While I was poking around in the apk that contains all of the stock watchfaces, I noticed that the watchfaces for the other Huawei Watch editions (Ladies' version and super expensive Swarovski crystal version) were hidden there, just begging for me to enable them. So I did. The attached zip can be flashed in TWRP to enable these hidden watchfaces. There are no side effects that I've found so far, and all of the stock watchfaces that we're all used to are still there, but if anything gets messed up let me know and I'll create a flashable zip that reverts the changes. Make a backup of /system in TWRP beforehand if you want to be safe, or if you're comfortable doing it, use the file browser to make a copy of /system/priv-app/HwWatchface/HwWatchface.apk.
The attached screenshots are only a few of the faces that are enabled.
If you don't see the faces after flashing, do a factory reset and you will.
It's worth noting that I ripped this apk from my watch while running official AW 2.0, so if you're staying on 1.5, I'm not sure whether or not this will work and/or mess anything up for you.
Is it possible to enable watch faces from HW2? Watch faces there are just updated ours - with complications and new features. This AW update to our HW is not full.

The HW2 watchfaces are not included in the HW1 apk. If you can find me the HwWatchface.apk included with the HW2, or even a copy of any HW2 stock firmware, I'll see if I can extract whatever is necessary to get it working on the HW1.
EDIT: Never mind, someone was kind enough to post it in the HW2 forums. I'll open it up tonight and see what I can do.

Sorry, no luck. When I try to use HwWatchface.apk from the HW2, all of the watchfaces show up in the watchface menu, but most of them only show a black screen when selected. There seems to be different supporting apps in the HW2 firmware than there are in the HW1 firmware, and I have no idea what I would need to do to get the watchfaces to play nicely on the HW1, and I don't have the time to dig into it.
I installed the file in twrp but i still can't find the faces in my watch. Anything special steps to do with this? Thanks.

There shouldn't be. I just tried to re-install it after doing some tinkering, and they don't seem to want to appear. Very strange. Maybe I messed up and put the stock apk in that zip. I'll figure it out when I get home today.

Looks like you have to factory reset to get the faces to show up. Sorry about that.

The apk is in the flashable zip if you want it. However, it must be installed as a system app, so you can't install it via adb install.

So, as of yesterday i am completely new to android, though a big tech head.
my typical approach tends to be break it now, and figure out how to fix it.. then if it breaks again you know what to do. haha..
i'm looking for a backup, i uninstalled google talk and of course had the associated problems with doing that, and am unable to repair it without another image.
Other Suggestions?
I tried all of the Clockwork mods available for similar devices and none work :-/ bad thing is, if it doesnt work I have to pull my battery out, meaning I have to take this damn two piece case off! Help us peeps of genius! Thanks
I am also looking for the ROM, as I deleted the Talk as well. I reinstalled Talk, but the Market still does not work. If anyone can help me out here, it would be greatly appreciated.
I think that I have found the ROM at:

huaweidevice.com/worldwide/downloadCenter.do?method=downloadFile&flay=software&fileName=37043&attachmentName=M860V100R001C153B251SP03.zip
EDIT: It is a very slow download!
EDIT 2: I have installed this and can confirm that it does work!
Ok so we download this but what can we do after we install this? This is just the recovery image right?

I have uploaded this and both informational files to my site. You guys may view then at:
Code:
muh****.com/downloads/
They have images with step by step instructions. I will not be hosting these files long, maybe a few weeks, as it will kill my bandwidth.
Oh, yes, it is only the factory image/rom/firmware. I was only doing this for the people that have messed up their phones and are needing to restore to the current factory settings. This is not the same as the phones restore, as that does not replace system files, but this does.
Thank you Xerxes
I'm just gonna download it just incase i mess up my phone in the future.

So does anyone have a ROM cooked up for this one yet? Or a reliable method to Root it? It is driving me bonkers that it constantly launches the crapware that came preloaded on it. It need to be cleaned, the bloat slows it to a painful speed...
Anyone? Why would it auto launch Uno? Help!

I have rooted mine twice without any issues, other than I deleted Google Talk the first time, using SuperOneClickv1.5.4-ShortFuse.

EDIT: Also I bought SystemApp Remover, to remove Uno, midnight bowling and a few other things. It works great, once you are rooted. You have to hit the uninstall twice on some apps.
system app remover
if it says just uninstalls and not deletes... whats tha difference. also has anyone found a way to increase volume hrough headset/ I am rooted through z4root. also had no luck in installing clockwork mod recovery..
Uninstall means it removes it, and not just deleting the program. So it removes the settings that calls for it to run, and not just delete the program an leave the settings.

Worked perfectly, and now StickMount is working too. Just played a video off USB in XBMC.
Does anyone know a way to remove the su app from showing in the leanback launcher. Can't find it in the settings anywhere.
Pardon my ignorance, but what does this do exactly? ...aside from the obvious "gives you root"...I mean how, what does it do to the system?

Well be in next version, if you set icon to invisible, it will also disappear from leanback launcher.

Are you referring to the launcher settings or SuperSU settings there should be an option in SuperSU settings to set the SuperSU icon to invisible.
I just happened to check my system today and had the OTA update from LRX21M to LRX21V waiting. I tried installing it but Recovery stopped halfway through the install with an Error. I got back into Android with a power-cycle, so things are fine, but it's still on 21M.
I'm guessing this was due to having rooted the device. Is there a proper way to remove SuperSU to allow for a system update? I see there are 3 different options for cleaning up; does it particularly matter which one I choose? I could just pick one and try it but I'm kind of curious what the differences are between the options. Anybody know?
Update: I tried the second and third cleanup options (new superuser app and full unroot) and neither got me into a state where the OTA was successful. So I just downloaded the factory image and flashed the system.img from it, then reapplied the original root process.

probably a full unroot and flashing the stock boot.img would fully unroot, I wonder when LRX22C (5.0.1) will hit the nexus player
The root is fundamental in all devices for many things, and thanks to Chainfire and others independent developers we can consider Android a semi-open platform. (semi-open because not all is open source)
We don't want Android like the Apple walled garden, but we are not even against the sale of the software, we just want a common garden in which the user can choose and is not obliged.
For example with the root, it was easier to start this project:
Nexus Player with a Full Version of Android Lollipop https://plus.google.com/103019026671039069038/posts/V5XaLxK3vN8
This is just the base rom with all hardware components working, on this base that is very usable, i want add many other options. like external usb webcam and mic, improving the audio part that have fixed volume and many other things useful for the use in TV.
Nexus Player is not just Android TV, but is the first Nexus device with an intel cpu. Is a milestone in the evolution of Android.
This is just the start and I am very open to sharing and collaboration on this project.
Thanks Chainfire for the root and for your "How-To SU" guidelines.
Out of interest will rooting prevent OTA updates from installing in the future?

I did this, despite the warning it gave me. Now although I still get permission dialogs etc, I can not run the main program to delete apps etc from SU access. Is there anyway to go back to the main screen? I went to the apps sections of the NP and unlike other apps it didnt have an open command.
To get it back do I need to uninstall and then re-CFroot?
Thanks. I should pay better attention to dialog boxes but its not a huge deal.
Just getting the word out to everyone. This works without root and makes it super easy for you to remove any Bloatware you would like and fully control it.

That's a big deal to a lot of people though. For a lot of people who do not have root and are on KitKat, they can completely block packages on their phone that they otherwise could not. Sure, they allow you to block / disable certain ones on the phone itself, but not anything. This allows them to block any package, Knox included. And sure they could download a script, modify it for their purposes and create another script to unblock and so on and so on. But this maintains nothing and interacts with their device directly. Nothing to maintain and nothing to edit, etc. etc..
Anybody got a list of app that's safe to block. Don't want to cause an endless boot.
here's my complete script I have handy, after testing things and trying a few things without success, my phone many times would automatically erase all data and do a factory reset in the end of my failed experiments. Either that or I'd have to resort to that Odin package someone posted on here to flash back to stock. I think I've flashed my phone using that Odin package around 12 times now after downgrading from the forced updated NK3 back to original. I immediately run this script after enabling Developer options and enabling USB Debugging.
Just right click on the script and Run As Administrator on Vista,Win 7, Win 8 and Win 10.
**Make sure to have the 3 required Adb files to run Adb to communicate with device. I attached those 3 main files which you can extract to c:\windows\system32. This way you can run adb commands from any location on the computer since System32 is included in the environment variables for the OS

Jump on the forum thread, I have built in export and import of blocked packages support built in, someone will give you a list.
I Thank you Sir ... that is a nice, clean app that's works well, but I do have one suggestion for an improvement if you are open to it.
I like the fact that it has a filter function, but the filter only works on the name in the apk name, not the package name. It would be really sweet if it would search both areas. :good:

I figured if SD was writable and debloater cleared out the junk I could live without root with the update. I know I can disable some of the apps from the launcher, but there are / were some under 4.4.4 that only debloater could take care of for me. Unable to do that under 5.01.
Hi!
I'm curious if I can install watch faces directly on my moto360 with the usb cable and adb?
Sorry if it's answered somewhere else, I didn't find it :/
im not sure if you can install them straight to the watch, you may need to root it in order to do it. but you cant have any connection to the computer unless you make this. But I hope that helps and I wish you luck.

I just picked up this watch so I'm still learning...I haven't broken down a ROM to see the structure, but I'm guessing you can install apks.
add the apk to your sdktools folder, connect cable, use this cmd:
adb install nameofapk.apk
Hi!
I know that I can install apks, but don't really know what to install :/ (tried installing watchmaker, but it's not working)
I'm not sure if it helps anything but there is a custom Rom out there for the moto. I think it's called like ghoma or something. It hasn't really had any updates since January but it still works. I thought I'd let u know.
Hi there, uh... I will directly to question
I downloaded Quick Reboot from XDA labs apps, and it has many useful options to every user who likes to flash stuffs and do anything with their phone, so, I'd like to know if is there any way to get rid of that stock power off menu and add some new options like reboot to recovery, fastboot and others WITHOUT USING THINGS THAT BREAKS SAFETYNET SUCH AS XPOSED... See attached pictures to understand better please.
Thanks in advance for any answer!
Not as far as I know. You'd need to modify the system app that's controlling that. So either you are able to get that app, decompile it, change it and recompile it without errors and get it to install... Or you use XPosed. I don't think there is a way with tools like Magisk

Like I said, if you can get that app and modify it successfully no problem. But to make sense as a Magisk module that would need to work at least on every close-to-AOSP ROM and I don't think that's possible. Maybe I'm wrong and there actually is an easier method but then I'd be surprised that I don't know if it since I would like to have that too
