Having all sorts of issues and hoping a new rom or something may assist. This thing has been beat up since then.
You got a nexus, flash it.
Aosp, Los, and slim all up to date and doin' good.

has anyone or can anyone port a newer version of AOKP for the DHD/Inspire? like milestone 1 or whichever one is newest? I personally only like aokp and not too fond of the aosp or aospx. I flashed Pacman rom but had too many problems with it.
so if anyone can port one it would be GREATLY appreciated.
thanks a lot

You mean AOKP Android 4.2? We've just got an AOSP based 4.2 ROM, so I'd just be paitent for a AOKP based follow up. If not, maybe you can suggest it to synergy or RandomBlame? I believe RandomBlame already has a 4.2 ROM, but it's in its baby stages as of yet.
no a JB version 4.1 im back to running aokp release 7 from the github. but hasnt been a new one since like September.

RandomBlame is on Release 30 now, look for JellyTime in the Development forum
I don't know about 4.2 AOKP, but if it's options you want you could try cfX 4.2.
I tried aosp ROMS and cfx 4.1 but I don't like them as much as AOKP for some reason. Although I have not tried cfx 4.2 yet. Was waiting for Bluetooth to work. Also I've tried jellytime aosp and I always come back to aokp. I ran Icecoldsandwich for the longest time but I want to stay on JB and not ICS. If I actually had the time (kids, work, wife) I would try porting a newer aokp over to dhd/inspire myself but I never have time. Even dropping a deuce is apparently a "team sport" according to my kids. LOL.
bump?
cfX bluetooth works now, if that is what's still preventing you from using it.
And just today: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2113047.

The reason is very obvious one
AOSP - clean unbranded stock android
AOKP - unbranded android with cleanly built in to settings menu additional features like CPU OC, status bar tweaks etc.... with everything else as close as possible to AOSP.

Thank God. if I knew how to Port and had the time I would have done it myself. but major thanks go to PipelinerArd for the ROM.
Hello I hope you are doing well. I have tried to flash Liquidsmooth and Cyanogenmod nightly 3/16 and both of them will freeze during a phone call and or after a phone call. I tried the sonic TW rom and have had no issues. Can someone please let me know what the issues might be and how I can fix them. Thank you so much I need a very stable ROM as I use my phone for work.
Were those 4.2.2 roms? Those arent quite stable yet, theyre still working on them
Flash a 4.1.2 / MB1 / MA6 ROM if you're looking for as much stability as possible

I believe for Liquidsmooth that error was caused by the most recent release (titled STABLE). I know that RC2 didn't have the same issues with freezing on phone calls. The RC2 is available on their goo.im page.
But, like CNexus said, 4.2.x Roms will inherently be a less stable than TW-based Roms. That's just the way it is when you're developing something that's not been officially released for your device. In the 4.2.x Roms that I tried, it was stable enough for my (non-business) needs.
Seems like I've been hearing this issue on various threads since the new CM kernel was released. CM is still in nightlies so it is not 100% stable. But it could be a lot of different things.

I appreciate all the help is there any good roms that are not TW that are stable MA6? If you could point me in the right direction. I tried searching MA6 and got kernels?

Well, I don't know exactly what you mean by non-TW-based MA6 Roms. As far as I know, MA6 Roms are inherently based off of touchwizTW (since it's a build of Samsung's Sprint Rom). I assume you mean Roms based off Android version 4.1.2, which is the version that came with MA6.
I know freeza has gone and removed a lot of TW features from his Galaxy S fre3 Rom. It's currently on MB1, which is only a minor upgrade from MA6.
But for the most part, the MB1- and MA6-based Roms are pretty solid in terms of stability. I'd recommend going to the Rom Wiki created by Hamspiced. I have no idea when it was last updated (maybe a week or two ago), but it has a lot of links to MB1 and MA6 Roms (as well as a lot of AOSP, etc. Roms)
Just settled down on a ROM and setup for my S3 and now I'm moving on to my Note 8. Rooted and got Philz's Touch Recovery 6 on it.
I'm looking for a good stable 4.4.2 ROM for it. I know not all of the available ones show up here on XDA so I'm shouting out for suggestions. All I can find so far are weekly/nightly releases and I'd rather start off with one deemed "stable" if it can be helped.
I have tried out the last SlimKat weekly, and I'm messing around with CyanogenMod 11 too. I'd rather not stick with CM but I think I might've just had a bad experience with it from the S3 (Iffy camera functionality and a few other things that brought me to another ROM).
Has anyone tried any 4.4.2 ROMs, or know of any good/up-and-coming 4.4.2 ROMs for the Note 8.0 that are worth it? I have the n5110.

You can have a look to Civato's ROM. It's based on Samsung Stock Rom, then should be pretty stable.

Thanks! I'll look into that one. I am a little weary of Knox, and I'm not a fan of Samsung's email client with corporate accounts but this looks promising.
Dear All,
I'm looking for stable custom rom (if possible lollipop/marshmallow) for my e988 4g KitKat device, especially that can save battery usage. Do you guys have any refference?
There are so many custom rom but i'm difficult to find the plus and minus side of those rom.
Ive been looking to cm site, but unfortunately they are not available anymore
Thankyou
Look, most AOSP ROMs have same issues: camera crashes, bluetooth connection problems etc. etc. Everything else is pretty much same. People were mostly using SlimLP and Carbon, some used Bliss but I think there is no download link for it. Slim and Carbon use a bit more customizable kernel (dave used my kernel for as long as he built Carbon, and SlimLP has just a bit newer version of it, with GPU issues fixed completely).
My choices were Slim and (later, after Slim stopped updating their Lollipop sources) PAC (built for personal needs, no uploads) so if you want AOSP, go with SlimLP or Carbon. Carbon was working nicely too, and last time I had Bliss installed was somewhere after Lollipop just started, so can't judge how last versions worked.
If any of this is not good enough, try any of these stock roms, if any still available. I can't recommend anything from there simply because I never wanted to use those - if stock was that good, I'd stay on it
P.S. This device never received Marshmallow updates due to insane amount of work someone had to provide. I had few attempts but never moved over some issues with modem. More in the forums...
Thank you for the explanation, i will look more for Carbon in Android Development threads.

Were there any MM kernels ever compiled that you know of? Could someone with enough time and work be able to successfully compile a working rom? A bit of a developing noob, but have two E980s and plenty of time on my hands.

Yes, mine I was probably only one who worked on Marshmallow, but sources are now long gone, drive I've kept my repo is dead and I haven't uploaded that anywhere.
I've been using Carbon KK for several months and it is very stable and smooth. I've never used MM so not sure how it compares, but it has all the features I need to keep using this phone every day.

I just got an old Samsung captivate glide and was trying to modernize it a little bit. I think the best working android rom is the "cyanogenmod 11 kitkat4.4.4" that I found on a xda Forum thread. It's nice, but I was just wondering if there was anything else more recent? All the threads went dead around 2014. I know its an unusual request, but I'm just checking all the bases to see is there is anything else more updated for this phone model. Any help would be very appreciated.
I too am using the CM 11 KitKat ROM. It does seem to be the best choice for this old phone. There is a Lineage 11 build but it doesn't work with Xposed (causes boot loop) so I went back to the last CM 11 build dated 2016/11/02.
There is a CM 12 (Android 5.0/Lollipop) ROM, but it's from 2015/03/01 - older than the KitKat ROM. Big problem is, the Glide's camera won't work with it, so it looks like the developers just gave up on it.
