoid Android and Franco kernel and I couldn't be happier. But when it comes to my tablet I just wanted for basic consumption and a stock Android is perfectly fine. Just my opinion.

What is it that you are going to gain from updating to 4.3? The bigger number? There is a lot more that can be improved in the ROM than going to 4.3

would like Android 4.3 or later to enable opengl es 3.0 support for games. Hopefully lg comes out with an update soon.
i would like to see cyanogen mod 11 or pac rom much more than official updates of LG

Yeah, I'd say sometime during November or December, you should see CM12 with Android L 5.0 roms popping out in the forums just like Kitkat last year that came out along with the Nexus 5 at the end of October

Good to hear. I cannot wait to try them. I'm kind of bummed that Xposed doesn't support ART yet but hopefully it will soon after Android L is released but who knows.

Cloudy G3 is based on the stock LG ROM. Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, I believe the OP is asking about a stock Android ROM - meaning AOSP.
Devs are working hard to get Cyanogenmod / AOSP as stable as possible, but like always there will never be an ETA. We were told they would be working on the issues this week, so you can expect to see some things happening over at the TMO Orig Dev / CM thread. THANKS
ROM posts with the work "when" in them dont get much attention round here.
Do a search and be paitent
I have only seen the question once or twice so far. When will "x" rom update to 5.1?
So first off 5.1 source has dropped and there are improvements or 5.x. Second while it is still called lollipop Google could have given it a ndw name. This is not like the earlier updates 5.0.1 or 5.0.2. This is a big release and will screwup current custom roms.
Device and kernel sources will need to updated. Although it wont be as bad as the initial lollipop changes. The big downside is that custom roms will once again be starting from scratch. So features will be lacking.
Omni rom has 5.1 pretty much ready to go but the note 2 is not supported. Also Omni rom is pretty much pure aosp with very little added. While our other main devs (LS, BrokenOs, Cyanogenmod, CyanideL) will be working hard to bring us 5.1. Expect a few weeks minimal before the first betas/testers start showing up. Then in a few months we should be back to where we are now.
If I was Google I would have just held off on 5.0 a few more months. Then devs would not have wasted all that time working on source just to do it over again a few months later.

Not supported because no one is working on it or is there something that makes it not possible?
There are no devs working on omni for the l900.

dyin for a 5.1 TW rom for the L900 and kernels that support 4.4.x and 5.x

I think this pretty much shows exactly how much Google really cares about 3rd-party devs (in other words, all non-Nexus devices). Perfect example is the Kitkat external SD card debacle. What a coincidence that Nexus devices don't have external SD cards.
