I tried to root my g8. Installed supersu. When i tried reboot it showed your phone is not rooted do you want to root...i did that. after that phone went into bootloop twrp. I mistakely wiped all my data including system. Then I posted a thread on xda and got no help. So i tried to solve the problem on my own. I downloaded huawei update extractor and extracted erecovery.img into sd card and flashed using twrp then i did a reboot and then the phone directly booted into erecovey, I connected to wifi and and tried to recover it showed getting package info failed ps: not able to boot into twrp.. ANY HELP?
Install twrp for Other g8x and backup sdcard. Then flash your device

Hello ,ive been browsing many threads about getting TWRP recovery to work on v20d ,but with no succcess.
First i was rooted a while ago by ioroot.
Today i tried the ABOOT+TWRP tool by editing the batch file ,then it installed all the files and rebooted normally.
After that i used flashify to check if the recovery has been flashed ,and it rebooted to stock recovery.
Now i tried flashing recovery with TWRP manager ,result - Secure boot error.
Tried reflashing with flashify again ,still same error.
Any ideas how to finally get it working?

You will have to reinstall 4.2.2. using LG Flash tool to get TWRP working again.. here's a tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53140473&postcount=14

EDIT: factory reset and reflash, and repating the aboot+twrp toolkit process helped.
So, my dad so me putting custom roms on my N4 and he wanted to have custom roms too on his Xperia S.
So I followed all the instructions in this order:
Unlocked Booloader
Rooted
And downloaded TWRP manager from play store, but couldn't install trwp.
So I tried other way, putting twrp.img onto sdcard and using adb tried to install it, didn't work.
So I used old guide http://techglen.com/2014/02/12/install-twrp-custom-recovery-on-xperia-s-lt26i-nozomi/2/
And it worked, but it bootlooped.
So I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302393 , and no bootloop was gone.
So I turned on phone and and transfered rom and gapps onto sdcard, because I was stupid and forgot to put it before.
I installed twrp, tried to flash rom but it have me error, dont know what it said it just said flash failed.
I tried one more time, same.
Rebooted my phone, bootloop again.
No android on it, cannot use push/pull command.
Tried that cwm recovery, but no help still bootlooped.
So I can only use: fastboot, recovery(cwm or twrp)
Any help is appreciated.

Try this kernel. It has worked for Me for all ROM's. If You get error this time, note that error and post it here so a solution can be found.
Was trying to update the supersu binary by installing the updated zip in recovery. On reboot it was stuck in a boot loop. First off nothing else worked, then fastboot worked and then 10 mins later twrp recovery started working. I tried to restore a backed up image but still got boot loop. Then tried to flash a rom I had on sdcard - still boot loopy. Tried to go the miflash tool root but couldn't get it to find the phone despite it appearing in explorer. Copied stock miui zip onto sc card from pc and installed but still same problem. Standard dalvik/cache wipe before and after each install. Now I'm struggling to get recovery up.
Help - haven't managed to totally brick something despite many years of tinkering. :/
PS. I can still get fastboot up. Now when I try to get recovery up the screen goes black and I have to reboot.
***EDIT***
Solved. Not sure what I did right, but installing SuperSU 2.82 via TWRP and wiping the cache twice seems to have done the trick. No pulling card or battery - ran through one bootloop and then settled down after a minute.
So I'm trying to set up a backup phone after successfully rooting my primary phone using 5.1.1 (BPA1) and having some problems. First phone went OK and is stable. This one is giving me fits.
Downgraded from 6.0.1 to 5.1.1 using Odin.
Used Kingroot and ADB to get root.
Installed TWRP 3.0.2.
Made backup before I did anything else.
Download mode shows DEVELOPER
The problem starts when I try to install SuperSU. If I install it from TWRP the phone goes in to bootloop on restart. I've pulled the SD card, re-partitioned it, reformatted it, etc.
Tried different versions of SuperSU (2.71, 2.74, 2.78) and all result in bootloop. Tried the SuperSU directly from TWRP - same thing.
RootChecker reports not rooted.
I can restore the backup with TWRP and that stops the bootloop, so I don't have a bricked phone or anything.
Any ideas how to install SuperSU and eliminate the bootloop? Or am I at some point in the process which requires something else?
Even though I was successful on the primary phone, that still doesn't mean I really understand what I was doing.
Thanks,
Spumco

If you've completely wiped your device then there will be no OS to boot to, hence the reboots back to TWRP. You'll need to connect your phone to a PC to transfer over a rom zip file and install, or via USB OTG if you have one. Last resort would be a full stock reinstall with the latest factory release and then get TWRP back again etc.
