Dual Sim ringtones - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I'm using the zenfone 2 Z00A (dual sim) and I updated from CM13 to lineage and discovered that the dual sim ringtones feature wasn't there anymore :crying:
Does anyone know if this feature is planned in a near future ?
thanks

I am having the same headache.
M using 14.1-20170707-Nightly-x2 for Le Max 2 (a dual-sim model). Found that Lineage OS (at least this version) does not support dual sim ringtones customization. 1 configuration in Sound settings is sharing with both sim's.
Tried 2 dual-ringtones app in play store, none of them works as they claim. Wonder if any may share a solution here? Need this desperately.
Thanks.

Same here on Redmi 3 and LOS 14.1
its really important feature for me to know right away which part of my life is calling.

So one year later with LineagoOS Oreo (and apparently also Nougat) and we still don't have dual sim ringtone support? Looking through the XDA forums, it seems thee are multiple unanswered threads across the board of phones and also across different operating systems, not just Lineage, with the same problem.
Can't someone at least make an Xposed module or a Root app for a dual sim ringtone workaround? Didn't find any of those either on FDroid or the Play store or the Xposed store. There are a couple of non root apps on the pay store which are unreliable at best.
Thanks to anyone for any insight or status or acknowledgement or something

I totally agree.
This is a useful feature, why is it simply left out? I feel tempted to switch back to my stock OS (Which basically is a Vanilla Android + root anyway)
Runng an Aquaris X Pro 128

Does anyone know if there is a magisk module for dual sim ringing?

We are in 2020, and this functionality which existed in the previous versions and worked perfectly is still not implemented ??? How is it possible ?
edit: this app (full version 1.4) works perfectly meanwhile => https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/dualsimringer-t3890457

Hi! The thread for the mentioned app has been closed and download links have been removed. I wonder why? Is there an alternative that works on a Pixel 4a?

Galaxy Note 2 N7102 Dual Sim - Rom, Google access, and International use

Hi All,
In parallel of more than 60 pages of questions, issues raised, solutions brought, and new issues raised, I'm getting confused on how I can get my google functions (maps, gmail, play, etc.) on my freshly purchased Chinese N7102, without bringing in new issues (no more camera, 2nd sim slot not usable, etc.).
Therefore I'd like to call for our N7102 experts to make an update & summary of the situation, so that everybody could see here in a few pages what is feasible, what is not. Thanks in advance for your precious answers !
The different questions I have in mind would be:
- Any perfect solution to get a fully running N7102, with google services, with dual sim cards, and without side effect and major loss (e.g. no more camera, no persisting reboot issue) ? If so, which Rom is doing that?
- Otherwise, which Rom is the more stable, and what are the negative side effects of this Rom? Can the N7100 Roms be used, without losing any function, especially dual sim cards?
- For non expert, as there are several parameters in flashing a Rom, can you recall the exact procedure to follow in order to flash ? Also, does it need Root?
Thanks a lot,
Snokoflan
///
Hopefully someone could have a rom for it.
Thanks

would love some response to this thread too please! Thanks!
Please help us
I'm really interested in this thread. I live in Italy and I'd like to know what I have to do to install Italian language on my note2 n7102, how I can use play store and all the others apps, without loosing the dual sim function. Which rom do I need to install? Is there someone that can explain the right procedure, starting from where to download rom and all the others apps that can be installed on the phone? Thanks in advance for your help.
Ok so even if I too am interested in the answers to these questions, there is no response till now.

How to play 2 videos / games in splitscreen simultaneously?

I have been searching for this all this time but still can't find ways to do it. Is this still possible? I need help! Please enlighten me. I'm running Stock Android P v9.03 non-rooted. Hoping for good answers. Thank you!
Bump
Depends if the app supports it. If not, there's a developer setting to force resizing of apps. But the current implementation of split screen doesn't allow them to run simultaneous, meaning one game will freeze while you interact with the other. Apparently this isn't the case for Xiaomi devices(?), I've seen someone run 2 instances of Fate Grand Order (the NA and JP version respectively) on their Pocophone F1, but it doesn't seem to work on any other non-xiaomi device.
Apparently android q will bring this feature

New 7T owner, coming from Samsung, any tips?

I just ordered a OP 7T (T-Mobile version), and while I'm not new to OnePlus (my wife has a 6T), it's *my* first OP device. I come from using Samsung devices for a few years (S6 Plus, 7, now a 9). I've read much about the 7T, read and viewed many reviews, but I'd like to know what tips from daily users I should have in mind.
Thanks!
Welcome to the smoothness. Make sure you enable 90hz from settings as soon as you get the phone in hand if it's not turned on. It doesn't affect the battery that much. So no need to worry about that.
And if you are familiar with bootloader unlocking and rooting and wanna try that i should say wait for the TWRP recovery to come. Then this 7t section would be flooded with popular custom roms; hopefully.

So far so good! Still setting up and adjusting everything to my liking. The speedy response from this phone is awesome.
This phone is awful. I hope you have better luck than I did.

I sure hope so. My wife's 6T has been a great phone so far, and I expect the 7T to serve well.
May I ask which issues did you encounter? And were you able to solve them?
I came from a Galaxy S9 to the 7t in November. I need dual SIM capability so I do not have to carry two devices. I use a TMO SIM and an AT&T SIM and need band 71 support. Generally, Android devices sold in the US do not support dual SIMs, and dual SIM devices which can be purchased internationally do not support many US bands.
The device was easy to set up, works very well, and I have not had any of the issues others have reported. VOLTE & Wi-Fi calling work well on TMO but not AT&T, but that's an AT&T issue and not the problem of One Plus. I currently run the Open Beta 2 build. I bought the North American version from One Plus directly which supports all current US TMO & ATT bands. Both providers work well in this phone and I am very happy with the device overall.
I wear a Galaxy watch, and integration works just as well as it did with my Galaxy phone.

Thanks for your feedback! I also found the 7T easy to set up, as I did with my wife's 6T. I manually configured Nova Launcher to avoid cross-brand backup/restore issues, and so far no issues there also. I did notice some widgets are no longer available, but I found alternatives. All apps are working as intended.
You mentioned you are running the Open Beta Build 2. Does OnePlus allow to easily fall back to the current release build if needed or wanted? I use the T-Mobile version of the 7T if it matters. Also, how is the Beta working? I have never used beta OS versions on my previous devices (never could register in a timely way with the S9), and am curious how OP hangles this.

The Open Beta 2 works well for me. I like it. Good thing, because if I were to go back to stable I would need to wipe my phone, which is not something that is very easy to do. The 7t is a good phone. I'm not sure what the one poster's issue is, but it's likely a one off or an operator's issue.
Open Beta 3 is more stable than Stable 10.0.9, based on my experience and usage.
I did a few things when I got my 7T:
1. Unlock Bootloader, install Magisk to get root.
2. Install Nacho Notch, which makes the status bar all black, all the time and it's really nice to see the icons up there but nothing else.
3. Install my 3rd party gesture app, Vivid N.G. This allows me to use bottom gestures with massive customization. And no stupid "swipe from side" back gesture. Who thought that would be a good idea?
4. Replace launcher with Nova.
5. Install Swift Backup and restore all my apps from old phone.
6. Install and configure AdAway to block ads on a system-level.
7. Install Substratum and theme Oxygen with Liv Dark theme.
8. Replace OnePlus dialer with Google dialer (using Magisk module).
9. Install GCam and Magisk module for enabling auxiliary cameras. This provides much better photos over the stock OnePlus camera app!
I'm planning to switch to OmniROM soon since I just can't stand OxygenOS. Not that it's a bad OS by any means, just that I prefer AOSP.

You just brought me back in time to when I had my Galaxy S4, that's when I heavily got into rooting, modding, tinkering with kernels, alternative OS builds, etc.
Of all your mods/steps, at least I installed Nova Launcher, been using it for many years now.

Haha, yeah. I just have a lot of little preferences that are easily obtainable with the above steps. just personal preference, I guess!

I gave not gotten this working on T-Mobile yet. With any dialer, including stock.
I'm not even sure if Visual Voicemail works with the T-Mobile variant either. I think they just want you to use their ****ty app for VVM.

Post PIE Upgrade

Hi Guys,
finally i had time to upgrade from Stock OREO to Stock PIE.
I did the Backup with LG Bridge and its really weird that all lags were gone
On OREO i always used whiskeyomega´s sound mods, which, as i read, isnt working on PIE anymore.
So i followed this Thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/themes/magisk-official-stock-android-pie-t3971617) and added CineShot and LG Equalizer Magisk Module and Magisk_LGV30_AlO_Optimization_v9.4_DualSpeaker.zip
The only thing i realise after reboot, that HIM is always on with Headphones and i can see weather animations (have seen just sunshine, cause this was the weather today).
But i recognised, that Dual Speaker Mode seems not to work, i can hear just one Speaker.
Is there a possibility to check if everything went good? Or do you recommend ohter stuff for the best sound & performance settings?
2 other Questions to the new Stock PIE:
Do you recommend "de-bloating" somehow?
I used 2 ways back in OREA days, one was with Titanium Backup and the other App was something where i was able to stop each service.
You could get good performances, except you stopped some nessecary system-relevated services. Thats why im asking if there is a known tutorial maybe somehow or should i let it be?
PowerAmp: I use PowerAmp since years and i really love the usability and i payed for premium years ago.
In this Tread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/themes/magisk-bring-24-bit-output-aosp-pie-t3900863 ive readen, that there are settings to make, to enable 24bit sound for PowerAmp.
Should i do this or do you recommend other music software for the highest possible soundquality?
And if yes, should i deactivate above mentioned Magisk Modules?
Thank you for your help,
Regards,
Ernesto

The speaker issue is discussed in the thread you linked to. It's the xml file that it replaces. It works for some but some others (like myself) had to use another. (available in the thread) Also, it won't work with Poweramp. It uses its own process that bypasses this. So check it with the stock music app or YouTube etc.

Phone is great. But roms still need a lot of work.

My phone history. Sony arc s lt18i. Remi note 3 kenzo. Remi note 5 pro whyred. Poco m3 citrus lime.
I have flashed phone from android 2 to A11.
I feel frustrating about A11 dynamic partition and vendor problem.
I flash custom aosp based rom and pass safety test.
Still, there are 2~3 bank or shop app not working.
And double tap to wake Ng, flicker screen issue.
Back to eu miui port.
Camera NG.
Too many useless apps.
If I use magisk model debloat method to remove apps.
I can't pass some bank and shop app.
I used to delete apps directly in lt18i phone.
Use root to delete app in kenzo phone.
Magisk hide in whyred.
Then in android 10 I need to remove magisk after delete unnecessary apps. To pass some apps test.
Now I have no choices.
I just use a java app to debloat delete apps.
But app is still there.
64 gb. System suck with 14 gb. Then with apps installed only 36 gb storage you can use.
I feel my body is not clean.
I'm sick.
Yeah that's my mind problem.
You would say. You already debloat to delete apps. You can't see apps icon in your app list.
But I know my space is got eaten.
Uh...
And still I can use camera and watch web tv.
Tbh if I want a perfect rom experience. I need to go back to A10.
In A11 custom aosp rom. They don't list double tap to wake Ng, flicker screen, bank still not pass while safetynet pass are bug.
Unfortunately I need to use eu miui port to use double tap and pass bank apps.
I don't understand why whyred roms can use these bank app but citrus can't.
Vendor problem? Idk.
If you want to flash poco m3?
Plz think more about it then do it.
I still don't know how to use 48mp and macro camera to shot in eu miui.
If you flash it.
Your macro and 48mp may be gone.
Just install bsg Gcam in stock miui system.
Then do nothing.
That what I recommend. Today is 20210702. Hope it will be better
I thought there would be much more activity around this lime phone but it looks like another dud buy for me. I was hoping it would make it onto the official lineageos list but at this rate chances look slim. When I bought it it made sense as the hardware was pretty common and there was multiple phones with the same hardware so could be a popular device. Im running an unoficial version of lineageos and although it works there are a number of issues still.
It seems like it just hasnt been popular with the devs. Maybe someone will pick it up later but we can only hope.

The android limitation when google introduced Android 10 makes it a bit harder for a dev to develop
also the android phone release too fast but the source code is released after a long time.
I've Lenovo A6000 plus back in the day with custom ROM up to Android 10
