nexsus 5x (bullhead) won t boot - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, i own my nexus 5x since july 2016, just yesterday i decided to root it.
so.. first i downloaded the adb tool on my pc, i unlocked the bootloader and then while boooting, it showed an orange message wich says "your device software can't be checked for corruption. please lock the bootloader" but in a few seconds it disappeard, and the device booted.
today, i flashed a custom boot.img and i also flashed the lastest versione of twrp for my device.
in the end, the device while booting, opened the fastboot mode, also if i pressed only power button, and the recovery worked pretty fine. when i pressed start, it sayed the same advertisment, but this time it did'nt disappear.
after a few rebbot with the same ending, i locked again the bootloader succesully, but that time it tald me a red error, "sistem is corrupted" wich wasn't going away.
i locked again the boot loader and now i am in the same situation.
i've done a data wipe, and a cache wipe from recovery and nothing happend.
waht should i do?

solved
ok guys, i solved the problem by flashing stock rom from adb found on google official thread, i also flashed superSU and now it works fine

[Q] Recovery not possible anymore.

Hello,
My Xperia z1 compact is not able to boot to recovery anymore. I have installed cm11 nightly build from 9th mai 2014. Yesterday i tried to update with cm-updater, but after it successfully downloaded the rom, my z1 compact just rebooted but did not enter recovery. So no update was performed. After that I tried to enter recovery-mode manually, first with SleepandWake -> Restart -> Recovery and after that from PowerOff with "PowerOn and VolumeUp". My Phone always boots the normal system. Also the LED-light is missing. Normally it lights purple and orange while booting Recovery, but since yesterday it stays off while booting.
Howerver, booting into bootloader is still possible. The blue light is on while in bootloader.
I bought it a while ago in February, I think and it is running CM11 since the first Day and I do my updates twice a week.
Does anyone know about that problem? How could this happen? And what can I do to update my Smartphone?
Any hint is appreciated.
Thanks
Kind Regards

Hello,
that solved my problem. But I am very curious how this could happen.
Thanks anyway!

Hi,
same problem here but other rom.
My Z1C ist rooted and on 4.4.2 (14.3.A.0.757) Stock. (Something with generic DE).
Sorry, i am not so familiar with this.
Now I can't enter the recovery menu anymore. On booting the phone a red led flashes (instead of a green one while rooting process).
When a app tries to "boot to recovery", the phone normally boots android.
I have tried the install.bat in Z1C-lockeddualrecovery2.7.123-BETA.installer.zip and choose option 1 "rooted with SuperSU".
Scripts runs through but when phone reboots, only android starts.
Could i try to flash the kernel new or would i loose my root?
If your bootloader is locked you need to start again from the beginning of the guide. The above solution is only for unlocked bootloader.

Samsung galaxy nexus bootloader can't make changes to flash

My friend's phone somehow got into a reboot cycle. It loads up, launcher starts, notifications start working. Then there is a nullpointer and a core service that is failing to start then it reboots.
So as a solution I thought try wiping data/cache. When booting the bootloader it was already unlocked - not sure if we did that a while ago or what. So going into recovery, trying the data wipe, it says success and then when I start the phone it is the same, no data is gone, apps are there, reboot problem continues.
So next step, try flashing the os. I downloaded the most recent yakju build, jwr66y. My bootloader version is PRIMELA03 and the build comes with MD04, so I try:
fastboot flash bootloader <bootloader_img>
And it reports success, everything looks fine. So I reboot the bootloader and it says BOOTLOADER VERSION - PRIMELA03.
Try fastboot oem lock, says locked. Reboot, UNLOCKED. Tried flashing the bootloader and the main img with and without restarting but always get the error:
Device version-bootloader is 'PRIMELA03'.
Update requires 'PRIMEMD04'.
when trying to flash the stock rom.
I also can't boot the stock image via 'fastboot boot'. It looks successful up until it says booting and goes to the Google screen with the padlock at the bottom and just hangs.
If I try using adb sideload to push the stock update, it says verifying, then aborts.
I also tried flashing the recovery with a cwm recovery but the same problem - it says writing, OKAY, no error message, everything looks fine, then boot recovery and it's the stock recovery.
What it looks like to me is that the bootloader and possibly the entire system is failing to write to the system flash but for some reason thinks it's succeeding. How is this possible? Is the flash dead? Am I missing something basic? I haven't rooted a phone in a couple years so it's quite possible I'm just missing a step.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
I just tried flashing an older stock (imm76i), starting by flashing the radio, but again the radio flash looks successful but the kernel won't flash because it complains about an out of date baseband and sure enough, the old one is still the one it's reporting, not the one just flashed.
tried fastboot erase system and fastboot erase recovery. Both report success but recovery boots as normal and system boots as normal (still in a reboot cycle).
I should also mention, that after the system boots, there is enough time to uninstall an app. It says successfully uninstalled, but after a reboot, the app is still there (this was the first attempt to stop the reboot cycle as a custom keyboard app was suspected). But again, the changes to flash seem to not be sticking.
Hi,
Have you resolved the problem? I'm in the same situation and I don't know what to do to stop the continuous reboot. I've already tried to flash a stock 4.3 factory image, erase the user data or only unlock the bootloader but nothing works. I'm running Android 4.3 stock without root and my bootloader is locked.
thank you in advance.

Can't boot into recovery with TWRP

EDIT: I FIXED IT. I had to go back to an older version of TWRP[2.7xx] for it to work on my older firmware.
HTC One M8 AT&T running 4.4.2, unable to update because I haven't been on AT&T for quite a long time.
Yesterday I unlocked the bootloader on my M8 for the first time and attempted to install TWRP[EDIT: ver 3.0.2] so that I could root my phone. I have the proper SDK and ADB drivers installed, fastboot is working just fine. I used the following commands:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
From there I have tried both rebooting into fastboot[which is what the TWRP website says to do] and also going back into bootloader and booting into recovery without restarting the phone. Neither option has worked. When booting straight into recovery after flashing the recovery, my phone just says "loading recovery" in pink letters with the HTC logo on the screen and stays like that. HOWEVER, I've somehow managed to get screenshots while force restarting my phone during that, and it shows the right TWRP screen, I just can't see it. Any advice at all would be appreciated. I did search through other forum posts but I could not find my problem of the screen I cannot see.

ZE551ML fails to Boot

Hello, everyone!
The problem is that when booted, the phone only vibrates and turns off immediately. The screen never enables, LED for charging never enables. When connected to a charger, just vibrates. Tried to follow the steps here : installed the Soc driver, plugged the phone, tried to power it off - device manager recognized the phone for a couple of seconds and then it's gone.
Long story short: I tried to install official firmware upgrade using TWRP > Install > .zip. The installation was going on for a couple of minutes and then the screen blacked out. Since then, the phone does not boot.
So, I got bored of my Android 5 and decided to install a custom ROM, but I had to upgrade official firmware before that.
At first, I dove into how to install custom ROM tutorials, so I did the rooting first:
I downloaded a BootLoaderUnlocker program from the official Asus website and unlocked the BL. Then, I followed a tutorial for one-click-root, and succeded. Then I installed TWRP and flashed the Recovery to the latest available img for my phone and tried to install the Lineage OS 14.1 but got status 7 error, meaning something is incompatible.
This post states, that in order to install Lineage OS 14.1 I have to have a firmware at least MM 4.21.40.xx which is Android 6, so I went to the official Asus website and downloaded the Firmware upgrade. Since, I probably had the wrong BL at that point, I flashed the bootloader with TWRP for Z00A (Lollipop) 2.8.7.3 from here, which is the same website from which the post suggest to download a BL for MM (Android 6). I thought, since I currently have the Lolipop, should install the BL for that, just to be sure. Then I started the firmware upgrade, which rebooted the phone into the BL, I didn't think, and just pressed Normal Boot and the phone booted as usual in the old Android. Then I tried to initiate the instalation again but couldn't (it's supposed to auto-detect the file in the storage root), so I got an idea to just boot the Recovery, maybe it will continue. So, I did that, and the TWRP showed up (I forgot about it already and thought that the instalation would just continue), so I just pressed Install and chose the firmware upgrade zip manualy. The installation was going on for a couple of minutes and then the screen blacked out.
Since then, the phone does not boot. If I try to, it vibrates like it is going to boot, but then nothing happens (not even a logo).
I even tried to disconnect the battery: removed all the screws, removed the back panel and manually disconnected it. When I put it back the phone vibrated like it was going to boot, but nothing happened again.
P.S. I tried to boot into the Recovery, but that just does not work, and even did not work before the firmware upgrade (I googled, that I must press power and volume up and hold until the logo appears, but that doesn't happen).
upd: plugged into the charger, periodically shows the battery icon on the screen.
upd: I went to a service and the dude said I might have screwed up the `preLoader`, so some might say it's a disastah

So, I went to a service and turns out I messed up the PreLoader, that boots the BootLoader. Sometimes this cannot be restored and costs a bunch of money to replace the memory block, but I got lucky and got the phone repaired.
P.S. Do not install official firmware with programs like TWRP, use only your manufacturer's SoftWare
