Hi guys, I want to try a MIUI rom for my oneplus 3 but after an entire afternoon of boot loops and bricks I don't know what to do.
Now I used the official resurrection remix N with firmware version 4.1.1 and the unreleased twrp recovery 3.0.4-1. Cache and data are still in ext4 file system. I'd like to hold my data to have a nandroid backup on my phone to restore if I don't like MIUI.
Data isn't encrypted. If necessary, I can install multirom but when I tried to install MIUI 8.0.2 as secondary I get the hardest brick of ever:silly:
Thanks in advance and sorry if I can't write so good in English....

At the Moment I'm on Dirty Unicorns Rom and Twrp, I want to test the New S5 Rom and in the threat they say I have to install official Kitkat first, but if I do this and I don't like it can I restore my Dirty Unicorns backup anyway? And can somebody pls give me a step by step tutorial how to install the S5 Rom and how to change back to Dirty Unicorns?
Restoring is always possible. In the case you officially flash the kk firmware and you dont like it (which I doubt ) you first have to reflash a recovery and then restore your old system. Flashing works the same as every rom/zip. Is it a whole ROM or only the S5 launcher?

SOO, I may have broken my find 7a, I was running on DU 8.2 with LVM, decided it was time to switch the the DU lolipop build, so I did everything right, backed up all my apps, did a TWRP backup. DU loli doesn't support LVM, so I flashed the remove LVM zip, rebooted recovery, tried to install DU loli and it failed, restarted recovery, tried it again and it failed, decided I would try the remove LVM zip once more and flash loli again, no go. So then I decide that I'm not brave enough for lolipop and flash the Setup LVM zip and try to restore my backup, it fails on restoring data (over and over, even on my older backups). This isn't good, because I need my phone, so I download 2 more roms, DU 8.2 and Nameless lolipop, They install in probably under a second, but then don't boot with or without LVM. So then I decide that maybe If I flash Remove lvm, Wipe everything, then use Coldbirds method twice (unsplit then split) that might reset everything. That didn't work, neither did flashing nameless with coldbirds unified, I've been trying everything I can think of, and I'm at my wits end, I don't know what I'm on coldbirds wise, it's probably my 8 or 9th time using that tool today. I have fastboot working, and recovery working (Used twrp 2.8.0.1, 2.7.1.0 entropy, 2.x.x.x coldbirds). Is there a way to just reset everything back to stock? All my partitions and such? Would flashing Oppo recovery and a color OS rom do that? Is there anything else I can try? Thanks for any responses or advice

Please Kids, learn to read, before you flash something!!!
You must flash the rom on MM Firmware and homebutton will work.

You know 3.10 is just rom version and doesn't say anything about firmware? Are you sure you flashed correct firmware too?
Corrupt homebutton is usually the case when running N rom on M firmware.
@BladeOne1
Think you're misunderstanding. When first N roms came out, the custom recoveries couldn't yet work on N kernel. To workaround this problem, u could flash rom first from M environment and flash firmware afterwards.
Anyway, since the hero's behind TWRP already have a working version there's no need for this workaround anymore.
Best way now is to flash firmware (including twrp) first and then boot to recovery to flash rom. There's absolutely no reason to flash N-based roms while on Marshmellow firmware.

!:
Backup your data, including internal sdcard
The ROM boots on old firmware and dirty flash of the ROM on top of Android M 3.5.0 works!
On the last screen on the installation, choose the firmware you plan to use. If you pick the wrong one your fingerprintscanner and home button won’t work!
After flashing the Android N ROM, TWRP won’t be able to decrypt your data, so you won’t be able to backup/restore etc. It is recommended to run the rom on unencrypted data, so TWRP is fully functionial.
Flashing the new firmware will break TWRP, you will only have a black screen. Therefore you would need to downgrade the firmware to have access to TWRP again.
A TWRP working on new firmware got released: twrp-3.0.2-7-pme-DEBUG.img
If you decide to flash the new firmware, do it AFTER the ROM, you should know why, since you read the above text.
Downgrading firmware should be safe on that base, it has been done by one of our devs several times. On earlier bases it caused a brick. Do it at your own risk, downgrading is always dangerous
When you downgrade, use a full firmware from Sneakyghosts thread. If you use a partial one, you will brick your device!
If the rom does not boot: Only ways that work are: Changing to Dev ED MID and CID and flash the Dev ED RUU/Firmware or following that instructions
Installation Instructions:
Dirty flashing, to keep your data from Android M
Stick with the old 1.9x firmware to have access to TWRP
Backup your Android M rom, best would be Viper10 3.5.0..other roms should work too though
Backup your internal sdcard
format data in TWRP to get rid of encryption
restore your Android M backup
DON’T reboot, else your device will get encrypted again
Flash the 4.x.x rom
Ensure you pick the correct firmware you want to use on the last screen on the setup, else your fingerprint scanner won’t work
Now you got an unenrypted Android N rom, with fully working TWRP

Its from Viper Rom, but its the same
Hi everyone
The problem is :
I got a note 5 ai global M1803E7SG running on miui 10.0.2.0
Yesterday i got it unlocked finally after waiting 720h
So i flashed official twrp and take a backup then tried to flash liquid remix rom ..
Ok everything gone allright until it boot up
It asks to format DATA
ok i format all my data including intenal storage
I got the rom to boot and function ok
Now i want to go back to my miui 10
Gone to twrp and restore my back up
Now am stuck with black screen and alooot of force closes like phone and dailer
What the hell is wrong with this phone ?
My anti roll back version is 4
Any suggestions ??
Sorry for bad english
try to clean install every different rom, u need to download latest stock miui rom
ok Im using latest twrp, this occurs with Lineage 17.1 and CrDroid 6.12.
Both install and run perfect, twrp backups run with no errors and restores are fine until it hits the boot animation and just sits there for ever,
thing is do the same process for stock rom and no problems
twrp backup includes boot, system and data
samsungs annoying partition encryption defeated
rooted or not makes no difference
just seems to be the Lineage base roms
Other than that, Lineage roms are fantastic,(especially for freedom from google)
I really hope someone has a fix or tell me what the hell im missing.
Regards Darin
