What is Code Aurora Forums ?
Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Code Aurora is basically AOSP plus all Qualcomm specific enhancements and optimization.
What is AOSP-CAF ?
AOSP-CAF is meant to join AOSP and CAF projects into a widely usable repository,
stored on https://github.com/AOSP-CAF/. It also benefits from a few LineageOS updates.
Finally, AOSP-CAF Nougat also includes OMS theming implementations.

Flashing and updating
AOSP-CAF clean install :

- Flash the AOSP-CAF ROM zip from the Recovery
- (Optional) Flash the GApps to have the Google Applications
- (Optional) Flash the SuperSU zip (recommended, see Q&A informations)
- (Optional) Every additional zip you want to flash
- Reboot
AOSP-CAF update / upgrade :
- (Information) Don't wipe anything unless you want to

Help! I installed this on a ZL (6506) and all seemed fine, then realized I had neglected to install SuperSU. I tried booting into recovery and could not -- it gives an error for a fraction of a second, something about an error on F2FS so it appears to be a file system format issue, as though TWRP doesn't support it? I cleared all partitions except micro SD when I installed it (Because I was having an issue that could have been malware).
So I can't get root because I can't get into recovery? And without recovery I can't install SuperSU? And I can't get another ROM without recovery (at least without going back to flash mode which I barely remember how).
ANy ideas how to get back into recovery, or is it hosed?

10 days. Still fast!
Just two bugs on camera:
1. Physical button is not responding
2. Screen freeze (on last photo) after taking one, can take more photos (using on screen button) but only can see the last photo taked.
Installed Open camera form playstore and it works fine.

OK, I got this back using FastBoot to flash TWRP again, though then it would only boot TWRP; reinstalled this rom with SuperSU this time, and all worked well, though later when I tried going back to Recovery it failed again with the F2FS error (and this time I was sure I had the current TWRP, at least I flashed the zip of the current one).
Is some system or other reformat needed to change to F2FS before using this?
The ROM IS fast (unlike RR ).
I also experience issues mentioned by the others above:
Camera button does not work
An error when you try to start recovery -- you have to flash boot again to get to it.
Working great except for two things: It'd be nice to have recovery included in the ROM AND more importantly my microphone(s) don't seem to be working. I'll try reflashing.
OP, Would you be so kind and update the rom with the fixes for the reported issues? Thanks. :victory:

Both 32bit and 64bit builds are now available!
There will not be an OTA for these releases. I'm working on a way to ensure that users on the 32bit version don't get an OTA notification for the 64 bit version, and users on the 64bit version don't get an OTA notification for the 32bit version. So be patient, I will figure out a way soon!
The changelogs will be close to the same regarding RR's source, the main differences are in my sources for athene (but also similar in some ways too).

If you're experiencing a random reboot, a logcat is useless unless you get it just before the reboot happens.
After the reboot occurs, use a root explorer and go to /sys/fs/pstore and copy the files located there to your internal storage or sdcard. There will be 2 to 3 files there, grab them all and zip them up and post a link so that I can download and review them.

FYI, currently ROM has the same few issues as most every other Oreo based ROM for athene has. As stated in the nougat thread, currently only 64-bit version for now.

Everything seems to work fine for now except not being able to install Magisk (it installs in recovery fine but does not show up after reboot).

USB OTG is not working for me. Tested with a few devices and cables that worked with stock ROM (DAC, keyboards, flash drives).
USB Host Diagnostics app nopes:
ANDROID API / Device detected - No
VERDICT / 3rd party apps - No
Everything else is positive except ROOTED API; I didn't root the phone so N/A there.
Thanks for the build for 'ye old zenfone - everything else seems to work flawlessly.

By flashing Venus fw separately, for some reason its not copying from rom (few user had this issue)

Hello @DarkJoker360 I like your Custom-Rom so far, but I have the problem with my WAS-LX1A because the Contacte app always crashes as soon as the phone boots and thus the app permanently restarts and crashes again. Is this problem known or can I somehow help you solve this problem?

i have was-lx1 phone.
after awhile i managed to get this to work but i have some issues with twrp, twrp gets stuck. my guess is twrp is buggy but it does it because of some filesystem issues.
actual thing i wanted to say is. 5GHz hotspot is not even available. it works using emui though. i don't know is it aosp thing or related to emui.
i noticed something that unlocking huawei phones are not actually fully unlocking phones. basically there is two unlocks, fastboot and toggle in developer options. sometimes toggle is grayed and needs internet access or something.

did anyone manage to get this flashed?? tried this on fresh flashed stock with recommended recovery, decrypted, wiped data, system, cache, dalvik . result: error 6. also needed to edit updater-script before getting this result. suggestions please. WAS-LX1A. Edit: Bootleggers, at this time, was flashable without problems (I forgot to mention). Many wasted hours of try and error, error, error.

I did a perfect clean installation of OS, GApps, and Magisk without errors, but When I rebooted the phone to the first time new ROM boot It went to Huawei eRecovery every time, I don't know What's wrong I tried with another roms and it happens the same way.

I found the solution in this forum. First you must format data by twrp, after reboot from twrp in recovery and after wipe dalvik,cache,system andm then install the ROM and the gapps pico. It worked for me

Download the MatLog app from the Play Store.
After downloading the MatLog app, go to the app settings, and change the log level to Debug.
Clear all previous logs and take the exact steps to produce the error you are receiving. As soon as you receive the error (probably a force close), go straight into MatLog and stop the log recording.
Copy and paste the entire log either to Hastebin or Pastebin
Save the log, and copy and paste the link into the thread with a brief description of the error.

EvoX is a custom vendor based rom, so you have to wipe system, cache, dalvik, vendor and data.
After that follow the flashing instructions from the above ^

It works but I expected to work on the newer version of Magisk I think they will fix it soon,
although the other roms work but have some bugs that bothered me

Download the Gcam and a profile because the stock camera of this rom is not good
and lacks functions

Yes I formatted everything and even formatted vendor and tried everything there is to it. But right now I'm replying from RROS 8.6.3 for rmx1992. I had to--
1. Erase everything as per instructions provided. (Caused bootloop)
2. Then I had to download realme official (.ozip) from realme website and flash through recovery. (Still couldn't flash on latest TWRP)
3. (PANICCCCCCCCCCCC).
4. CAREFULLY read the error and noticed some "treble" thing. (Did a lot of searching on Google)
5. Flashed ORANGE FOX RECOVERY THROUGH TWRP.
6. Then flashed .ozip through Orange fox and *voila* my phone was resurrected to stock rom.
7. Then flashed rros *official 8.6.3*. ( Must say coming from Whyred RROS, it's disappointing**).
** Disappointments-
1. No FLING navigation.
2. Bluetooth range sucks.
3. Proximity sensor doesn't work and my phone heats up so much within 2 minutes it's unbearable.
4. Google Pay doesn't work.
5. EdXposed doesn't work.
But thanks to Devs for this nice rom, BATTERY BACKUP IS AWESOME.... And CUSTOMISATION is top notch....

I'm actually totally confused about this. Maybe you could shed some light on this topic? Some roms say they apply some caf patches and then there are a couple roms that are advertised as being completely caf based. So i thought there are different levels of being caf based.
Hello! Rom boot fine without gapps, but if i install nikgapps phone will reboot into recovery! Can dev please suggest a working gapps version for the rom? Thanks
EDIT - I noticed that other roms too won't boot after flashing Gapps. Is it caused by Nikgapps? im using OrangeFox recovery and i flash Gapps right after the rom.

Hi, i tried FlameGapps beta (you can find them on sourceforge) and rom booted fine, so nikgapps was the problem
@0lorenzo will check what's the issue with nikgapps currently you can flash Flame gapps basic it is working fine. and for recovery use orfox stable version. @sperug what's the issue with maps? here that to working fine can you elaborate more?

I did Clean Install and flashed latest A11 Firmware. On other AOSP ROMS and CAF ROMS, so smooth and fast.

I don't know what did happen. I installed the new version, with dfe onabled. And now is everything working, even maps... Very very smooth...
