I recently rooted my phone with the help of One click root for android. I did this after reading this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...nd-testers-t3252659/post63908047#post63908047
I tried on solid explorer to edit the speaker gain default from 84 to 87 or so, but nothing seemed to happen, my volume was not louder.
I then bought root explorer for $3.99 and attempted again, mounted r/w and edited the file, but still nothing. No louder
What am i doing wrong? Can anyone one help?
Thank you

First of all you should not use any weird external program to root your device, yuo can get any kind on malware or weird stuff in you phone and pc this way, best way to root it is unlocking the bootloader, flashing twrp and flash SuperSU.
Now for the audio i recommend you to use any custom rom (dirty unicorns for example) and then flash arise sound mod. That's all you need

First, for root you can flash Supersu or Magisk with twrp. Second, there is flashable zips of Souround sound.

Totally agree with the first of all.
The second I would suggest custom kernel and some kernel manager to set the sound as like and hit apply on boot.

Hi Guys,
I dont know what happened, but all of a sudden I cannot move or copy any files with the stock browser. When I try android zip is says cannot move file due to system restriction. Phone is rooted with Gingersnap V1.2 with Darkside Kernel.
The last thing I did was try an app called undelete. Where are the restriction settings and what could have changed them?
Sounds like you need to root again. That restriction deal is something that would pop up if you weren't rooted.

Not on our device. Loosing root happens when your device has a locked bootloader like motorola & htc devices. There are programs for those devices that will give you temporary root access which goes away after a re-boot.
Samsung kicks ass because they do not lock their bootloaders. Once you install a custom rom (all custom roms come with default SU access), or use zergrush superoneclick exploit, you will have permanent root/SU access.

If I remember correctly, I had the same problem. I was trying to move a downloaded rom to the external sd and it wouldn't let me. I'm 90% sure I was also using the darkside kernel with the Tuesday rom.
Now I have the darkside rom with faux kernel and I have no problem moving files. I think we can assume what the problem might be. Try a different kernel
Not sure why I quoted you Lol
Thanks guy's. I will look for and try the faux kernel.
wierd though, just happened out of the blue.

I don't own an A100 so i can't test. At least the A500 version is working well, so there's no reasons this one does not work.
To flash it, put the zip file on your external_sd, then rename the file to update.zip, and finally reboot in recovery. The flash process will automatically be launch.
sorry....how to go into recovery?
Press the power button while pressing the volume up button
I've just flashed this firmware and it works great I used root keeper but it doesn't work, so no root for now.
can you write a little guide for this flash??
and, can you explain if it's fully work rom?(flash player, camera etc)
P.s. it's possible return to honeycomb stock rom?how do it?
thanks!!!!!!
1. Rename the provided file to update.zip
2. Copy the file to the root of your external sd card
3. Turn off the device; and press power while holding the volume up button - don't touch anything until the device reboots itself
4. Voila - you've got ics
From what I can see this is a fully working rom - unfortunately you'll lose the root access
and for the return to honeycomb?
Repeat the procedure with a honeycomb rom provided elsewhere; though I haven't tried it yet.
Just flashed it updated fine. still testing it out everything seems to be working fine

Try the root script. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1472521 if you could
Is the mass storage USB now working? Or netflix now broke? Flash working?

sorry but it doesn't work - I mean the root script
Flash is working
Downloading this now, great work Vache! I love time-travel, this morning I woke up in Febuary and XDA has taken me to Mid-April, incredible
Will report back on how it goes.
I, too, have installed root keeper and activated root protection. I'm going to do a reboot with root keeper enabled before I reboot to flash update.zip. I've also disabled any programs/scripts that run at boot and/or requiring root to see if this might help at all.
EDIT: ICS Update applies fine, seems pretty stock, doesn't have any of the ring stuff Acer said is coming. Google Chrome from the Market works fine accept for crashing when opening the Settings menu. Root, however did not stick.
Vache.... I think I love you...

Let me know if rootkeeper kept your root, for extra precaution I copied my su-backup to a few places, including /etc and renamed it as well
Updating mine currently, also downloaded that OTA Root Keeper app, and will see if that work.
hey all, im on stock jellybean for my s3. all my friends have stock s3's for verzion, atnt and metroPCS. in thier camera app they all have an option to turn shutter sound off, but i dont! is there a way to turn the shutter sound off on sprint s3?
believe it or not i believe its a sprint thing. Are you rooted?
no i am not rooted, but little things like this makes me want to root; -_-
i may have a soulution if you aren't down for rooting. need a few mins
Yeoi can change the shutter sound file if you root.
Though if there is an option without root I'd be interested.

You do not need root access to use odin. Just plug the phone into pc in download mode, and run odin.
I for the life of me can't remember how to get to the file to pull the shutter sound, I'm rooted and have ROM toolbox. Would someone mind refreshing my memory please? I'd appreciate it.

Assuming your on touchwiz jellybean go to /system/csc/ and open feature.xml
Find the line that says
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>false</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
And change to
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
So galaxy s3 nooby for the root world of this device, what will happen if I flash that? Will my info be wiped or mess up my phone to the point I can't update ota for future updates or what? I want my phone to be stock unrooted and function normal and not messed up. I'm not going to blame anyone if something happens although it's not their fault. I just would like to know what exactly will happen to my phone and if anyone can verify that flashing this via Odin in that one slot will in fact only add an option to camera

thats all it does. period. wont mess up ota's. wont add root. changes nothing but camera sound toggle option. And sorry to anyone that downloaded first link. androidfilehost sucks-another incomplete upload. Heres a new link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=39523970&postcount=102 . its an odin one click just extract and run
In my opinion, if you are afraid of root, then you shouldn't be using odin. Changing the camera sound settings requires changing the phone's system files - i.e. it requires root access. odin accesses and changes the root files. I used odin to root my phone.
so if you want to change such details about your phone, you will need to make a decision...

theres nothing wrong with odin. its stupid comments like this that scare people away from customizing their ****.
Samsung didnt make odin for people to root with, it is made to restore a phones firmware. That is what this is doing. Its a stock system with no root. root is not needed to use it. OTA's WILL NOT be affected. I did this with ICS and the JB ota went down just fine. So you dont need to "make a decision."
Billard. I am bone stock JB. Minus root obviously. I will do that. Thanks.
Update: I changed it to true and no go. Still has sound. Changed false to true and saved it in root explorer. Ideas?

Go to system/media/audio/ui/ and rename the file "shutter.ogg".
Not as elegant as a menu option, but this at least disables the sound.
Sweet deal. I just changed it to shut.ogg, and it worked fine. Thanks. :good:

when you changed the value to true did you reboot after or did you try to go straight to the camera?
Oops. Just straight to camera. I'm smart....lemme try that. Thanks. Haha.
Okay, so I rebooted twice, and double checked, I have the value changed to true, and it still has shutter sound. So I'm gonna just change the shutter.ogg file again.

Hi all! Thanks for any and all help!
Quick info: Stock ROM 4.4.2 via OTA (LS980ZVC), Rooted, Nova Launcher and Xposed Framework. I've tried flashing other ROMs and it just didn't work so I went back to stock.
I'm not too impressed with the speaker and headphone volume on my phone. I didn't buy the phone for the sound, though, so that's a good thing. However, an improvement would be nice!
I've tried both the sound mods below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482750 - Root Explorer would not allow me to copy the file from my SD card to the proper location saying "copy failed!" each and every time.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542398 - I flashed this and it soft bricked my phone. I got bootlooped because of it. Is there any particular reason, other than I just don't know how to flash right? (all kidding aside!)
Is there an easy way to get one of these two to work, or am I just stuck with the sound I have?
Again, thanks for any and all help, folks!
I think only work on JB, not KK. Have you tried Viper mod?

Hi everyone.. i Have Galaxy Fame S6810p and i need help with finding two mods for my phone..
1. I like loud music, so when volume is on 100% its still not loud enough, so i need a mod to put my music little bit louder...i had few sounds booster, but non of them really did what i am looking for...
2. I need a Mod so i can put my phone more lighter (Brightness on screen), because when i am out and Sun is high, i cant see even typing SMS..
I also found few Enhancers (Boosters) but all of them had same (Standard) options, like on phone. It was more like WIDGET.. didnt have to go on Settings...
Pls anyone help me
