app not working - Moto G4 Plus Themes, Apps, and Mods

an app called hike is not working on my resurrection remix rom...any help

Request the app developers to update the app. It's a rather problematic app that has been causing issues for this device on Nougat based ROMs.
An alternative that often works is to backup (via Titanium Backup) the app on another ROM (usually stock), and then restore it after giving all permissions.
There is no other way known.

[Q] New to root - basic questions - need suggestions | Canadian Rogers GS3

Hello everyone,
I've been using android for about 3.5 years now and finally decided to root my phone and make it more customizable. Pretty frustrated w/ preloaded apps and the slowness of my device. I did use helium, tasker etc. and customized the theme of my phone using Nova, icon theme --- now I am ready to look beyond.
I'm trying to install CyanogenMod (can anyone suggest a good guide or should I wait for the app?) - what is superuser? - already bought Franco Kernel (good decision? or should have bought setCPU?) - what is the purpose of BusyBox? should I get ROM Toolbox Pro/ROM Manager - is it worth buying Titanium Backup Pro if you already have/use helium? Is there any other app I should consider looking? Something that is fast, clean, and customizable - trying for a futuristic look.
I have read
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910124
I want to search for stuff but don't know what to search for as I have less knowledge about it - I would appreciate if you direct me to specific threads/links. I tried broadening my search on google and it hasn't helped much. I'm more of a visual & kinesthetic learner.
Thank for you help. :good:
(I love to support developers who promotes a positive user experience so buying isnt a problem - only when an app serves my purpose)
Here are a couple links to start with. I haven't read through these links thoroughly but they will give you the general idea. You don't need to buy a bunch of root apps, just try some free ones first and see if you like them. Each rom thread should have install instructions at the original post. Make sure you have a rom file and or backup of your system on your sdcard at all times.

Most important thing before installing roms/modifying your system is to
A) make sure you have a custom recovery installed like team win recovery (twrp)
B) you have made a backup in your custom recovery of your stock rooted system
C) (optional) you have copied the twrp folder (which contains your system backup) from your sd card to your computer for safe keeping
D) do not wipe (erase) any unnecessary things when you are in custom recovery.
Be careful with titanium backup. It tends to corrupt data. If a rom isn't running smoothly and you restored a lot of items with titanium backup, it's probably titanium backup causing issues. Its really better to just reinstall apps fresh from google play when you install a new rom.
Greenify is a really good root only app and so is Trickster MOD for handling CPU levels, governers, schedulers, etc. If your only on lets say, rooted on 4.1.2 stock, the app Quick Boot is essential for rebooting into recovery and download mode without having to mash on your buttons all the time.

Thanks a lot. I'll keep these in mind.

Greenifying apps like Facebook, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, Reddit or apps like that can do wonders for battery life

Backing up Apps and Settings

hi
Can somebody tell me what's the best way to backup apps and settings when moving from one rom to another,
Thanks
Download Titanium Backup.
It depends. If you're coming from 4.1.2 ROM... and going to 4.3... Titanium Backup will have issues because they changed things on where/how files are stored in 4.3... but I think there is a fix for TB somewhere.
PS
Never backup system data if you're updating to a new ROM. It messes things up. Just use the Backup new user apps & newer versions.

There are two useful application which almost supports all custom ROMs.
1. ROM ToolBox Pro (Which might have special features including Accounts, Call Log, Contacts and so available with pro app)
2. My Backup Pro (It also have most of facilities but have comusion/requrement of externel app).
I would recommend Helium, because titanium Backup doesn't work properly from Rom to Rom.

I used Titanium when I upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.3 and it all worked well. Use Titanium for all user apps and data. All system stuff will be automatically restored from Google Play (i.e. Contacts and Apps, Wifi access points) the only thing you need to backup extra is SMSes. You can do this from Titanium (export to XML).

Hi.
In my case,
1. change from system app to user app, (using Titanium backup or similar app)
2. uninstall it.
3. install from google pay again.
4. do not change to system app, use as user app.
5. fixed !
Cheers.

Thanks for the info.
This didn't work for me.
I ended up flashing liquid-smooth ROM instead of SlimKat. Used the PA_GAPPS which seems to be working..

[Q] Stock ROM without HERE

Does anyone know how or if it is possible to modify the stock ROM to remove the HERE app? I imagine that it is not straightforward, but I'd like to do this so that I can install the updated HERE app that Nokia is now producing for Android.
Your device must be rooted for this.
Uninstall only HERE with any system app uninstaller (I used Titanium Backup). Do NOT uninstall the 3 Here Services. Restart your phone, then try installing it.
I'm using it and works flawlessly. Definitely better than the stock one!

This worked for me!
I've been running with this for a while and noticed that my GPS is not locking (GPS only--no cell assistance). I flashed my Nokia X back to stock rom and installed the Here update through the Opera Store and it seems to perform better (it actually locks my position).
Anyone else see this?

I don't have this specific device myself and I'm only going by memory since I haven't done this in quite some time...
The last I knew, Titanium backup has an option to restore an application from nandroid backup.
I believe that the following steps should work still.
1) Open Titanium Backup and select the nandroid backup option.
2) Select to recover the App Only option.
3) Once Recovered, DON'T open the app yet. Go to the Play Store to check and obtain any App updates first.
4) One that's done, Open the app to see if good to go.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Keep in mind that not all stock apps play well with LineageOS but, I can't state which ones will or will not work either.
Good Luck!
