Problem Audio ROADNAV S160 - Connected Car

Hi, I wanted to ask you to help me if it is possible with a problem.
I try to explain everything briefly.
I have a s160 for Kia Sportage model M537-1 with Canbus, but I'm not good at both sound quality and low volume.
After months of testing (I also changed the woofer and tweeter of the car) I realize there is a chance to make the sound almost perfect.
Entering the factory settings (## 0323) by clicking "Select External Power Amplifier", you will see 4 options:
- Built-in adjustable
- External adjustable
- Build-in Fixed
- External Fixed
(My car has as standard a small amplifier on the back made by Kia's mother house)
Using the "External Fixed" option, low audio and poor quality. By switching to "Built-in adjustable" the sound becomes perfect for quality and volume !!
The problem is just that, once I turn off the car and restart, the audio disappears.
Contact Roadnav and tell me that the only option I can use is "External Fixed," because "Built-in Adjustable" is an option that unlike Built-in Fixed and External Fixed does not send the power-on command to my amplifier Series, this is why the sound is "silent".
Now I wanted to ask you, there is a way to change the "Build-in adjustable" option in the firmware, maybe by taking that string or code from "External Fixed" which allows the amplifier to turn on when the car is switched on.
It would be a great thing for me, but also for all those who have this car for Kia Sportage. If you have other tips to improve the situation I would be happy. Thanks

Bizzare Speaker/Sound Problem

Hi All,
This morning I was listening to my favorite Podcast through the speaker of my SX66. I then headed out the door (still listening) and plugged the unit into my car stereo via the 2.5mm audio jack. I continued listening over the car stereo with no problems during my drive to work.
When I parked the car, I unplugged the SX66 expecting to have the audio switch back over to the speaker so I could hear the conclusion of the Podcast as I walked to the building. However, when I unplugged the unit there was complete silence. If I plugged it back in, the audio played normally through the car stereo again.
After playing around a bit, I found that except for the playing of ringtones for incoming calls, no sounds come from the speaker. The volume controls have no effect, and anytime I plug the headset in, I can hear all of the sounds normally through the headset (menu clicks, WMP, etc.).
I tried soft resets followed by more desparate hard resets. No effect. What in the world would cause the system and WMP sound to stop playing through the speaker only (headset OK), but ringtones for incoming calls play through fine? I'm confused. Is this a software or hardware problem? Anyone seen anything like this?
:?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Paul
Paul, it sounds like you have broken the audio jack socket on the unit, they have a switch type arangement in them to disable the speaker when on external sound, if a bit breaks off (which is what I suspect) then the removal of the jack plug will not re-make the connection for the audio to route back to the internal speaker - sorry to be the bearer of bad news - it needs a repair mate - Mike
Thanks for the suggestion, however it turns out this is a software problem. Specifically, it has to do with the BT patch that I was running (Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd. BHCS, posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=36626&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75). It seems that if I add any BT device at all (even non-audio devices like a keyboard) and have the tray icon enabled (BTIcon.exe), then I have no sound. I'm not sure whether it's the patch, BTIcon, or a combination of both.
I removed the patch and took BTIcon.exe out of the Startup folder and everything went back to normal.
Paul
I have such problem
Sorry, I really tried to find something like this, but stuck.
Ican't solve it, and Removing BTtray - doesn't helps.

A2DP - Automatic Stereo Audio

I have searched around XDA and haven't found a solution to this yet.
I have a wireless transmitter to play music in my car. When I turn bluetooth on it automatically turns on 'Hands-Free' but doesn't turn on 'Stereo Audio'.
Previously on my Kaiser (with a different car kit) turning on the transmitter set it up automatically.
I have tried AutoA2DP (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530932) but I'm not sure it worked - it certainly hasn't achieved the effect I want (although it does seem to open Media Player when I connect now).
Anyone found a solution on the TP2?
Cheers,
I did have take a quick look at my TP2, because I had no problem with the connection. My car radio (Sony Xplod) gives 2 icons... 1 from the hands-free and the other of my Audio. I've looked in my settings for you, and found one option what must be checked. It's something like: Make a seperate connection for handfree and audio! (I'm guissing to that sentence becuase I have a dutch ROM!)
Hope it helped you!
greetz
EDIT:
Just did take a closer look into my car, and now it also didn't take the extra connection with my sterio audio. This is the solution:
Go to Com Manager
Press Setting
Press Bluetooth
Take the second tab
And tap than Sterio Audio
Now He's saying he's trying to make a connection e voila! Now it's playing music true your car audio!
(This is the way with TF3D2!'

Yes - I've been doing this every time I get in my car - I just wish there was a way of doing it automatically (and then preventing the message 'You can't control audio via this headset' or similar).
Cheers,
Jim.
Hi,
Same problem in my car. Same car radio working with two (Sony Ericsson) phones I used before. They always connected immediately (both 'Hands-Free' + 'Stereo Audio). Strange that the TP2 is not comfortable with this simple task. Indeed, I think the option "Connect separately to Bluetooth hands-free and stereo audio services" should be unchecked but despite this option, the TP2 is still waiting for the appropriate tap. Going to BT settings and tapping 'Stereo Audio' each and every time is frustrating and uncomfortable.
Added subscription to this topic.
I'm a bit frustrated too with the AD2P auto connect problem.
I have a Sony MEX-BT3700U Car radio.
When I sit in my car, the handsfree function connects automatically with no hassle.
But not the Stereo Audio (A2DP) function. I connect it via the Bluetooth settings. After that it works great.
The problem is I'm always focused to activate AD2P manually first before I drive and forget that I have yet to start the car. So I have to start over. Going to settings > Bluetooth Settings etc. etc. ANNOYING!
So. I tried A2DP Toggle in combination with A2DP Auto Connect. Doesn't work.
Went searching for hours... But nothing. Think it has todo with the different BT Stack compared to other HTC's.
Still hoping for a solution.
@Ramsfan_Jim: which wireless transmitter are you using? I'm thinking of buying one to use w/my TP2. My factory head unit (VW Monsoon) doesn't support bluetooth.

I originally used a Venturi Mini - which had the advantage that it automatically set up handsfree & audio transmission as soon as I turned it on, but unfortunately it broke (repeatedly) with regular use.
I now use this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-MP3-FM-Transmitter-Bluetooth-Handfree-w-2-Remotes_W0QQitemZ250445424484QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_3?hash=item3a4fb5e764&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A6%7C72%3A1683%7C293%3A7%7C294%3A25 which is much sturdier - and seems to have a stronger signal. However, I have to change the bluetooth settings on the TP2 to enable Stereo Audio each time I connect.
Warning - this is a much bigger device, so dependent on where your cigarette lighter is in the car, it may get in the way. I had to buy an extension lead to move it so I could use the gearstick!
Newsflash.
Found out how to auto connect to my bluetooth car radio with my TP2.
I have a radio channel bar (or whatever it's called in english) from one to six. There's a "pause/play" description small above the number five. I accidentally pressed it and it suddenly connected my phone through AD2P.
So just press play and it gets connected. So no software needed for me.
I don't use a BT car radio but I do have a stereo BT and a regular BT headset. The stereo BT has both Handsfree and A2DP profiles. But since I use the A2DP only, in my Kaiser under BT Services I unchecked the Handsfree profile and now my stereo BT autoconnects every time.
ChriX84: thanx, very interesting information, will try it tonight in my car !
Another interesting info (might be useful in terms of a .cab file preparation...): a "BT Mono" (i.e. not Stereo Audio (A2DP)) with a very low volume signal is obtained (in my car radio at least) when pressing the "Play" button on the media player (Core or WMP) while still having Stereo Audio option switched off under the BT settings.

This worked for me too. Was bugging me to the extent where I wasn't bothering streaming audio any more!
Nice tip
I always burned new mp3 cd's or connected my mp3player/phone through a aux-cable.
Bluetooth Stereo Music is a huge step forward for me. The ease of using one device for everything. Calling, playing music without any cables. Thank god for that invention.

What exactly is a radio channel bar? Do you mean like a media widget or radio widget?
Personally this a2dp bug is a deal breaker for me. I primarily use my device for audio streaming.

Yeah where can you find this?

The bar with all the channel buttons. 1,2,3,4,5 etc.
Above or under those buttons there are little symbols with play/pause etc.

Android head unit (Pumpkin KD-C0224) - Sound stopped working via music/video player

Hi All,
I have recently experienced an issue where the sound has stopped working (not going through car speakers) when in music, video or navigation app.
This used to work perfectly.
Sound works normally when CD inserted
Sound works normally when using radio app.
Video app plays video - but no sound.
Music app plays the mp3 tracks - but no sound - can see the progress bar moving along (music (mp3) on SD card - 8GB formatted FAT32)
Also have issue with the BlueTooth - connects to phone but seems to be around wrong way - it appears the head unit thinks it is in phone handset mode when it is not - as result can hear people talking through the car speakers but they cannot hear me unless i toggle handset mode, but then people can hear me talking, but i cannot hear them...
I suspect for whatever reason the audio out is being directed to Blue tooth or whatever
Has anyone else come across this issue, and if so is there a solution?
Device
Pumpkin 2-DIN
KD-C0224
MCU version: MTCB-KLD-V2.02
Model # : S07
Android Version: 4.2.2_01092014
Have you tried making your phone and the head unit forget each other?

Yes I have - same result
Have also tried
- resetting unit - factory reset
- pulling the power on unit for
Whatever the issue it appears to be persistent between boots....
Now there is another issue - won't display the feed from the reversing camera
The head unit switches into camera mode, but displays message "No Signal"

To offer you the best customer service, we will send you the return address for full refund of your order.
I also have a Pumpkin KD-C0224 head unit and it works really great, does way more than you need it to do. (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pumpkin-Capacitive-Multi-touch-Navigation-Multimedia-y/dp/B00OB90SOY/)
1. About the sound issue, perhaps there is something wrong inside of the unit.
2. About the Bluetooth, you can try settings-》backup&reset, then do the “factory data reset to see if it can help.
3.About the "No Signal", I have encountered this issue and Pumpkin sent a video instruction http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu8maRNrtlk
PS:You can ask for help from Pumpkin and customer service has been very good.
Android 4.4.4 Car Unit S07 sound problem
Hi to all,
I have a similar problem. My device is a Universal 2-DIN, Model: S07
Lately I had a problem with sound coming from sd-card. The quality of sound was good enough for some time and few minutes later, the sound coming only from one speaker, then transfered to another speaker then the listening becomes very bad and suddenly comes back very good as in the beggining.
That was in the past because now there is no sound at all.
More specific:
I have sound in Bluetooth, CD-DVD, Radio and the touching clicks (on device).
No sound at all from the device such as NAVI apps, in 2 sd-card slots and 3 USB's (2 back, 1 front). Of course I see video but without sound and the music plays mp3 once more without sound
I have already done the following:
I opened the device, unplug and plug-in again all the ribbon cables. Factory reset in Android 4.4.4, upgrade to 5.1 lollipop with reset to factory settings again, and finaly downgrade back to Android 4.4.4 with reset to factory settings again. The problem is still the same.
Is it damaged ribbon cable ? or other hardware problem ? because I don't think that is a software problem. Any opinion is helpfull.

[SOLVED] Low Bluetooth volume

Ok , I lied: I don't have a solution for this
BUT, I had it! I solved this problem two times already but at the third wipe I forgot how it's done and now I can't remember
The problem: I use applications that read notifications (whatsapp, email, facebook, sms) through the speakers of my car or through my bluetooth mono earpice. When in the car (which I suppose it's stereo) the volume is extremely low.
I remember I solved this on 6.0 and 7.1 fiddling probably with XPosed and other stuff.
I use "SMS,MyCar&Me" but I also tried "ReadItToMe - Unique Handsfree" and I have the same problem.
The bluetooth mono earpice is a Kelodo S570
The car entertainment system is Fiat Blue&Me
I'm writing this post mainly as a reminder to myself, I'll update it as soon as I remember the solution
I think I found a different solution, but so far it worked with the Kelodo S570 (I'll try it in the car too)
Dynamic Media BT Mono Router
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...it&rdid=net.philipp_koch.dynamicmediabtrouter
What this does basically is re-route the media volume to the bluetooth mono channel.
In the app "SMS,MyCar&Me" I have the following option:
Send output to Bluetooth headset
Mono BT headsets will not be used [_]
Mono BT headsets will be used (eg headset that cannot play music) [X]
With the S570 I can use both options.
With the checkbox checked, the audio is low.
With the checkbox un-checked, the audio is fine but this is because the S570 can also be used for "Multimedia audio". This means I hear all the sounds of the UI through the earpiece.
This is not the case for the Blue&Me. With it, I can only use it for "Phone audio" and "Share contacts" (this is what I see tapping on the cog in the Bluetooth settings of Android)
If I uncheck the box the device is disconnected, the notifications are read through the phone's loudspeaker

HIFI DAC Help( Audio Experts needed! )

Hi guys. I downloaded an app called Android hidden settings from the play store. I already use settings database editor as well as the hidden settings magisk module, but I saw if one thing inside this app I haven't seen anywhere else. There is a setting called Hi Fi DAC pop up. When you click on it floating window opens and it gives you the option to turn on DTS x and the hi-fi quad DAC. you can toggle the switch is regardless of whether or not you're playing music so I figured this wouldn't do anything. This is what I noticed:
When the floating window first appears, DTS is already enabled, I disabled it and toggled the DAC switch to the on position and proceeded to open my music player. From here I opened the full settings menu and clicked on the sound effects section to check if the DAC was switched on in the phones full menu and the toggle is actually still set to the on position. Figuring there would be no change in sound, I messed with the left and right channels anyway as well as the sound preset and digital filter. Before I go further I forgot to mention that I do not have headphones plugged in, I am playing music directly through the phone speaker. To my surprise, the audio quality does change and the volume is limited to 75 as if a headset was plugged in.
I opened up the Flinger Dump app to check audio output details but it is very limited to what it shows. I'm wondering if anyone with more knowledge on the topic and the proper tools could do some further testing and see what changes actually occur. I use UAPP, and its output is showing differently then flinger dump is. Could be a complete waste of time, could lead to something further...
If I have not misunderstood, what you mean is that with that app, you inadvertently activated the dac or the dts for the speaker's sound channel, right? If so, it would be amazing to be able to modify how the dac behaves without headphones. Perhaps it could be activated for the speaker, perhaps not, but what you propose is very interesting.
I'm honestly not sure. I don't believe so, but it's definitely done something and I don't have the knowledge or the software to see exactly what has changed. Basically, unless you have headphones or an auxiliary cord plugged into the phones Jack, you can't toggle the Hi-Fi DAC button to the on position as I'm sure you're fully aware of. This hidden shortcut allows it to be toggled on without anything plugged in to the headphone jack. I played some tracks thinking that there is a 99.9% chance that the audio quality wouldn't change ( or the sound wouldn't change, I don't know about quality ) but to my surprise it did change the sound. As long as the DTS:X is turned off, all of the other options had some sort of effect on the audio. The sound preset, the digital filter and the left and right channel knobs all had some sort of effect on any audio I played through the phone's internal speaker, and the volume limit changed from 100 down to 75, exactly how it would behave if headphones were plugged in.
I just need someone to help figure out exactly what this is changing, because my music app is showing 16bit and various Khz from the 300 range to over 1000...and as you can see from the screenshot the FlingerDump app is showing 24bit to 32bit and depending on the track but the KHZ remains the same.
It may be a dead end, but I figured that since there is an actual change in sound.... there may be a possibility for someone with more knowledge than me to take this and run with it and see where it leads. I removed all of my audio mods except for JamesDSP and John Fawkes DTS tuning because every other mod made my phone upsample everything from 44.1 to 48 and it was pissing me off. The results above were with USB Audio Player Pro, but I disabled bit perfect mode when I tested this out in order to avoid interference with the results.
I'm on stock android q (through fota) and out of curiosity i tried that. Nothing happened. I can tap it and nothing. The same with dts settings. Turning quad dac to small speaker for me have no sense. Idk how circuits looks, but i think system itself don't let reroute signal through dac to speaker. BUT if ypu want to check then try that.
Open terminal app and type
su -c tinymix
And look for what is on screen.
If it's state is closed then quad dac is not working. If state is hifi, then it's working.
