i need a bit help.
when I attach my One Plus 3 to my PC it is detected and I can access to some folders and files like DCIM folder and some images in it. But: I made some photos in the last couple of weeks which are placed in DCIM/Camera folder. But this Camera folder is not visible in DCIM folder which I see when the device is attached to my PC.
Same with Titanium Backup folder. I see this folder if i browse through my device with app ES File Explorer, but I cannot see this folder on my device when it is attached to my pc.
What is wrong here?

Known problem. Don't know for any permanent solution, but (at least from my experiences) there is a workaround. Connect the phone to the PC while booted into recovery mode instead of system. It should list all folders then.
Alternatively you can use ADB commands (adb pull) to get files from phone. This always works.

I remember this comment saying something else a minute ago ... ? Glad it worked.
If you're still interested in adb method - it works great for many files as long as they are in the same folder. You have to pull whole folder as there is no simple way to select multiple files.
Another alternative is to somehow connect phone to PC via network. I usually use Solid Explorer (but there are good free alternatives) to connect to my PC's shared folder and then copy files to it via this app.

Hi everyone, I'm having a real problem when connecting my LTE GNexus to the computer. I wanted to copy the TitaniumBackup folder to my desktop then replace it with the one I copied over from my old Droid Incredible, but when I look at the TitaniumBackup folder on the internal storage of my Nexus, it shows as empty, containing zero files. This is impossible, as I've done a backup already and even checked with ES File Explorer that all of the backup files ARE in fact present within the folder. However, the folder appears as empty on my PC and when I copy it, only copies an empty folder.
Furthermore, I then deleted the ENTIRE TitaniumBackup folder via ES, and the computer then showed the folder was gone (so it it's not like it's not reacting to changes made). I then redid the backup, which recreated and populated a new TitaniumBackup folder, but when I plugged it back in to my PC, the new folder didn't even SHOW UP. So now I have an entire folder that for some reason is completely invisible to the PC.
I don't know if this an issue caused by the Nexus or ICS specifically, the MTP protocol it uses to connect (instead of USB mass storage), or maybe even Titanium Backup. All other folders appear to be visible and the files inside are present (to my knowledge). What in the world is going on?!
PS: Please don't just give me a workaround for the current situation like "just upload it to Dropbox". I need to know how to fix this bigger issue for future use. Though if someone could recommend to me a way to upload whole folders to the cloud somewhere (Dropbox, Gmail, anything that allows me to pull it down via a PC) that would obviously be appreciated, as every app seems to only want to upload individual files, even the new DB. its MTP, this has been bugging me too, but for now i got a workaround (i know...)
get SDrescan, its free. it will force your phones media storage to rescan your files. once you do, you'll see your files appear in the explorer. rebooting your phone also triggers this

SDRescan did not work for me. Sits there forever saying "preparing" (I did let it sit for 30 min).
So, is there any solution for that?
Missing many files/folders on MTP.
This is really ****ting me up the [email protected] wall. I've trie everything, even sdrescan does **** all. Why does this issue exist and why the **** has't it been fixed
Using wifi, I've worked around it by using some of the features in AirDroid (sets up a web server on your GNex and you can login via a web interface on your PC). File Expert can also talk to windows shares on the same wifi network, I've used this to move around some large files as well.
I'm also having this issue, I've already tried fix permissions in recovery, did a symlink (not sure if I did it correct though) and now I'm trying sdrescan.
I'm thinking of going back to cyanogenmod backing up my entire sdcard to pc flash jelly bean and put back every file...
Cause pictures I've taken with Jelly bean are showing up in the gallery and via usb, so i'm guessing copying everything back to it will do the trick.
Most annoying thing is I can flash a new rom whenever and where ever I want and be able to fix my issues, but this sdcard thing is way out of my league...

Easy workaround : in the app X-plore file manager, long-press on your TitaniumBackup folder, choose "Create Zip", then Ok (doesnt matter where you put the zip, you will cancel/delete it soon)
Voilà! My files appeared instantly in Windows as soon as X-Plore started creating the zip file. So, cancel that dialog, and enjoy your titanium backup files.

Reboot didn't worked for me.
I tried through ES File Explorer to copy the Titanium folder in my computer via LAN.When it started copying files, then the folder magically showed its content.Then transferred via MTP as it's a lot faster than 802.11g.

Depending on where it is you need to mount it first. Which folder are you trying to delete?

I had a folder that became corrupted (repeatedly interrupted game data downloads, I think). I was unable to delete it (even as root) and received an Access Denied error. I was able to rename the folder (so it wouldn't conflict anymore) and delete the majority of its contents (still received the Access Denied error on a file or two). I eventually had to do a full wipe via fastboot -w to get rid of the corrupted files.
had the same problem. had to reflash su.zip and it worked. can't explain it though. just reaching at straws

it's the folder created by the Photaf application.
i uninstalled the app and the folder is still there...permissions are writable, not hidden...
i can rename it, but can't delete it....and the subfolder within it as well...
i remember it happened once before and the only way to get rid of it was to reinstall the ROM (AOKP). Once installed, i could delete the folder.....

LE: WTF, i just plugged in the phone into USB for charging and i saw the folder?! It deleted just fine?

My Asus Transformer (TF101) hasn't been able to download anything to the Download folder for months now. Even Opera (which I installed just to try and fix this) could only download to a different folder. I did what you said, plugged it into the computer and first renamed the folder with ADB but couldn't create a new Download folder. "File already exists." Lies. Windows Explorer said it was still there as Download so I deleted it in Explorer and created a new folder named Download. The create failed but Android said it was there and Voila! I can download again. Very weird, but not ready yet to reformat in fastboot. Thanks guys!
If you're rooted you may be able to delete the files from /data/media, which is the true location, instead of the visual SD that you are seeing.
Could also be a file ownership issue.
Using a terminal emulator, use the following command to list ownership and permissions:
ls -l
(Lower case letter L, not i or 1)
Most of the files and folders should show up as media_rw, but the problematic ones may show up as numbers. To fix them, boot into CWM recovery, plug in the USB cable, go into adb shell. Also make sure that /data is mounted in the CWM mounts menu. Then:
cd /data/media
chown -R media_rw.media_rw *
I can access my Clockwork Mod files via my Gnex, but they are not accessible when trying to copy to my PC. I see the device, I can see the CWM folder, but no backup folder exists. I can see everything else on the device. Tried coping the files to the root with no success. I have been able to access this files in the past.
Ideas?
I haven't had a problem specifically with CWM files, but changing the folder options on my PC (inside the Galaxy Nexus folders) to "show hidden files" usually did the trick...

Small chance, but look in your "clockworkmod" folder and its subfolders and see if there are a file called ".nomedia" which would cause the folder contents to be hidden when connected to the PC in MTP mode.
You can also use the app AirDroid to transfer files through WiFi.

I'm pretty sure that's a solution to the opposite problem. Hence, the files are showing up on the computer and phone file manager, but not in the apps. The .nomedia file tells the apps not to scan the specific folder they're sitting in. For example, yesterday my friends Galaxy Mini wasn't showing any pics in the gallery app or music in the music app, even though they clearly existed on the phone (via file manager and when hooked up to the PC). Deleted the .nomedia file and <insert sound effect here (I.E."BAM!"> all was good.

Thanks. Local Sync doesn't seem to be much quicker. Can't find the option to sync one folder only, so it is syncing my entire CWM folder.

Have tried reboots o both PC and phone. Also tried a different PC. Very strange that i can see everything else.
I could try to restore from a previous CWM backup and see if I am able to copy.

I am trying to figure out a way to copy clockworkmod directory to my PC, as the backups are taking up too much unncessary space on the phone. The problem is that via MTP Windows Explorer simply hangs and doesn't copy a thing. My guess is that the underlying issue is the huge number of very small files in the /blob sub-directory.
Could anyone guide me how to accomplish this task, please? Or, alternatively, what other methods of backing straight to the PC are there?

MTP sucks. I prefer to use adb for this: adb pull /sdcard/clockworkmod D:\your\path\here
If you don't want to use the commandline, you can alternatively use an app like ES File Explorer to access a LAN share (shared folder/drive on your computer) and copy files this way.

Now I have a GNex and I'm almost out of internal memory. I've copied my entire clockworkmod folder to my PC. I was wondering if I could delete the contents of the clockworkmod folder off of my phone (since it's all on the PC) to regain some storage space, and then only return the deleted contents to the phone when I need to do a nandroid restore without any problems occurring. I wouldn't want to go do all that only to arrive upon a large problem when I try to go back to stock JB JRO03C or anything like that.

I want to know this exact answer as well.
if you dont rename the folders, you wont have a problem.
I've found that the GNex toolkit makes it pretty easy to make backups, move them to your PC and restore plus a whole lot more. It's pretty good.

Unable to see clockworkmod folder through file explorer
HI All,
Am not able to see the clockworkmod folder through File Explorer. Whereas after i take a backup through recovery, i can see the backup exists in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup.

Uploaded the files into folder Download via USB when android/phone fully loaded and working. (SuperUS...or ROM...ot whatever)
Then typed
adb reboot recovery
When TWRP appears it askes for password, i press cancel and a sound is heard...(USB sound)
Then when i enter install menu....it shows vendor maps...system...cache and more.
BUT....the file i have added are not inside any of those folders. The download folder is not visible at all.
i have used 5-6 phones before with no problem at all when rooting and changing rom...or whatsoever. But this phone does not work?
I root the phone? I cant even find the SuperSU files anywhere even if i have saved it on the phone!!!
Can somebody please explain where it goes wrong? How to get the files visible ...the folders visible under twrp as they are seen when USB filetransfer view?

Which version of TWRP are you using? I'm stock rooted and had no issues with TWRP 2.8.7.2 and file browsing. I was able to see /sdcard/download with no issues.

I too have had problems seeing files/folders. In my case, If the files/folders are created from a phone app (uTorrent for example), they may not appear from a Win7 computer USB/MTP window. Sometimes they show up after the 5X (Pure Nexus ROM) is rebooted, sometimes not. I have resorted to recreating the top-level directory (ie Download) and try again. This usually this fixes it, but not always. I have checked & verified my drivers are the latest from Google. I'm stumped !!

Opened TWRP....pressing install...and there is a lot of folders in there...but NONE of them are visible when booting phone ordinary and choosing filetransfer usb...and uploading the files into download folder.
Where does it go when booting into TWRP i have no idea at all...!!

Hmm. What do you see when you select "Install" in TWRP? Are you taken to the "/" aka root directory? Can you navigate to /mnt/sdcard and see the contents you have transfered onto the phone?
