Wrong encryption pattern after flash - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Today I tried to flash a new version of Lineage OS on my phone, while the encryption pattern on boot was stil enabled. I didn't realise this would cause such a problem..
Right after flashing Lineage OS the way it should, a message pops on the screen asking me to enter my pattern to start the device while booting, so I entered my code after which it says my code is wrong. The strange thing is that TWRP also asks for that code on startup, except now code is working.
So I can boot in recovery mode and decrypt the device with my old code, but as soon as I try to start the rom (tried LineageOS, my Nandroid backup and AOSPA) the same code doesn't seem to work.
I've already tried this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/psa-twrp-backups-lockscreen-security-t3245070, but this resulted in a bootloop.
Any idea how I can get rid of this problem and start using my phone again?
Thanks alot in advance!

Fixed it by using the 'Format Data' function in the wipe screen of TWRP! :good::good:

[SOLVED] How to go back to stock using odin?

I have the Canadian Wifi version (5110). I was running rooted stock, with CWM.
So, here's the situation that I'm in: The device was encrypted. After a bad restore from titanium my note would get stuck on the samsung animation (after asking for the encryption password). I went into recovery and formatted /data. After reboot, it kept asking me for the encrypted memory password (and not accepting the correct one). I then formatted all the other options that were in there (/preload, /system, /sdext etc). It still doesn't start after reboot. Shows the Name of the unit and just stays there, no samsung animation. I can power off and get into recovery again. I can flash other roms (I tried CivZ-FlexBeam) and once again I get to the point where it asks for the memory password (which it accepts) but doesn't go any further.
Edit: Solved it by flashing stock recovery and doing a factory reset from there.. thanks to civato here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333191

Pattern unlock not working

Strange issue. So I decided to flash AICP and gave it a shot, but for some reason the setup did not go past the 'set fingerprint' screen. So I decided to head back to my OOS nandroid backup. But after boot I was not able to unlock the screen with the same pattern that I used to unlock both TWRP and the encryption of the device. What could be wrong?
It's a twrp bug. Before u make a nanodroid backup remember to remove your lockscreen password
I setup pattern-unlock yesterday and used it a few times. Now that same pattern isn't working. I can boot into TWRP and that pattern will work. So I factory reset and the pattern lock is still there and I am still unable to get into my phone. How can I fix this?
Edit: I forgot to mention that I am getting an error "unable to mount storage".

My phone is stuck at boot password

Hi guys,
I have put a pattern for booting to unlock the phone. I have restarted the phone multiple times and entered the boot pattern without any issue.
I have flashed a MIUI8 ROM and about 3 days later I restarted the phone and my phone is now asking for a password to boot.
Even when using TWRP it is asking for the password to decrypt the mount data.
Can anyone help me? Im open to deleting the phone.
Is there a way to formate the entire phone while booting?

Encrypted OP3T - Remove Recovery Mode Pattern Lock?

Hi - I want to upgrade my wife's encrypted OP3T from OOS 4.x to a Nougat custom ROM.
Her TWRP Recovery Mode has Pattern Lock on Boot protection right now, which I can get into without any issues.
When I tried to modify her OP3T in the past, I ran into a problem where I couldn't unlock TWRP after flashing a new ROM. As a result, I had to wipe her phone, and lost all her data. It led to unhappy weeks at home, with a "Don't you DARE touch my phone again" for a long time after.
I would like to take precautionary steps this time, and set up TWRP so that I don't need to input a unlock pattern.
Is there a way that I can disable the currently required lock pattern to get into TWRP?
You should be fine if you have the latest twrp. That bug only occured in old build of twrp. Or remove the option set password on boot.
