Try a newer ROM. Lineage is nougat 7.1.2
Can you send me a link? I really like this ROM though. But I'll give it a shot.

Are you on a Sprint S3? If so, this is the link to LineageOS. CyanogenMod ended, and some of the developers forked it and created lineage. You could say it's the continuation of cm. If you want more features than it has, then you might want to try octos ROM. It's also on Android 7.1 nougat.
Slimkat hasn't been around for quite awhile, are you still on KitKat? You may have to update your recovery to the latest TWRP as well.
Yeah for some reason lineage is not working for me. Currently downloading Omega because of the great reviews I've read and will give that a shot. Thanks again

You must not be on the Sprint S3. You have to use a ROM that matches your phone. There are many different s3's.
Yeah, took forever to download and it was incompatible. The Omega ROM anyway. I'll have to try something else.

As long as it's not the triband model (ends with t) then that lineage I linked is perfectly compatible. You need to be on the newest TWRP recovery, and wipe data, system, cache, and dalvik. And then flash ROM, gapps, and boost apn fix (to get LTE). Boot up once, (setup on wifi if possible) then back to recovery and dirty flash ROM only (no wipes) and all will work. Remember you need gapps that match Android version of ROM ( 7.1.1 or 7.1.2)

2.flash rom
3.flash Gapps
updates : new build 09/12 boot fine ok with stock kernel aicp.

Boot up fine on the mobile note 2 but baseband unknown.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using XDA Free mobile app
Rom is smooth but the baseband is unknown so no data, calls, etc. been trying to figure out a fix but I have not been able to any help would be great Thanks
How difficult would it be to port a rom over from the other carriers for the developer edition? I understand there are build and kernel issues. I would be happy to experiment, but I have little knowledge in this area. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

AOSP will not install, it throws an error everytime. I have tried several times but I can't get the APN settings to stick to enable LTE.
Someone will figure it out eventually. I remember my galaxy s4 was in the same boat on GPE ROM for a while
So, basically I could flash something like dynamic kat and ktoonz or faux for tmobile, get it booted up, change the APN and if it sticks, I'm good to go?

You can either wait for root on the retail edition or purchase a developer edition when they are back in stock. Those of us who are flashing ROMs have purchased a developer edition that can be rooted unlike the retail edition that most have purchased that can not be rooted yet. The link I posted for a developer edition is the onlly way you can get one besides buying a used one. Verizon dose not supply these.
Is root getting close?

Can you flash a d2tmo rom on the i747 d2lte/d2att?
I am not 110% sure, it might be possible.
I figured, should I try porting?

depends on the Rom.......such as
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development/rom-cyanide-l-v1-android-5-0-2-t2980174
CyanideL is compatible to both.
Not to mention some of the replies on this thread sounds like a bunch of kids, sorry to be rude.
Some ROMS are fine for either phone. You may be able to get a Tmo ROM to work on the ATT s3 if you flash the Tmo ROM and immediately flash a compatible i747 kernel. I do this with my ATT note 3.

Ported ROMs should work, just make sure whatever ROM you want to boot works with the dt2Lte. I am coming from the GS2 and just got a GS4 not long ago, so my knowledge of ROMs on the GS3 here is limited due to the fact that my GS3 is just stock rooted.

infamous last words to a flasher,lol.......That Rom is for the galaxy s3 neo......worst case scenario is you brick and I have bricked a few, its not easy to recover and some have never recovered their device.
VERY first thing you need to do is find out what bootloader, modem, recovery, etc. and find a Rom that meets the criteria of YOUR device. Post your info and I will shoot you a list of compatible Roms that I can verify works.
I hope I helped

I attached a screenshot of my device info.
being as you are on the latest NJ1 I can tell you from reading forums that you can run almost every 4.4.4 or 5.0.x Rom on the front page of..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-att/development
I am on NE4 and have ran every Rom on that page plus a bunch more. I cant tell you which ones I like more because they are all the same base, some have added features, but they are all great in their own way.
OK so I see there is a ROM I love on my tablet avaible for the sprint version of this phone what would I be able to do to make it work on the att version I know there is a file u edit just don't know witch one thanks in advance

No I mean on the galaxy s3 an they support it but not the d2att variant of the galaxy s3 just the d2spr d2 vrw versions an I thought I heard their was something you can change on the update script to make it compatible with that art variant of the galaxy s3
Now I understand.
Weird because I see d2lte on the left but there is no ROM for it.
Unfortunately, I don't have the knowledge to help you port a ROM.
OK thanks

I didnt like being stuck on m919 roms specifically developed for this phone as the att(i337) and international(jfltexx) roms were also available, so I
just downloaded the jfltexx recovery
HTML:
https://dl.twrp.me/jfltexx/twrp-3.1.0-0-jfltexx.img.tar.html
recovery, flashed via m919 twrp, and rebooted recovery.
VIOLA, i was jfltexx in recovery with all options working as you would expect on a international phone.
Second i loaded AICP
HTML:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-aicp-8-0-lp-5-0-2r1-official-t3026904
and that worked, so i went ahead and installed ResurrectionRemix
HTML:
https://androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=131617
and that had no issues that i can see. I can provide pics if needed, tell me what works and what does not.
